So to compromise, after re-exporting and re-uploading about a dozen edited versions of that video, I eventually decided to cut the video up into thre...

John Williams's soundtrack ! Even away from the 2 / 3 note "Shark's in the vicinity" track. So multilayered with emotive bass lines. The Brody & son dinner table scene, even the "scramble ashore" final credits track ! Hairs on the back of the neck, everytime. Musical Genius

Probably the most realistic ending to a tv series. Also, since Succession is based on King Lear, you had an idea how it would end, yet it never felt too much on the nose. Tom made sense

I can't believe that ending where it was reveiled that the entire show took place in an alternative universe contained entirely within the North Tower of the World Trade Center on the morning of September 11.

The shark was never tested in water, period. They tested that the Pneumatic rams worked and it was then shipped east to Martha's Vineyard. The salt water corroded all of the electronics.

Loved this movie and have been obsessed with at various times since my friend's grandmother took us to see it in the summer of 1975. Yes, that poster might be the greatest ever. It will live on decade after decade because it is a true masterpiece.

12:16 "The USS Indianapolis, a MASSIVE AIRCRAFT CARRIER" (proceeds to actually show the correct image)... ummmm... the USS Indianapolis was a modest sized Heavy Cruiser, and quite tiny to the big Carriers of WWII.... that was NOT an aircraft carrier.

Third act slow or boring? What? This is where we get the allegory of the movie : one man obsessively hunting sharks out of revenge for his fallen comrades, another man looking for validation outside the lab and another overcoming his childhood fear of the water and showing great bravery in a terrifying circumstance. The third act IS the movie. Act one and two just a build up to it....

As much as I love Succession, the only TV show better than Better Call Saul is its own predecessor, Breaking Bad. Also, I hate all of the characters in Succession. Every single last one of them. Sometimes it's fun to see them backstab each other, sometimes it's disturbing, who I side with changes on a constant basis, I even hate Greg and Shiv.

@@froggy1033@froggy1033 Greg is a manipulative, self-serving, money hungry parasite attempting to leech off the wealth of the family for his own gain. And he sued a charity to try to line his own pockets with money that was supposed to go to those in need. If you think Greg's decent, you need to check your moral compass because it's clearly broken.

Finale is absolute dogshit. Look idc if neither of them won. But the one with the happiest outcome is the worst character of the whole series, Shiv. She stays married to the CEO in Tom. And she’s the fucking worst bitch on this show. A cheater, liar, backstabber. That’s why this finale is garbage. And it really is such a shame because the show was so amazing

My family vacation to Holden Beach happened to line up with shark week every year as a kid. I spent a lot of time glued to the tv afraid to go out to the beach. Eventually I’d overcome but I’d always be on edge. Went to Holden beach again this year and was still on edge. Then I got fascinated by my fear and saw the Egypt video. I may actually never go in the ocean again after seeing that. Not an ideal situation.

The movie is pretty good. I just wish it didn't have such an damaging legacy on sharks. Shortly after the movie release there was such a massive influx in shark derbys and general trophy hunting it caused multi generational effects on the perspective of sharks. To anyone who grew up in the post 1995 you wont really understand. However, the movie released when information was not as abundant and accessible which left people with Jaws as their main introduction/understanding to sharks. Shark week, which peter was the first host of also went down this path. Which is why Peter did not return. Shark week actively uses jaws language and editing while claiming to be for educational purposes. When do you ever create such a biologically damaging fiction novel/movie and end up regretting it. Peter spending the rest of his time undoing the damage he had done. Mundus being the inspiration for Quint also spent much of his later life trying to fix the damage he had done. I understand the love people had for it especially if they grew up with it but there is a sad lesson to be learned from the movie /book. I hope people who continue to have the jaws effect or just love jaws learn from it and try to alleviate to issues it has created.

Indeed. And contrary to the modern myth, that was by design. Spielberg never wanted to show Bruce early on and Bruce was never scheduled to be used for the first half of the film. Spielberg was known as a suspense director (Duel, Something Evil). That was his style at the time. He kept the shark hidden during the first half of the film deliberately.

Hindsight is 20/20, but rewatching the whole series, and paying attention to subtleties and interactions Tom had with the actual men in charge - "it was Tom all along" is kind of the only way it could end and was hinted at several times. Amazing show, the ending was perfect and was really hanging on that 1 decisive vote up to the very end.

Quint's story of his experience on the USS Indianapolis was pure genius. In the book, Quint's reason for going after the shark is completely different, as he was just looking for the best prey as a shark hunter, while in the movie, it's kinda like a revenge story. Logan didn’t want his kids cos they weren’t good enough.. they were spoilt kids Look at the way Roman and Kendall were fighting like kids rolling over the floor.. “You are not serious people”.. Logan knew it from the very beginning .. None of the kids did anything on their own. They wanted to be CEO without any contribution of their own.. they tried to dabble outside but aren’t skilled enough

Great Film. Is as good now as it was the first time I saw it in 1975, as a 14 year old with wide eyes and beating heart. My biggest fear then was it was gonna be so graphic that I would just gross out. What it did, was outsmart my expectations and delivered a movie so good, I still remember my initial reaction all these years later. Best buildup to a last ten minutes ever! Great ending!
