Hi, would you recommend Bontragers for a whole day (100+ miles) XC/Trail trip? I'm wondering if they have decent ventilation. I want to buy these shoes but I'm afraid I'll pick and order wrong size. How did you choose yours? Yesterday I tried Specialized shoes. Normally I wear 42/27cm but with Specialized I would need 43 :] Could you tell me what is your casual/standard walking shoe size compared to Bontragers that you bought. Thx in advance :]
As an all day shoe, no. I use(d) them for MTB only, not as a everyday walker.

I sold mine awhile ago. Great while it lasted. I've heard great things about Canyon. Good luck with the purchase!

I've always been a big fan of the Domane line. Carbon, aluminum, no matter... they are great bikes.
I have this exact bike and i must say its the best bike i've ever had - for the price you pay, its a bike for life. Rides well, handles a variety of terrain (besides rugged off road) and is quality. Highly recommend

I've a sunseeker and I Bought a bafang motor for it I noticed it had the grip type throttle with a key as well, Id like to change it to a thumb throttle and use a keyed battery instead.

What's important is your inseam. If you can stand over the top tube of the bike and have about 1 thumb length of distance between you and your bike, that is the right size.

anyone can tell giant contend sl1 disc 2018 model tyre clearance? Anyone tried bikepacking trip on this bike? i am planning to install panaracer gravel king 700*28c along with a ortlieb 11L Saddle bag, 4 L Frame bag and 4L handle bar bag for a 7 day trip? Also not sure if carbon seatpost can take the saddle pack
Because it's disc brakes the 28mm shouldn't be an issue with clearance, but don't have the bike to confirm. Often times local bike shops will have old tires laying around to give away. You could grab an old 28mm and try it yourself. I'd check directly with the manufacturer about the seatpost.

That's pretty much a standard pedal for everybike you buy... Manufacturers don't put expensive pedals on.

The City will have fenders on the tires to protect the rider from rain. Additionally, there is a rear rack if you want to attach panniers (i.e. bags to carry things). Otherwise, it is the same bike.

I've got one. It's solid as a rock, especially with the tubeless tires. Tiagra 10s is awesome. My issue is the weight of the bike and also I find it has high rolling friction in the front fork.
Interesting. I haven't heard anyone comment about the front fork. Did you have your local bike shop take a look as to why it might be doing that?
Nothing but problems with mine. Chain snapped first season and problems switching gears.
was your local bike shop responsive with the repairs?
They took 2 weeks because of the pandemic to do a gear job and replace the chain and cassette and charged me 111$ cad. I've only road dirt trails no downhill and I'm experiencing these issues after maybe 30 rides. Wondering if that's normal??
This bike is nothing but a headache. More drivetrain problems. Chain snapped, derailer ended up in the spokes and went around. Junk

There shouldn't be a clearance issue on a mountain bike, but I hear your concern. I'd start with a large on the test ride, and if that isn't to your liking you can give the XL a shot. Safe riding!

The bike is no longer in our shop, so I can't weigh it. It's an aluminum frame, so it's not odd that some might describe it as "heavy". But heavy compared to what, a full carbon Tarmac? For sure. Guess it all depends on what a person is currently riding.
