1) Not all universities require an English test 2) Not really if the stipend is good. But it is always good to have some money in your account, esp if you are coming with family. Visit enterfinland or migri.fi for more info. 3) After getting an admission, apply for your residence permit online at enterfinland and proceed to the embassy for an interview. I will not recommend agents because application is straightforward and well explained on their website.

@nadinewhite957 academic position could mean a phd position or a research assitant etc, any paid position in the academic space is an academic position. Phd position is being precise, where a Phd student is paid stipends. Phd researcher includes Phd students, faculty, postdocs etc. Any person conducting research at a doctoral level is a Phd researcher. However, most Phd researchers I have seen already have their PhDs. You need your tuition and proof of funds basically. Tuition at an average of 5,000 Euros, could be more or less and a proof of funds of 6,720 Euros. That's what you need.

If it is described as 2 rooms, it means 1 living room and one bedroom. If it is described as a one bedroom apartment, then it means it has a living room and one bedroom. So in essence, 3 rooms is the same as a 2 bedroom apartment and 4 rooms is a 3 bedroom apartment. This is how best I can explain it.

Hi, if you are coming as a student, your school will advise you on that. Different cities have provision for students and you can apply online. If you are not coming as a student, I cannot find an apartment for you because the requirements are more.

Birth certificate is not required for rp applications. It might be requested for, to clear some change of name doubts but not a requirement. School leaving cert may be required for students coming for their bachelor's. As a master's student back then, i did not use any of the two.

You have to keep checking studyinfo.fi. some schools will open application in May, August and so on. It's just a case of checking constantly. But note that the best time to apply is in January. The other applications are from schools with high tuition or tough admission requirements.

However, according to migri, a student needs to show 6720 Eur, spouse 8400 Eur, first child 6000 Eur, second child 4800 Eur, 3rd child 3600 Eur per year.

We just got married for a year plus so i will also be required to show proof of funds 8400 Eur as her spouse. So what is the funding or scholarship. You can ensure the funds are there all through till you get a decision. If it is hard to get an appointment in the country you are applying from, it's better to get an appointment first. After that, you can submit your application in Enter Finland any day before your appointment day.

Yes you can. A D7 in English is more reason you need an ESL. However, requirements vary from school to school. So you have to check what each school needs to make a decision. Some schools require you to be at least 19 years of age and write IELTS or Duolingo test to assess your current level. Some schools also offer online programs.
