Please forgive me!* One characteristic of obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) is miserly spending the unwillingness and sometimes obsession with not spending money, or saving money wherever possible. Thank you, Molly. I've watched all of your videos. I made very small purchases that weren't necessities to work on my frugality. Over time, large purchases became easier.
@@LoisLane-e9o thanks for being here and watching! That sounds like a really reasonable plan.

Yeah kinda. But more like symptomes not sideeffect.
I tried to use side effects vs symptoms correctly throughout the video but I was getting confused at one point 😅
Great video! I am your 368th subscriber🙌
Yes! I invest like 50% of my income. But I have no goal or purpose... And any steretypical goal like buying a house or nice car is reaaally bad if you do the math... So I wait. To get more money. For no real reason 😅 Love UA-cam as a resource for anti-consumerism. ❤
Relatable 😅 thank you for sharing and watching!
I did not know some of that. Thank you.

Thank you, Molly.
whenever someone tells me they’ve been having weird dreams, i ask if they’ve started taking a medication recently. i had crazy anxiety dreams for months after i started lexapro, but i’d rather be anxious in a dream scenario than irl 😅

wowwww i didn’t realize jumpiness could be a side affect! i use Carpe so i don’t sweat much, but wellbutrin definitely wins out over any deodorant/antiperspirant
- whats the mental illness, I mean there is depression and then there is something that is near hopeless to deal with like BPD
“One of the fundamental tasks we need to accomplish in therapy is to step back from the isolated details of our lives and get a sense of the larger picture, the patterns and themes that comprise our stories and to some extent define our lives…[The stories we create] lead to our fundamental beliefs about who we are, how the world operates, the nature of relationships, and what will make life fulfilling for us. These beliefs in turn lead to how we feel and how we behave. Put simply, bad stories make us sick and good stories heal.” (108) Effective therapy involves “…connecting the dots to see what themes are consistent in your life…[for example, experiences that led to seeking therapy], what gets you annoyed, resentful, angry, or fearful, and what moves you, excites you, and gives you please. Observing your interactions with coworkers, family, and friends…and watching for patterns…will be very important.” (117) “While we do need to discuss the individual events…if we don’t ask what larger themes recur, and which core issues consistently cause us trouble, we could spend a lifetime in therapy looking at individual events as if they were unrelated and not make progress toward a more satisfying future.” (108)
“We all create stories about our lives and our world…to make sense of what’s happened in the past and what’s happening now. Our stories help the brain to organize and recall incredibly complex information, and they lead to the beliefs that help us navigate the world without having to reassess each new situation individually…Having a cohesive autobiographical narrative gives us a strong sense of core self that helps us to be resilient in the face of challenges. Using words to construct our story helps us to build the neural networks that we need to contain emotion and use it effectively. It also affects the quality of the attachments we form with others.” (109-10) “We sometimes organize our lives around stories of despair, and over time even come to defend them and perpetuate them as if our lives depending on them. Stories are powerful medicine [that] can help or harm, depending on whether we take the right one in the right dosage. They can either create or diminish energy. Whether we are aware of it or not, we’re always taking this medicine...We all tell ourselves stories about how we’ve come to be who we are and where we’re going. It is the default mode of the brain. Some of it’s true, some of it isn’t, and some of it we’ll never know for sure.” (110)
Gary Trosclair, the author of The Healthy Compulsive, wrote a great book, I'm Working On It In Therapy: Getting the Most Out of Psychotherapy.

I agree with you and there’s a phrase in my language that know I understand. People says that to the one who is angry: tienes doble trabajo enfadarte y desenfadarte. Now you have double work get angry and stop being angry. It means you don’t have to wait until someone is going to make you feel better, you have to deal with your own feelings.

Wait what, ocpd? i hear those letters and rush over to my phone- away from make tea and dinner to hear what is said next😂
Haha! Yes! Have you heard of obsessive compulsive personality disorder (OCPD)?
@@youseemnormalyes i have it
Interested to hear your say because it is not metioned or understood. I was misdiagnosed w ocd first. Then when i had my 3 year disability review to see if i had recovered enough to go off benefits the assessor said no what you are describing sounds more like ocpd not ocd. I said yes i know because i did not accept the ocd diagnosis. I kept searching for answers and found the channel called my life in debre. Sorry if i cant spell and i hate spellcheck so i just live w it. Very not ocpd, lol i override a lot! Thanks for sharing i dont think ive seen your content before.
this is amazing, thank you molly! i’m so excited for my tea nights again, it’s vanilla peppermint with some soy milk for me as part of my routine! nice cozy tea and a book to wind down at night
Thank you for sharing your routine- it sounds LOVELY and I’m inspired. I have a few different caffeine free teas to get into and I just organized them today!!
I’ve been on lamotrogine for 20 years. I recently developed a serious rash on my arms. Especially my left arm Bright red with some liquid filled bubbles. Dr put me on prednisone, but I’m heading to the ER tomorrow. Haven’t had a good nights sleep for 3 days. I just got some cortisone 10 today. It might it a bit less itchy, but it’s still driving me nuts. The Dr said this is very rare. It most always starts within the first month as you described. Thanks for the video
Hi! How are you doing now? I'm very sorry this happening to you too :(

I feel this personality disorder should be renamed to Overcontrolled Personality Disorder which still has an acronym of OCPD. It's very annoying when people look up the current OCPD and almost always get OCD instead just because the names are only different by one word.
