As a woman, I liked that they gave Chani more backbone rather than the subservient nature of the women in the book. But she’ll have to accept everything in the new one. I read Sisterhood and like it- the bully who breaks all the machines and forces th Butlerian “the mind of man is holy” is a lot to work with.

I liked how the character narrated an introduction to the 1984 adaptation. One of the very few things I liked in that movie.

This game is much easier to control on PC.

It looks pretty close to the Sisterhood book. I am interested to see if they lay any parallels between the Butlerian extremists and the Spanish Inquisition . I wonder if they will feature both enemies of Varian Atreides or choose one to showcase. I feel like they need to have Valya’s brother Griffin to give Valya Harkonnen more depth. It’s all very exciting!

I think Travis Fimmel’s character is going to be some kind of machine infected human trying to bring humanity down from within.

Salusa Secundus was the imperial (Emperor) home planet until it was later nuked. So the shots with Mark Strong should be set on that world.

Lack of actually gameplay melee combat looks like it doesnt exist

Im actually hyped and scared at the same time. Base Building looks great. The setting is insane (my favorite universe) Graphics are okay ( idc about graphics as long as gameplay and story make up for it) But there it is.... the gameplay as in combat, looks absolute ass. In Dune, the main focus is on melee weapons, here it seems melee is just a sidething, while it looks completely ass, literally worse than any 2d game from 20th century. If they dont polish this, it will most likely be another star wars outlaws flop.

I wish they didn't make it a survival game...those games are getting really old now. I don't want to have to get distracted in a game to seek shelter when I'm trying to get something accomplished, or find and cook food, and drink. I hope there is a way to adjust this in the game so it's not punishing or take away from the game. But I have a feeling that if it's in the game, there must not be much else to the game. I hope I'm wrong. I like how New World handled this. I also hope they clean up the character animations.

This looks BEYOND boring. Good lord. Not every IP needs a hilariously arduous crafting sim. -_- Dude is out here picking plant fiber in Dune. Why would THIS be the game people imagine when remembering Dune? What a blind design. The combat looks HILARIOUS. How the mighty have fallen. This doesn't seem in engaging in any aspect, and that's saying something. You'd hardly know this was Dune if it wasn't on the title screen. Seriously, think about it... A world that already existed mixed with mechanics that everyone's been tired of for years, now... Just a bad concept for a universe that could have some really neat games. If they took all that crafting/picking literal weeds out of the game, they might've had something. This game is clearly suffering from an identity crisis - meaning, it looks like its lost somewhere between trying to mimic several other successful games, resulting in each area of the game severely lacking. Very early footage, yet - footage, nonetheless. This does no bode well.

I don't get it

There is a half hour gameplay trailer out as of yesterday and I did like what I saw. Apparently combat footage was slowed to show everyone what was happening.

This might be the first and only MMO in the last 10 years that might get me invested.
