It was a very crazy day with all the weather. Hail, tornadoes, thunderstorms, heavy rains. Then the weather cold off by 20 degrees the next day and on the 30’s at night. It was 70 degrees the day before. Morels generally pop up when the ground temps are normally 50 degrees and after a rain. We go walking in our woods to find them. I do not own the music. Wood ash lye tallow soap making
Переглядів 5707 місяців тому
We go through the whole step of making old school wood ash lye, from hardwood ashes. We also take grass feed beef tallow, from the kidneys of a cow. We do this on the wood cook stove, that is in our cabin. We tried to find old recipes to make the soap. This is our first time making and trying all the methods out. We are not professionals we just try to learn as we go.

Got my staples out from my skin cancer surgery. Ordered some Black Death sourdough starter off of eBay. I show you the process on how to activate the starter. I made some yummy pancakes off of the starter, on the wood cookstove in the cabin. Also with the bitter cold temps down in the negatives I show you how the chickens, animals and ourselves have dealt with it. While Walmart shelves are empt...

Переглядів 33010 місяців тому
After the Mohs skin cancer surgery my face swelled up really bad. Our dog Jack went missing and we had to go look all over the place for him. We went to Silver Dollar city and rode the Fire N the hole one last time before it was permanently shut down. Made some waffles on our Antique waffle Iron but that turned out to be a big disaster.

That engine is similar to one that I had from a Sears "Water Witch" washing machine.

Hated those damn push mowers. I would hit a clump of grass and bust my chops on the handle when I was a kid. Grandad got a powered one with drive wheels and i thought i had died and gone to heaven.

I watched my grandma make lye soap, when I was a kid. She made it over a fire in the shed. But I did not remember the whole process. I do remember the soap.
