Cool footage, good cutting too
What a nice stand! Brilliant respacing job, will set it up for some lovely sawlogs in future. Must be a tight fit loading those long pieces onto the forwarder though - what length are they? Here in the UK this sort of material would usually go for fencing or biomass and would be cut to somewhere around 2 - 2.5m.
It helps keep forest fires down
How do you like the bike for the hard enduro stuff? Are your running stock gearing?
It works great! Adding the pro 6500 spring conversion to the forks was a huge improvement through the rough stuff…Definitely more capable than I am…. I’m running 12/49 on my gearing
Why are they standing in the bight?

Can't beat a Ponsse. I would however recommend getting a new reel cover for the crane. I know they aren't cheap, but the reel and bracket stuff is even more expensive. When you're in a tighter thinning like that, it's really easy to hit it if you aren't careful. I would love to do ctl in the Pacific Northwest
Watching that Tigercat walk up the hill was impressive! I grew up a few miles from there, about 1/4 mile east from the Short Covered bridge and probably hunted deer and elk in that area before!
I've flown my Mavic Air over the dam there, now I want to fly my Mavic Air 2 over it.
Why so messy. Be awful hard for the skidder man. Not a single butt lined up.
How does one get into a job like this? where do you start? Who do you talk to? I’m super interested. I’m tired of working under LED lights 8 hours a day.
Iv hinted that clear cut
who is the logger
I worked quite a bit in the Oregon coast range from the Alsea river north. At first I thought this was filmed in Valsetz area but I don’t recall cliffs. Is this north of Saddle mountain?
This is on the east side of the Willamette Valley near Sweet Home
I logged out of Vernonia, Timber, Gales creek, Jordan Creek in early to late 70's for Crown Zellerbach.
Helluva job boys! Keep it up!
he did not do a good job iam glad iam not the skidder oper
I was thinking the same thing. I actually was looking for this comment lol. Not one butt lined up. Be a nightmare to skid
He's cutting for a shovel or yarder and also to save it out. It's big tall wood, on some broken ground. Looks like he's doing a good job making the best of what he has to work with to me.
i did for 40 years
Im jealous

Love the TTY70 , used to own one and wish we still did. Future video please show close ups of that Thunderbird
Nice work. Which drone did you use to shoot this? 🍻
Nice!

Clickbait and lol at those idiot hillbillies standing next to the chain block
nicely done... Yes....
Thank you kindly
You can walk that cat right off the side that bank isn’t that steep move the trailer and walk right up on the road these guys lol 😂
I've ran the g3 before
When I heard that pop, I flinched.
Hard on the grapple rotator and knuckle. Would have been hooked directly to the back of the skidder if I were doing it. I have seen grapples torn off pulling too much weight. They do have design limits.
👍totally agree.... I’ve since added a hitch plate to the back of this skidder!
Very Good!
I really don't get it, that was a very successful recovery and yet every other comment on here is something negative about how you guys did it all wrong. People are annoying narcissistic pricks. Good job guys you did a hell of a job!!
It’s just human nature I guess.... how can one prove how smart he is without first proving how incompetent others are? It’s ok though....as the one responsible for fixing all these machines when they break down (or actually do go over the bank) I can take solace in knowing that this was indeed a good save and the best case scenario for all those involved👍
@@kennymay3855 I totally agree man. Typically the people always talking are the dumbest ones in the crowd. That was the definately the best case scenario and you guys handled it very well!
@@RHD919 when you're staring at a tree, you're not seeing the whole forest! There were much safer places to stand!
That was awsome
People looking to get cut in half
That's a badass skidder
748G-III, I have the same machine except mine has a winch on back for days like this.
@@oldtimerf7602 I bet it's nice!
bad ass......
This was done all wrong. First I did not see a cooler of bud light and the people in the video with one in there hand open. Second, no loud music covering up the sounds of the work being performed. Third, the video did not shake and we miss the climax scene. Fourth is that nothing was damaged. Get back to me when all this gets corrected!
👍👍👍❤
Hey guy nice!
2 people lacked a ton of brain cells in n this video.
Nice
The element of stupidity ran wild in this video .....especially the 2 idiots standing in the kill zone if the cable had snapped .......
Thinking the same thing.
over what bank .. still on the trailer and if the truck went forward it could of done the same thing ,,
That wasn’t over the bank! The dozer is still on the trailer!
I thought the cable might have snapped!
Great OH&S...I didn’t need those legs!
LIARS!
