    Your art is awesome. I'm preparing for my own portfolio for children's book industry now. Seeing you being rejected makes me nervous. I know my process of getting an agent won't be smooth. But seeing a great and experienced professional being emotional about her rejection makes me wonder if I can do better/ luckier than her, or wondering what else can I do to get anything.

    This has been the MOST helpful video I’ve found while beginning the process of illustrating my own children’s book. THANK YOU! Question - I was planning to create my illustrations in procreate using their generic CMYK color profile. Why do you opt to use RGB and then convert with photoshop after? Do you notice any color changes in the digital artwork vs the printed artwork using that process? Thanks again!

    • @hannatkachenko
      @hannatkachenko 16 днів тому

      Wow, thank you, Jessica ❤️ I’m so happy to hear that! I tried working in their CMYK mode, but the colors turned out very strange, and when I later opened the file in Photoshop, they looked really "grayish." I couldn’t deliver something like that to my publisher. I found that converting the illustration to CMYK later and adjusting the vibrance settings works better for me. However, you should definitely try to find what works best for you!

    Hello Hannah, the illustration is so cute. Love it. 😍 May I ask you how you get along with the touch screen of the tablet? Is it very sensitive to your hand touching the screen during drawing? Greetings from Germany, Anni 🌻

      Hi, thank you so much! ❤️ I must admit that I don’t turn on the touch function at all. 😁 It started bothering me because sometimes I would accidentally draw with my hand without noticing, and I wouldn’t see it until much later. Sometimes, it can also be hard to fix those mistakes. Greetings from Germany to you too! 😊
