Sir William Wallace was knighted in Ettrick Forrest in the Borders. An amazing statue stands today in memory of that event. See the Eildon hills, Dryburgh Abbey and Melrose. Wonderful part of Scotland. #visitscotland #theborders #williamwallace #historicscotland #melrose

Iona ferry to Isle of Mull.

The island of Iona sits just south of the island of Mull. The island is famous for the ancient abbey, and St Columba for establishing Christianity all over Scotland, The short 10 minute crossing is well with the effort. #calmac #visitscotland

It is beautiful 😍
Nearly blown off our feet but very much worthwhile the hike for the views 😃
How wonderful! Thank you! 🙋👍🙏
I must see it!🤞
It is really quite breathtaking 😮
Thank you for sharing 😊 We drive past last month but the grounds are not dog friendly so we were unable to visit, which is a shame. Hope you're having a good weekend ❤
Thank you @morgsjoboo2247 - it is super and sorry you can't get your wee dog into the grounds. We left Minnie (small Sprocker Spaniel) at the hotel when we visited and had to give her lots of treats when we got back for leaving her on her own! Yours aye, John
AWESOME!!
Beautiful! Truly beautiful! Aye! 🙋👍🙏🕊️🇮🇪🏴
@@BoadiceanRevenge It really is an amazing castle and was lucky enough to catch the Falconry display today. Regards, John
It is isn't it? :)
Wonderful! Cheers m'dear! Aye! 🙋👍🙏🕊️🇮🇪🏴
Thank you! Cheers!
Oh that is Gorgeous! 👍😀🙋🇮🇪🏴
the majestic highland cooo!
Fabulous
Forgot how wonderful it is! Ahhhh! Aye! 🙋🙏🇮🇪🏴
Oddly enough, I was there today and now this video pops up as a YT recommendation! Walked from St. Boswells along the Tweed, via Dryburgh Abbey and hotel (lunch). A lovely day.
pshhhhh. that looks nothing like Mel Gibson. smh.
😂😂😂
Yes, I certainly will and my visit to see William Wallace was part of a recce I’ve been doing. The Borders Podcast should be out next week on usual channels or through my website Exclusive Scottish Visits. Regards, John
@@exclusivescottishvisits4757 Brilliant, I’ll look out for that🤩
Thanks for this John Harbour it looks beautiful. I’m in the process of planning a visit to The Borders later this year, would you be running one of your Unique Scotland podcasts on The Scottish Borders at any time? 😊
Barrie wrote many books based on his Scottish childhood, before finally writing Peter Pan, such as 'A Window in Thrums,' 'Tommy & Grizel,' 'Sentimental Tommy,' 'Margaret Ogilvy,' and 'The Little Minister.'
Thats 2 boxes of weetabix that wont be made
Nice video great camera work as usual bye for now Philip
Glad you enjoyed it
Hello, the castle and the park are beautiful. A subscription for you. Best regards 😊👍

Hi Sir i visited your youtube channel and i saw that your channel has subscribers and you are uploading many videos the videos are very nice but your video performance is not good like viz is not increasing new subscribers are not increasing there are some reasons like your videos Need to do SEO and use good thumbnails and promote videos and some more tips if you are interested we can discuss are you interested
Thank you for your channel, and the interesting videos and podcasts you've been producing, e.g. I also enjoyed the one about Loch Lomond.
Thankyou for watching/listening - John
I was just there... nice place
Me too 😅
I remember visiting the Highlands and Culloden Moor many years ago, and seeing the the castle but I don't think I went into the gardens, so this was good to see. Cheers me dear. 🙋🏴🇮🇪👌👍🙏
Did that crossing in 1997. Good to see her still going.
In all the time I lived in Scotland I don't understand how I never got to see this huge spanner-looking phenomenon! It's absolutely marvellous. And the Kelpies too! Maybe I just didn't like crowds! But hey, I think I'll make a date for the autumn when the midges are nearly gone and I might have me caravan so I can come back up for an extended visit. Maybe even stay!!Hooray! Cheers me dear! 👍🏴🇮🇪🙋🙏
It's going to be here when you come back to enjoy it when you do. Have you listened to any of my Audio Podcasts on Scotland? Might give you some information which may be handy as a planning guide. cheers, John
Which clever engineer came up with this amazing invention? Is it used for every day life or just a tourist attraction? Thanks for this post!
Opened in 2002, the Falkirk Wheel was designed by British Civil Engineer and it’s used for every day use. 👍
@@exclusivescottishvisits4757 thanks for this info. I will take a visit next time I’m near the area.
Hello John. I was delighted to see a new episode on the podcast when I got off work tonight. I look forward to hearing more about Edinburgh in June and meeting you in person in the fall.
Thanks for listening
Re producing tears! It would appear that many of those involved in the Post Office scandal are very good at crying when they think it will help. See Paula Vennels et al. No one was fooled. It was insulting to say the least, to all those spms and others victimised and affected by the post office. Shameful! 🙏⚖️🙏
Oh what a brilliant Easter egg story! The RNLI are such a worthy charity. I've seen several rescue videos and the volunteers are so brave! Well done Mr Sinclair. Hope to get to Sandy soon. Only a drive away! 😁🙏🏴🇮🇪🙋👍👌
Wonderful humour John! Only from Scotland! Great podcasts! 👍🙋🇮🇪🏴🙏😁
Thank you, delighted you enjoyed it. Couldn’t agree more about Post Office scandal and you picked up my reference without me mentioning names. Well done. 😂 Please Share and let’s get the info out!! ❤
Bit silly really
Great to see the tradition is being kept alive. Love the added entertainment provided by the collie puppies and Highland cows. 🐑 🐮🐶
What backward crap is this ...
The ramp is on its last legs like most of the UK.
Man powered turntable.....What next?
Can see now why it's the last of its kind. Very curious relic.
What a crazy design, time to get rid of that boat and replace it with a better design that works! ( Scotland use to have great shipyards along the Clyde years ago)
Absolute classic and still works, probably because it was built in Scotland. I hope the old lady continues for many years to come.
If it still works why on earth would you retire her to replace her with something that won't last as long. I like the grand old lady. ❤
Well, obviously does work! It’s great there’s something like that still running- long may it continue!
@@exclusivescottishvisits4757but they can't build ferries today in Scotland as you well know!!
@@bertiewooster3326 It's a community owned ferry. This is not the place for your rancid political views.
Good to see the Glenelg ferry still running!
Absolutely stunning 😊 We've just discovered your channel so looking forward to following your adventures ❤🏴 We love our trips up to Scotland Hope you are well Morgs Jo and Boo 🐕
Thank you for sharing 😊 A very informative video We love visiting the Loch Ness area but we are unable to visit Urquhart castle as it's not dog friendly, so we loved this Morgs Jo and Boo 🐕
Hi there, as it happens I’ve video’d a short tour of the castle for a piece I’m doing on the Stone of Destiny. That will be up in the next couple of weeks. You’ll get notification. Thankyou for listening 👍
I wish you could add video just for us to watch what your describing. With that said, I want to say thank for doing the podcast! Keep up the great work!
See my American Scottish Foundation video for tour of Edinburgh castle 😃
Visited Skye a few years ago , a truly wonderful place . Getting down to Neist Point lighthouse is ok but getting back to the top really does tug on the lungs especially on a hot day ! Hope to get back and visit one day 👍
Couldn't agree more - probably the reason I filmed from above rather than trecking all the way to the bottom. :)
From experience do be careful when the paths are wet as the repairs to the surface become like ice. Otherwise a stunning place to visit!
@@steves5172 yes I loved my holiday on Skye . We stayed at Upper Milovaig , not too far from the lighthouse. I did underestimate the size of the island, I need to come back and explore some more 👍
Wonderfulllll! I need to be there! Thanks for video! 🙋🏴🇮🇪🙏
How unusual and informative! Thank You so much for the video and information. Skal

Hi Rainkatt, I also visited around that time - no smart visitors' centre or cooked lunch and it was fun sharing the ruin with some sheep. All changed now. I also recall visiting Culloden Battlefield around the same time and it was the same, no facilities and a wooden hut where an old boy took a small sum of money for entry. Those were the days! :)
I visited back in 1975, there was no modern anything then, only the ruins and sheep. I remember sitting on those lower walls and eating a cold meatpie 🥧😊 My friend and I missed the last bus back to Inverness and had to hitchhike back 😂

@exclusivescottishvisits4757 I also remember an old caravan up top where you would park. It was a gift shop, a young, good looking man in a kilt sold items. I still have the pewter Nessie keybob I bought there!
@@rainkatt Yep, I have a Nessie ceramic model! Comes in 4 pieces, you know, humps a neck and tail. By the way if you are a Podcast listener, I do the 'Unique Scotland' Podcasts all over Scotlnad. Enjoy.

I can see the Trebuchet us still there! Been a few years now since I was there. 🙋🏴🇮🇪
Yes, I'm pleased to see they have retained it here. Good film inside the visitor centre to see how it is used.
WOW! 😀🇮🇪🏴🙋
