I bet there are a variety of lovely scents throughout .
moist smelling!
Shame it was built and wasted
I agree.
Man that's heartbreaking...
Nice ride! 45North should use this to demonstrate an answer to the question "do I really need studs on ice?" Yes, yes you do.
Looks perfect!
Where is Malden Island? The only one that I know of is in the South Pacific near Hawaii. Amelia Earhart disappeared near there. This doesn't look like that island though as it's obviously not tropical. So where is it? The only other time I've heard of Malden is a city in Massachusetts.
Named after the city you spoke of it is located in Five islands, Georgetown, Maine on Sheepscott bay.
@@dfoster210 Thank you! I never knew there was an island in Maine named after Malden, Massachusetts. Thanks again great video!!
Sad to see. Mother Nature will always have the last word though. I speak from over 50 years on Alaskan waters and many times holed up on anchor watch in a sheltering bay or cove under such conditions, or conversely, wishing I could have made it into one. Sorry for the owners and the community. Let the renewal begin!
If the ocean really wanted to, it could swallow up the whole west and east coast with ease. Then, Las Vegas would be beachfront property.
Is this an insurance scam?
Get used to it
Mother nature, so fierce and beautiful at the same time, hopefully everyone was rescued and safe.
Well, ocean rise is inevitable. Might want to think about increasing the elevation of those houses when the weather permits.
Try to deny climate change, now.
All built on the melted remains of another structure.
Good riddance
Can't imagine why those structures were not built on pilings set at least 10 feet above the highest sea level recorded in the past century.
Coming to a coastal town near you
Sea levels rising
Climate change is real. Millions are going to lose everything because of it. Republicans cut regulations because they are in the pockets of the oil companies. Now people are being covered by the sea. Burned out in massive fire storms. Frozen to death in mega snow storms. It’s happening now. We were warned.
Mother Nature is not to blame here the people are the guilty ones
the cookhouse is a community cookhouse for the residents of these two islands. also missing is the bridge between them, the docks and boardwalks.
🟥🚨🟥 Next on the Menu: American Human Habitat Loss, Managed Retreat *[ if that's even possible anymore ]...irreversible abrupt climate change is already here. 🟥🚨🟥
This was the third major coastal storm since Sept and then two back to back storms in one week alone. There was serious damage all along our coast. Climate change is happening.
It is exactly the same on the West Coast.
It's all beautiful until your house floats away
Those poor people. Where will they vacation in the summer? Horrible. Worse than Gaza.
lol
Go fishing right off the porch. What fun. Waterfront property is great. St. Paul,Minnesota.
Build houses next to an ocean? I don’t feel bad for you.
Love the footage hate the music. Thumbs up, tho.
Your Malden Island video was much better without the music…the sound of the ocean is always beautiful.
WTH are you people crying about? Where's all the death and destruction? Looks to me like the people that put up these building did a pretty good job of getting them off the ground just the right amount. Maybe some wet flooring around the edges but pretty amazing none the less. They obviously had a good idea of the high water mark from somewhere in the past. Huh......
I don't think anyone was talking about climate change when it was built nearly 90 years ago. We understood it was in jeopardy and it was simply a matter of when, not if. There wasn't higher ground that it could be moved to as it is a very small island and mostly ledge. The good news is that no one was hurt as no one was there at the time.
Lame
Drill baby drill
It would be worth living there if you could afford to rebuild. I live on the Southern Oregon coast. But I’m 250’ above sea level. I would love to be down closer to the water but couldn’t afford to rebuild. I hope the homes can be repaired.
People that wanted to have a house by the ocean are finding they are having a house on the ocean. They still got the view.
I love this area, All the housing sewer goes directly into water right outside your house. Were swimming in poop.
Nope. We have our own sewage treatment facility.
Disrespect Mother Nature. Expect to suffer 😢
Hahahahahahaha
Is this footage from the initial storm that took the dining hall down or is this from another storm?
Anyone know if this cook house was on someone’s property? Or was it built on land owned by the county. We’re they using it for neighborhood parties? There are many people who try to extend their property by building structures like beach houses covered outdoor kitchens etc etc. it’s gone now.🤷🏼♀️
This property is owned by a yaught club and used as summer homes.
Reminds of the blizzard of 1978 in Massachusetts! 😮
worse than that!
Love the music!
Great footage! Not sure I would risk my drone in weather like that but people need to see this stuff. Unfortunately, properties like this will eventually become un-insurable as climate change marches onward.
It's not climate change dude. This has more to do with what's going on with the Sun and the degradation of our magnetic shield around the planet...and don't forget the WEF weather manipulators.
@philbuell6657 that sounds like quite the theory to be absolutely 💯 to tell someone else it isn't
You’ll be going on about chem trails next 😂
y'all didn't get the memo? the sea level *is* rising and will continue to do so. And we are talking about 5, 10, 15, 20+ feet over the next several decades (20, 30 years, which is not very long, within our lifetime)
Annoying 🎵🎶
Trump build big wall with big hands and keep you safe 🤡
Those waves got here illegally!
Birth pangs, you must be born again.
Hang in there! Remember climate change is hoax, everything's fine....
"Goodbye Stranger"...Supertramp!
So question from one not living on the water…is this tide going to recede and this will be an island once more?
yes, this was an astronomical high tide. However, the water is in general getting higher so, decades ago the worst storms would do some damage but nothing like this. Water is rising.
