Interesting & varied story. It must take a lot, financially & emotionally, to stick with such a competitive sport thru thick & thin. Are there any disadvantages to not being part of a ski race academy, in terms of on hill coaching & particularly off hill things like sports psychology & logistics?

First day training at base since Sweden, very different condition to the ice we had there! We did some powder the day before and someone ended up in a river...let me know any question you have and i can answer them in the next video?

How'd you go about funding this? As i assume you wont be making money from prize pools and such from races

It seems the skis almost get a better deal than the human(s) for space, but how to service them without power & light??! And why the GS skis if only racing SL?

I love snow skiing, but personally prefer slolam water ski, over slolam snow skiing, and anyway it gives me something to do in the offseason

Little bit of a different behind the scenes today! We’ve Moved to France! Most British Alpine ski racers move abroad to train since the UK isn’t exactly known for its snow (apart from a bit in Scotland). We take a trip to Annecy to get our French visas sorted!

We were really hoping that Day 4 would be the one-but unfortunately, it got canceled. As you might expect with a weather-dependent sport, this isn’t unusual. In fact, I’ve even experienced a race being called off after just the first run! Still, we made the best of it by visiting Santa’s Village and then starting our journey back to France. Guess the next race location...
