    $600 is a little weird tbh. A nanlite Fc500B is at a similar price. Obviously different use case but that's a lot of money for only 80 watts. Or am I trippin?

    • @favouredcinematographerii8110
      @favouredcinematographerii8110 Місяць тому

    • @alexgrant311
      @alexgrant311 Місяць тому

      @scott_stevenson I don't necessarily think the features are that important. They are a nice to have. It would be cool to see the brand maybe package 2 or 3 of these together in a mini carrying case in order to make a mini kit. $600 for a low powered niche light is a lot when similar results can be achieved with other resources. I really like it but the price point seems like it should be cheaper for what you're actually getting.

    • @scott_stevenson
      @scott_stevenson Місяць тому

      @@alexgrant311 for you the features might not be important but for a professional Gaffer working on large production they are essential in 2024. $600 is very affordable. Output is not the most important factor in a lighting fixture. If you invest in quality gear it will last through many jobs and you will get a return on your investment. If you buy cheap stuff it will break then you need to continually buy new lights because they get water damage out in the rain or the cables connections are cheap and get pulled out and damaged. Buy once Cry once.

      @@randyrektor I was thinking the same thing. I prefer Multicam as well. I forgot to mention that in the tutorial but that is definitely something they could improve in the final version. This is a beta hopefully some of the other features work better as well

    We are already saturated with equipment with 2.4Ghz frequency, and if you use it at an event where there are more than 200 wireless devices (such as cell phones, screens, electronic equipment) it might not be as good as the Solidcom C1 that works at 1.9Ghz.

    Think DJI will drop something very spicy. I’m gonna hold off on that. As a solo op sometimes it’s tempting not to mention the transmission system and ecosystem for small/ medium crews is a freaking joy. They’re on the up and up that’s for sure.

    I think we need to relearn how to appreciate what we already have. We’re constantly influenced by new cameras and gadgets. I mean, you have two RED cameras-Helium and Monstro-such amazing sensors! What can the Pyxis do better than the REDs?

    • @scott_stevenson
      @scott_stevenson 2 місяці тому

      @@SuperJackBoom workflow. Ease of use. Definitely need a crew for the RED cams. Blackmagic cams on the other hand are a bit easier for solo Operators. Also like I mention in the video I think it will be great for podcasting. Different Jobs require different tools. There is some overlap but not every camera works for every situation

    Not gonna lie. I was skeptical on the Pyxis. Then I got it and it’s 97% of everything I wanted in a camera. It’s amazingly good and it’s not just a rehoused Bmcc 6K. New adjustments and added features are really enjoyable. But whatever route you take, I believe in you. You got this!

    I’m in the same boat. All these new cameras look tempting but the truth is I really don’t “need” them. By the way, congrats on the new grip truck, looks amazing.
