Two intelligent people hilariously making fools of themselves by behaving like feuding kids. As others have pointed out, John and Gloria both threw strong home truths at each other.

This journalist can’t accept the fact that the times have changed and is shocked that peace activists like John are standing up instead of toeing the line and surrendering to the status quo.

He spoke up when many people didn’t, including the other Beatles. And he gets criticized because he ‘didn’t do enough’ or whatever. He doesn’t owe this snobby reporter or anyone else a damn thing. He could have sat at home, ignored the entire war, and never had any of these conversations in the first place. It’s crazy how people who essentially want the same thing argue with each other, comparing who’s more committed, as if it’s some kind of competition.

He must have been very hard work to be around. It must have been like dealing with a small child at times - all the attention had to be on him..

I always wished that John Lennon was a good person, but I always feared that he wasn't. This is just another one of his attempts to puff himself up in order to appear intimidating. Emerson is absolutely right. He is vulgar and self-aggrandizing, and he advocated John Lennon before peace.

So I was born in 1990. My parents were huge Beatles fans. They were born in 59 and 60 been together since ninth grade in high school so they were huge fans. So I’ve grown up around listening to the Beatles and then Paul McCartney and Lennon. My dad used to always say, nothing nice about her and after seeing the way she sits there and kinda knows she has his mind in her control goes to show me he was right. She is a fucking Cunt.

Gloria is being a complete bitch here, she could have stated these exact opinions to Lennon without being so provocatively condescending. Although Yoko's simplistic dull way of putting things did work against his point.

Celebrities should just stay out of these issues and do what they do best. I remember an interview with Elvis where they asked him about his opinion of the Vietnam war. He said 'Honey, I'm just an entertainer so I prefer to keep my opinions on controversial topics to myself.' That's how Lennon handled things until Yoko got involved.

Funny how things change. For years I’ve seen this interview and the comments were pro Lennon. Now they are comments in ridicule. This woman was a fraud and you know it. Smug and self aggrandizing. Lennon was a powerful figure. His words mattered. She’s long forgotten except by a few pseudo intellectuals.

It’s strange to see how stubborn she could be. I was alive when this interview happened. I was 12 or 13 and I knew that he was trying to turn his fame into a chance to tell us to stop killing each other. No wonder they hated him. The war was ridiculous and brought only suffering to the world.
