Great job it looks really cool, can I make one suggestion as a fellow guitar builder please get yourself a big router, that little battery powered thing is designed for finish work and you are a good enough builder to deserve a powerful router that you don't have to struggle so hard with!
Lol, youre absolute right.😅
Amazing work! Wow!
Gibson lawsuit in 3... 2...
That is not a joke. I build guitars too (formerly in Arnhem, the Netherlands, now in Spain. Aspe Guitars). During my first years I built several Gibson LP copies until I was visited at my stand during a guitar show by a lawyer from Gibson! They gave me a very serious last warning.
Look at all that wood Porn. Oh LORD!!!!!! Great work Sir.
You are by far the best luthier I’ve seen on UA-cam. I’m deeply impressed by your ability to create such a precise masterpiece without using equipment like CNC machines. Thank you for sharing an amazing guitar build video!
Thank you for youre nice comment
What kind of brush is that how do you clean it?
I don't do it.
It is a les paul because it is definitely not a stratocaster , and it wasn't made by gibson ., but its spect as a les Paul
I love to see people use the proper truss rod when making a les Paul style guitar
The amount of detail and precision is impressive to say the least. Mindfulness of every aspect is essential for quality at this caliber. Awesome build. Much respect…
Thanks for the nice comment
How much does the wood cost? Like the big long piece you cut first up?
That was a €151,- piece flamed maple.
@@wkmetaal NOT CHEAP!!!!
Fantastisch mooie gitaar... Fret nibs en het zou helemaal geweldig zijn .... Top man!!
Dank voor je reactie. Fret nibs lijken idd zeer fraai.
Amazing build and very inspiring! Cheers from Sweden!
Top gitaar, top video! Petje af hoor!
Stunning!
vakmanschap is meesterschap!!!!.
That's not a Les Paul. It's a fake video.
Thank you for the comment.
@@wkmetaal Any time, mate.
Dont tell little bruh but the youtube is full of people making their own les paul
Hoi! Ik word getipt door mijn collega bij COA voor jouw gitaren. Ziet er geweldig uit. Kan ik hem komen bespelen?
Bedankt voor je reactie, via je collega kunnen we wel wat regelen. Mag ze alle drie uitproberen.
It was an interesting video, something to pass the time while I’m at work, but I did notice one thing …whatever router you have under that router table. It is severely underpowered that thing sounds like it’s dying just some constructive criticism I wouldn’t go with anything less than 3 hp.
Sound video 👎
That's a lot of filing on the neck. I thought you would have a clever little jig for this too, anyway, I enjoyed the video. I'm amazed by your tonewood inventory, it's like a candy shop.
Thank you for your response. Filing the guitar neck gives me a bit more the feeling that I manually make a guitar
Thanks for sharing, I'm about to begin a LP build but with some different approaches. I was surprised with the binding in the lower cutaway that you didn't reduce the wood height there manually with a carve so the maple didn't show under the binding. I'm very impressed with your use of your own created jigs and techniques. Very clever thinking throughout this whole video!
You're absolutely right about that. This applies only to the guitars made between 1952 through 1960. ( source reference: book " The beauty of the burst") with this build guitar, I kept the dimensions of Les Paul's 1959. The donut ring you see in the video provides the lift up
@@wkmetaal Thanks for taking the time to reply, I genuinely didn't know that about the year difference. That's my evenings reading sorted!
Your work is truly admirable, like a piece of art. I’d like to ask you a question: which template did you use? Did you purchase it from StewMac? Also, where did you get or download the paper that was on the benxh? I’m planning to do some research on Les Paul as well, so I wanted to ask you for this information. Many thanks!
I have the templates from Germany (guitabou.de). The drawing (plan) from Bartlett guitar parts.
Extremely nice!!! ❤
Stunning guitar! I know that it represents an incredible amount of effort and attention. If it plays and sounds half as good as it looks, it is a killer! Congratulations 🍾
Thanks for the comment, yes it is a killer.
I like the mojo tone 59 too and have put them in my build, they sound wonderful and are quite affordable.
Thank you for your comment, and yes these sound very good, am happy with it.
Weer een mooi stukje vakwerk
Dank je, Arno.
Great vid, excellent luthier, and a beautiful guitar. Well done my friend.
Thanks for youre nice comment.
Peccato !
Thanks for youre nice comment. It would be better if Gibson did it this way. the construction of the neck becomes much stronger. the glued surface is also stronger than the wood itself. The wood grain then continues a lot more evenly up to the tuners
Mind-blowing result! And an insane amount of work. Your video as well as LPJ style build from Fletcher Handcrafted Guitars really makes you understand why Les Pauls are so expensive.
Thank you for the comment. I have looked a lot at Fletcher guitars, nice guitars and jigs.
Beautiful build,
Fabulous presentation, stunning build result, thank you for taking the trouble and time to record and share.
Thanks, it was a great pleasure.
stunning build. Is there a link for your favour guitars wood shop?
Thanks for the comment, try this: www.af.nl
Do you build for customers or strickly personal ?? Absolutely well done. What was the final weight ?? Cheers
I try to sell this third guitar, but it will not be sent. The weight is 4,7kg.
@wkmetaal Ok, awesome job. Good luck with the sale :). It's a pretty guitar.
What weight have your previous builds come out to? Are your wood selections allowing you to target a given final weight? Thx!
The first build LP is 5,2kg The second (is chambered) also on my channel on UA-cam, is 4,5 kg. This third build is 4,7kg. But the visual aspect of the wood is preferable.
Grandissimo lavoro, complimenti!! Great build, with my super compliments!!
Thank you for your nice comment.
Beautiful build.
I'm in awe with the jigs you use, they're super smart! Great build!
Thanks, UA-cam is full of beautiful ideas.
Prachtig! Scherp oog voor detail, ben jaloers…..
Dank je.
Wood store have a link for buy online ? , great build btw 😍
Yes they have, but that is very limited. Better find out there on the spot. www.af.nl
it is necessary to join together with a hand plane before gluing
You need two perfectly flat edges, it depends on how flat they are to start with, if they are close, then sanding can achieve this, if not then planing should be used, I suppose routing and then sanding could also be employed.
What is this drill with which you drill the trusrod nut channel
It is a self made drill with diameter16mm. Buying the original drill? at Stewmac.com - truss rod access cutter.
Can you do a video on how you set the adjustment for the router bit depth when you start? I am very interested in this type of duplicator. The videos just have the in process of the carving, or the bit on the router is up assuming for just checking the paths and alignment. But how do you know how far to set the router depth? Do you just set it at the highest flat peak on the original and then drop the bit depth till it just barely touches the copy?
Yes youre last three lines are exactly what I am doing. The routing is in around three dept stages. Then there will be 7mm over on the thinnest side, for the binding and sanding
...cause this is INSANE! Awesome job!
Is there any point in asking you how such guitar can be ordered? What is the price and what would be the delivery time? Thank you!
In November 2024 I expect to finish my third Les Paul guitar. that one is for sale, but will not be shipped. Will also be seen on my youtube channel soon. I am from the Netherlands. You might also like to look at my second guitar building. also on my youtube channel.

Nice job! 👏🏻 Looks stunning! Love the ebony board/overlay and that you didn't have fret "nibs". They look great, but I prefer to have full fret width to avoid gaps/potential future issues. That burst is phenomenal and it sounded great as well!
What do you do with all your off cuts?
Love the Panama
