I just bought this guitar new for $640 in Mesa Az on Black Friday and at this price point it is stealing considering the specs and build quality. It is an all around player for sure as it sounds good with strumming and finger picking. It has nice action out of the box and a full sound that rings like a bell with sustain for days. I opted for this model instead of the E2D because I wanted the cutout to get access to the extra frets for when I play breaks, but it obviously doesn't have the same low end as the dread body. Too bad Eastman stopped making cutout dreads because that would be the best of both worlds!

You incorrectly state the woods. Per Ibanez' web page, the woods in this model are "Linden top, Bocote back, Bocote sides". Not maple.

Does it dig into the bicep at all? I'm having issues with acoustics digging into my bicep during prolonged play

It sounds good, but I don't like the input jack on top of the guitar.

Okay, I just played one of these an hour ago and it's a fantastic guitar for the price. It's not particularly pretty and the neck is kinda ugly, BUT, this thing sounds incredible! I'm in Canada so I need something hardy and durable to carry around because of extreme weather. Once you get used to the neck feeling a bit weird it's a great guitar and I'm going to get one for winter playing.

The heading for this video asks "Is HPL Any Better Than Solid Wood?" I don't believe I heard the answer to that. From what I know, HPL (high-pressure laminate) is less sensitive to temperature and humidity changes, so it's more stable than "real wood" acoustic guitars. It can be treated more like a solid-body electric.

This guitar feels great to play and sounds really good. Maybe overpriced by a hundred bucks but still a Martin, a nice Martinez :)

Strange.. My 3C looks different. I have a different sound hole design and my top which is cedar is much lighter in colour. I also don't have the square logo or sticker as seen on the top of your guitar

I made a deposit today to get an Alhambra 5P CW E8 model. And it's beautiful! I tried out an inexpensive model at the music store; what a fantastic well-balanced guitar! If mine sounds as good, great! There was only one available and it's all the way in Ontario.

I bought this guitar brand new in July 2024. It does sound awesome. Play the G chord and you will hear the "martin sound"! I got mine for $857 out the door from Musicians Friend.

I had a d13e zircotte I traded it up on a d18. In my opinion the zircotte sounds even better than the sirrus. It was a fantastic guitar

So many “tone woods” are endangered, rare and very expensive. I like sapele because it’s sustainable, beautiful and sounds great. Guitar makers, especially manufacturers of acoustic instruments, need to start thinking outside the box about woods. And even manufactured wood and laminated products.

The newer G5420T guitars are made in China. If you look around for an older model, you can get one that was made in Korea. Most of the Korean made guitars were built in the Samick factory and are really high quality. They were getting too expensive to produce there, so they moved production to China.
