Thank you for this information
Great to see you back!
Happy to see you back after a much deserved break! I watched another flock haul video and that they purchased the Manor collection too and it looked so good. I was so happy to be able to find it and order the sport base from the Modern Skein, I got the light brown Aberdeenshire to make a Traveler Crew. It's soo soft and squishy!
Purple Lamb fiberarts yarn has a stainglass sock line that has the black/white plied in the hand dyed that you might like.
If you are driving, you can take all of the yarn. If you are flying, I would suggest smaller skeins/projects.
Some nice projects and ideas there! Nice to catch up with you! I would take some small projects, so i would also say the Oslo hat and the 2 skeins for the Dotted Rays shawl :) Have fun and thanks for sharing!
I watched Amy from The Fat Squirrel, and she will be at WI Sheep and Wool. I am from WI. I always liked the cheddar cheese with salami in it. Also try and have some kind of meats from Usingers. I also love, love, love the brand Milwaukee Polish Pickles. If you can, get down to the lake front in Milwaukee. If you are not close, Madison is a great town. Enjoy family, festival, and of course, knitting. Kim
I can't help you deciding but when you held up the bigger vs the smaller cake I thought that as your knitting the bigger one will get smaller quite quickly! 😄
Have a lovely holiday, Kristen. It was great to catch up with you again.
Sister in law’s husband would be your brother in law at least that’s what I would say. I love the yarn you used for the Oslo.
Enjoyed hanging out with you! I'd say Dotted Rays- that yarn looks gorgeous and the Oslo Hat.Both easy for hanging with family and socializing at the festival. And Shane will have his hat ready for the cooler weather. Safe Travels! Have a great time!
For what it’s worth I am voting for the Dotted Rays. That yarn is really fun and will keep your interest and then you’ll have some thing to switch off from the traveler. 😊
I agree!
Me three!
It was so good to see you again. How fun that you were able to attend the festival. How did you do with all the walking? It will be fun to see what all the yarn becomes. Enjoy where you are today😊 Kim
Wow thank you for this information. I’m now going to sort mine out. I first used ravelry a few years ago to buy patterns. I then learned there was so much more to it but never got a good grip on it. I’m planning to move house next year and so o am going through the whole house including my stash. So now I feel o can do that a lot better!
Stupid question: what exactly IS a sweater quantity?
Not a stupid question. I think it's different for everyone and yarn weights, but in the simplest, an amount of yarn you need to knit a sweater. For me, it's about 600-700g of DK or Worsted or 400g of fingering weight, but it really depends on the sweater too
I also like to note ‘closest color’, esp with fancifully-named yarns Ike ‘salty dog;.
I’m so happy to see you ❤❤❤. Look at those new plants behind you😊😊. Beautiful knitting Kristen. I’m glad you took time for yourself and recognized that you needed a break. Love you friend❤
Question answered! Indeed, you were at Flock! I should have came over and said hi!
I'm sad to have missed you at Flock! We must've circled and missed each other! However, my SIL is in Oregon, so you never know!
Maybe that loose plied yarn you could knit it with an added yarn and have almost a boucle effect. Cute cowl and hat maybe?
I also have discovered Combination Continental style for my purls to be even. So glad you are back. It's good to take a break at times.😊
I sometimes will use combination for my ribbing patterns because it does look a but neater for me.
Hooray for Brave the Seasons getting you multiple bingo squares! I love them in that moody colorway. Wow!
You took a well deserved break but it’s good to see you back. I love all the yarn you got at Flock! It’s sounds like a really fun festival. 😀🧶
I finished the sock bingo black out this year too. It’s amazing how different our socks can be while ticking off the same squares. Flock sounds like a wonderful event to attend. Maybe someday.
Lovely to see you back. Flock sounded wonderful.
Hi Kristen, it was lovely to catch up after your summer break with such a long video. We all have our preferences for sock knitting needles. I started with dpns and they remain my preferred sock needles. It's good knitting weather in the southern hemisphere at the moment. I'm in progress with a pair of socks and a fingering-weight cardigan. Take care and I'm looking forward to more frequent updates.
I want to be you so I can knit all those sweaters and vests so quickly. Great job on the test knit. -A
1. I'm so surprised that you watched my video 🤯🥰 2. Thats very sweet, they did take about 2 months, so maybe that's fast? But no sleeves definitely help! 3. I want to be you, so that I knew how to record my videos with my computer using OBS - which I asumme you use, but I can't wrap my mind around it 😅 Thanks for watching!!!!
It was such a special treat to spend my Friday night knitting and watching! It was a perfect way to end my work week. Love everything that you are doing. It’s so much fun to get a front row seat!
I'm not sure how to put in non full skeins into my statch. I get confused.
It’s lovely to see you, Kristen, and catch up on all your projects including the pretty embroidery. Waving hello from Tasmania 👋🏼
Hi i don't know if you still check this but i can't figure out how to add an ISO post to the destash page - or is that not the correct place to put it? help would be very much appreciated - Michelle
I love the way your corner to corner is coming out! It looks beautiful ❤
Gorgeous fiber! I love them both the dark jewel tone and the light that you chain plied. Loved watching!
As always, I truly enjoy your podcast . That scrappy blanket is going to be so cozy! I am so excited I won the sock set !! Thank you so very much ! I sent you an email, and I hope you have a wonderful week.
I am knitting the Spiral Knit Tube socks by Leef Bloomenstiel and they are fun to knit. Very different with no heel. It's a free pattern on Ravelry.
ICord maker? I didn’t know such a thing existed. What one do you use?
It is amazing. The icord maker I use is called the Cordsmith
I don't really have any spring knitting planned. It's still quite cold here. My bulbs have bloomed but we had snow again last week so I'm not feeling too spring-y at the moment😄 P.S. Love the colors for the g****away 🙃
I love your hoodie! Now I want to make one. 😂 it will be nice for those cool spring evenings and mornings.
Great to have you back. Spring is here in the UK but it's chilly here. I'm knitting the crunkled socks currently, and wondering what to do next. Our next festival here will be Unravel Autumn for me.
Hello Kristen 💐 thank you for your new episode ❤ i love spring - everything starts to grow - long dogwalks in the wood where everything is fresh green 💚 love it 😊 Greets Kati ❤
So glad your ankle should be healing fine. Shane has good taste in color, the color absolutely gives me a good mood. I am so ready for spring.. (have been scraping ice again this week) Also wondering.. is alpaca not a little hot for summer?
Hello, there’s no way to gift a stashed yarn to a friend and then it goes to their stash, is there ? For example, I bought a skein of dream in color for me, and one for my mom, that I planned on gifting to her later. There’s no way I can click on something on ravelry when I gift it to her that then puts it in her stash one of those skeins right?
glad you are on the mend and you can enjoy spring
Planning to get my garden ready this spring and maybe cast on a new shawl. Would love to use my handspun as well.
Speedy recovery!!!
It really doesn't feel like spring yet where I live... Last week we even had a hail storm 🥲 So I just started a new Sophie Shawl in yarn I had lying around, but I secretly hope I won't be able to wear it this spring 🌺
Hi Kristen, thanks for another chatty episode. That sock yarn really does remind me of Spring. Down here in NZ we're in Autumn so Spring seems a while away. 😊
Your spinning is inspiring. The Attune shawl drapes perfectly on you too. We are not heading into spring where I am, so my cold feet and I are a bit jealous, but your shopping for those lovely green skeins reminded me that I have some cotton to knit up. Takes me a while to knit garments, so I’ll be dragging that out with dreams of winter - which is always just wet and windy here - being done. Looking forward to seeing your blocked Traveller hoodie modelled in the next ep.
Hi Kristen, so glad you are healing, and your PT is going well. I would love to use that great colored yarn for a pair of socks. I plan to spend time in my yard planting some really colorful flowers. Of this Spring! Of course, not this weekend since we got snow here in Colorado. :)
That bright green looks just like the hostas coming up in my back garden this Spring! They will make such cute socks! Thank you for keeping me company while I’m knitting tonight. Sending good healing vibes.
So glad to hear you’re on the mend! Spring this year is baby blankets and garden clearing 🥰
Your knitting and spinning projects are lovely. Spring, or pollen season here in GA, is almost over. Really enjoying the warm temps and low humidity. I hope your recovery continues to go well. Enjoy your day, Kim
