This is already running much better than the build I saw from a few months ago! The Genesis can handle the audio for the cart-only version (there are excellent Z80 drivers if you're using the 68K for game logic). Running in (optional) 32X CD-enhanced mode you could do FMVs and enhanced audio (if there's enough space you could do CD audio for example, otherwise the 68K in the Sega CD could decode fairly decent quality ADPCM or a similar format). As far as the level data goes... for a complete port that can run with or without the Sega CD, you'd need a bankswitcher in the cart.
