💫 Hiiii, My name is Emily Nicole Roberts and I've got a condition called Cerebral Palsy, this means that I'm wheelchair bound. It also means that I can make amazing content showing you how I live and live WELL with a disability! 💫
💫 I want to inspire others and show them that a disability isn't limiting, instead, we are limitless! 💫

‘how emily’
hello guys!!!!!
sorry i have been gone for so long but i’ve been a little bit busy…
at the beginning of the year, BBC radio wales commissioned an idea for me to be on the radio!!
after lots of planning, scripting and recording i’m so excited to share ‘how emily’ with you.
little emily would’ve loved to hear someone talking so candidly about the good times and the not so good times when you have a disability, also, she would’ve thought i was nuts trying out the things i do in the first episode.
i’d love to have any feedback good or bad as i’ve never been on the radio before and you guys have been with me from day one…
also!!!! if anyone has some ideas for videos, please let me know as i only started this channel to help peeps!!
hope you’re all okay and thank you for listening to the show if you do..

Me & My Chair (For Simon)
Переглядів 6732 роки тому
The relationship with my wheelchair and accepting my disability hasn't always been what it is now… I started this UA-cam channel to show “little me” that we could achieve anything in life. My videos are to show everyone (including myself) my ability. I want to be raw and I want to be real because not everything is perfect on social media or in real life. Keep going, you’re going to be more than...

How Emily: Spoke to the Prime Minister and Welsh Secretary Of State
Переглядів 5323 роки тому
Hiiiiiii As I was made an honouree ‘Point Of Light’ for my advocacy for disability and the work I do online to promote equality and positivity. I was asked by the UK Government if I would agree to a small zoom meeting where (unbeknown to me) The Prime Minister and Welsh Secretary of State would not only talk with me about my overall personal aims but also commend me for my current content. As a...
How Emily: Learns to transfer again
Переглядів 3,6 тис.3 роки тому
So, I had a new car which I could drive but couldn't transfer or lift myself into. It really set me back, I cried, screamed and got really angry, (sorry mum and dad). After LOADS of encouragement and trying every way except using the kitchen sink, i've got there. Differently abled people find themselves adapting and overcoming new challenges every single day, please, don't give up, you'll find ...

How Emily: Tries not to laugh with mum
Just found your channel from Tinder. Lmao some of these comebacks are hilarious 😂, get em girl 🤩
I thought "How Emily... " was a great radio show debut opening ears to what access is available for people with disabilities & your worries .It was entertaining & informative listening to you have a go & enjoy visiting a coal mine & sporting pursuits .I worry when I'm going out & access when I get .I've been lucky still attending music festivals & comedy clubs where lifts & ramps have been put in to make it easier for us with disabilities to visit . I hope you get a series & more apparences as a presenter on mainstream TV. It's time they had a young disabled travel & sports presenter ! we need more How Emily .. ! 😉
thank you neil ❤️

Thank you Phillip!!
I love how you can turn these ignorant arseholes comments around and make a witty joke from it without taking offence even though they don't deserve a full second of your time. I love watching your vids even going back to see the old ones, I think it's because I'd love such a happy, amazing and upbeat person in my life. Anyway take care beautiful hope to speak to you again! xx
Made a hell of a lot more sense than politicians in Texas. 😜
Hey, you think that's bad. When I was a kid, and people asked me what disability I had, and because I couldn't pronounce cerebral palsy well, it always sounded like I was saying "Serious Cornies" 🤪
Hi there Emily! I'm Chris, I'm from Swansea in South Wales and I often read Wales Online because every now and then there's a story that can literally cheers me up and remember that there are such amazing people out the, you, most definitely being one of them! Apart from the obvious things, in that I mean you're a very pretty young lady! I've watched back some of your previous videos and your amazing sense of humour, beautiful personality and really quick witt have kept me chuckling and so entertained. I just so hope you keep believing in yourself and striving to achieve things because you really deserve all the good things that will come your way. Anyway sorry, I'm yapping on and on, would be fantastic to talk to you one time and just keep showing the world that lovely smile x
Chris, you have made my day! Thank you for your support and kindness - you are awesome ❤️
There's no need to thank me I'm just being honest, even with the difficulties you face you have a fantastic outlook. Unfortunately I've suffered with mental health problems all my life and just watching your videos has helped me. I love your personality, you literally had me laughing out loud! I honestly think an hour chat with you could do amazing things for people who struggle with depression etc ( PS sorry for the long comments lol )
Thank you so much for this beautiful video. I hope you know, that by sharing your gifts of honesty and bravery, you are helping many people, including yourself. Also, you have a wonderful mom, and she has a wonderful daughter! Big hug from Canada!
Hi there, thank you so much for this message!! You are so very kind. Your support means the world and I’m sending you a big hug from Swansea ❤️
@@emilynicoleroberts9672 You are very welcome. Swansea? You live in a sea with swans? Sorry, poor joke! Okay, I found it on Google. I also live beside the sea. Born and raised on the British Columbia coast. I wouldn't want to live away from the sea. I love the salt air, the fresh breeze, the seabirds, the fish, the awesome views. Thanks very much for replying, when you must be so very busy. ❤
It is hard for handicap people to find someone to date is it hard for you too?
So many idiots, so little time!
Love this video! Children often ask about my chair and it is a wonderful educational opportunity. Thanks for using your patform to raise awareness and change perceptions. You're humanity, humor and kindness is an inspiration to all.
Thank you Kathryn, you’re amazing !!
I love your giggling
ohh!! thank you!!
I love chatting to kids it's the teenagers and adults I have issues with
Same!! Parents are seriously the worst sometimes!!! 😮😒🙁 You'd think that with them being the adults they'd be more respectful and set a better example for their children when speaking to/about disabled people around their kids. This has rarely been the case in my experience and it's sad.
Adults are worse than kids
Completely agree 😎
Another great, honest, video Emily. I am sure you can look forward to a long career as an influencer and advocate for Disabled people.
awww thank you so much Gordon! here’s hoping, thank you so much for your support 🤍
dont worry I have stomach problems since the war started and like 8 of my friends are already dead etc had to pretend to their kids the dads are stil alive etc this is normal for stress reactions
Not seen you in a long time
Always watch your videos Emily!
thank you so much for the support Guy 🤍
Hi Emily. Your videos must be so helpful, in particular, to people who have recently become wheelchair users. Like you, I get into the car bottom first. I am lucky because I have a lot of upper body strength, so I don't need a transfer board. I have seen people who prefer the feet-first technique.
Hey Gordon!! Thank you so much for your kind comments. Keep being awesome
I think I saw you in Haverfordwest today! I would have come over to say "Hello" but was taking my mum shopping and she was weary of the big fluffy mic. and camera.
Omg hello!!!! Yes, I was there with X-ray :)
@@emilynicoleroberts9672 Ah, okay, next time I'll be sure to say "Hello" :-)
Well done Emily. You are a tremendous representative of, and advocate for, Disabled people. You look great anyway if you don't mind me saying so.
Maybe you could get an umbrella holding attachment (you'll need one with the weather in Swansea).
I had my first wheelchair for me at about 14 and it became a deadly weapon round school - then left it for years - then felt annoyed when I had to go back in a wheelchair. You don't have to be dark about anything - you're a beacon now
Thank you Andrew
Was u ginger in comp lol
No, I don’t think so hahaha
@@emilynicoleroberts9672 who am I thinking of😦
What comp did you go to?
@@emilynicoleroberts9672 same as u it's nathan btw 🤦♂️
Emily please dont keep us hanging. Its been months betwen videos. I need to laugher to hear!
To Simon: Take EVERY single word she said! She tells the truth man! Even I went threw the SAME thing as a kid and teen. Well done Emily!
My wheelchair gives me freedom and access.
I've never felt like I wanted my impairment to disappear. You need to look into the social v the medical model of disability. Its really interesting to look into.
