    I’m starting to think this is due to the amount of screen usage causing irritation to the eye with collagen build up being the byproduct from the irritation. This is evident by the amount of younger folks also having this at a younger age than older generations of adults today. But what do I know ?

      Hello! You can have prescription inserts for the Pilla’s yes. There’s a series which have full prescription lenses too, the Raptor and 580/540 products. More costly but better vision as the insert doesn’t get in the way. Having said that, we make 100’s of inserts for people and they tend to get on well

    It's crazy how the shooting world puts so much into you must have x y and z to be able to shoot good scores. The turkish guy at olympics completely destroyed that narrative, good lenses, but necessary at the price point to shoot top scores- no, and that needs to be relayed to new beginners

    • @edlyonssportsvision9197
      @edlyonssportsvision9197 28 днів тому

      Absolutely. No need for beginners to go for the absolute best of everything, more progress will be made with practice and lessons. Once they’ve then reached a plateau, better quality products can make marginal gains. However, if people want to buy the best products they can afford, that’s their choice. I often guide my clients to really strip down the lenses they buy and spend more time behind the gun, but ensure the ones they have are the most fit for purpose

    Have you ever heard of an instructor suggesting canting the gun to get the rib between the eyes? Also, have you ever heard of people who experience the brain interpreting the view of the bird as being in a different place than they eyes see the bird if the shooter has some sort of sinus full ness?

      Hey Charlie! So this can be very frustrating. You may be able to tackle it by asking your Optometrist to improve the fit of the lenses, or maybe change design to something more stable. Alternatively you may need to look at a more interesting lens like Duette by Synergeyes

    • @edlyonssportsvision9197
      @edlyonssportsvision9197 Місяць тому

      Great question and I’d look at it a few ways; Sometimes, a prescription might have “changed” but not in a way that would necessitate changing you glasses, especially if the change is only subtle or in your non-shooting eye. If the prescription DOES change however, surely it’s better to have super crisp eyesight for shooting each time you go out, rather than settling for mediocre vision which may mean poorer performance

    Ed, great post I'm following you to this technical discussion that was cut from TGS. These look like a good investment. But. Only high and low-light versions exist for colour-blind orange / pink / red clays / . In your experience, do colour-blind shooters need other glasses as well? I note that there is a range of colours available for conventional shooters. Or would you have your colour-blind clients only use these? Also, here is a test for your production team, I cannot see the clay at 16:30 at all! It would be really great if you were able to filter this so that colour-blind viewers were able to see with and without glasses comparison. Bit of a challenge for your there, but what the hell. Summary? Great video that has made me think about getting these as an investment. My shooting scores will thank you if I do, my bank balance may be a little more tardy in its appreciation

    I have astigmatism in my left eye. I wanted to start wearing contacts for the first time. First, I got recommended by the optometrist bausch and lomb ultra and ohhh god, i couldn't see anything. Then i went to eye doctor and they said could be just the fit. I got recommended acuvue and cooper vision biofinity. I oredered acuvue and they are better but still my vision is a bit blurry especially when im reading subtitles. I see it quite double. I hear that the main problem for blurry vision is base curve. Mine is pretty big, they told me i have 8.11. Should i wait a bit more to get used to them? Or should i try different ones until i find the perfect match? With bausch and lomb i couldn't no matter how much i tried...

    Ed, I am right handed but left eye dominant due to being amblyopic in my right eye. No one talks about this condition as it’s not super common. But being that my right eye vision can’t be corrected and is around 20/50 uncorrected, I assume there is no way to train through that and you have to shoot from your dominant eye correct? Meaning that I would need to shoot left hand? Would love to hear your thoughts or discuss this with you

    • @edlyonssportsvision9197
      @edlyonssportsvision9197 7 місяців тому

      REALLY good question. In an ideal world, you would swap shoulders (see Richard Faulds as an example) however I have known some shooters work around this but they’re able to put 3000 rounds through the gun in a week to develop precise gun mount, muscle memory and target strategy, which is a very privileged position to be in!

    • @zackbutler950
      @zackbutler950 7 місяців тому

      @@edlyonssportsvision9197 I’m curious as to how someone can do it when essentially they’re looking down the left side of the barrel (assuming right handed/left eye dominant). Unless they’re rolling their head over far enough to align their left eye with the rib?

    • @edlyonssportsvision9197
      @edlyonssportsvision9197 7 місяців тому

      @@zackbutler950 agreed - and the only way it’s been described to me is “it’s a feel thing”. The shooter is aware of the visual imbalance, as such makes a compensation for target. For example, a RH left eye dom shooter would typically be behind a right to left target and in front of a leg to right (assuming all other technical issues are addressed) so, they consciously build in more lead than the sight picture dictates one way and subtract it the other. Straight driven are shot slightly off line to the right to then centre pattern the bird. The key is to train it so it becomes subconscious. However, this is ultra hard to do to any degree of international success
