    Very nice! I love Mexican chorizo and lucky for me, I have a pretty well known Mexican grocery store about 15 min away. I always thought that the pork was put through a grinder to get it that fine but it's nice to know you can get just about the same results by hand. I may give this a try. Thank you!

      When these are new the stone is not completely smooth, with this process you get rid of the imperfections it has which you will notice on the salt. If you skip this, these residues would end up on the food the first few times you use it.

    • @MexicanintheKitchen
      @MexicanintheKitchen 22 дні тому

      Not sure what would be exactly the same but I would try with some syrup like agave for example. Idea with honey is that it keeps everything together but doesnt get too hard so they are very soft

      I think if you are doing many thats the way to go its just way easier, my family used to do them like that as well but this way I like how the tortilla really absorbs the sauce. If I do them the other way, I will make a more liquid sauce and just soak them in it

      Sounds about right. Some people will use more oil than others and more or less sauce. Personally I like to leave some space on the center of the pan so that they are not completely submerged in oil and it drips some of that before serving

    If you want the salmiakki without the alcohol, you can get Haganol mixer. You can drink it straight, mix with mineral water or alcohol (e.g. try it with gin) and flavour vanilla ice cream or cakes or food or something. Of course, you can always make your own by dissolving Tyrkisk Peber in water instead of alcohol but an actual product might be a nicer gift and easier to get through customs and security checks. Oh, salmiakki, sal ammoniac, is the name of the ammonium salt and also the candy. Salmari is just a short nickname for salmiakkikossu (or salmiakkivodka). There are tons of similar word formations in spoken Finnish, like kevari, hevari, ruuvari, ysäri, jysäri, bemari, rivari, etc. Edit: Also, if you're going to shill for a company, it would be polite to tell us about it beforehand. If you did, I missed it.

Here’s an extract from wikipedia: “Gyoza are a Japanese version of jiaozi that were developed from recipes brought back by Japanese soldiers returning from the Japanese-backed puppet state of Manchukuo in northeastern China during World War II. The Japanese word gyōza derives from giǎoze, the Jilu Mandarin pronunciation of the standard Mandarin jiǎozi, and is often written using the same Chinese characters.”
