Hi. Sorry for reviving a years old video, but once I double-click on the Windows DVD (11:24), I get a blinking cursor in the top left corner for a few seconds, then the Win10 logo, then back to the blinking cursor on which it appears stuck. Any clue what I may have done wrong?
In the vain hope people still read the comments on these old videos? I have my new partition set to MSDos Fat, reboot into the windows installer and get as far as the Windows setup screen but when I click on 'format' in order to format it to ntfs it doesn't bring up any format options and just drops back to the error message 'windows cannot be installed on this partition' - any suggestions? 2010 Mid 21.5" iMac.
On my imac mid 2011(same as yours) i follow your instruction. Now the screen is black, said : "No bootable device -- Insert boot disk and press any key" In the video u tell to wait, ive waitin for 20min, is it normal?
I did not understand why you used the USB or did you not use it at all by choosing DVD
2010 Mac mini running High Sierra.NOPE!!!!
i try everthing it just crash
I have a iMac 2011 and I worked to this method installing Windows 10 Home, and it worked with no issues. I’m now able to use this as a wireless screen extension from my work and personal Windows OS laptops.
Would this work with windows 11?
Hi, really well presented tutorial. I know you say delete other partitions so that there are only two partitions: Macintosh HD and Bootcamp, however, I really need my other partitions. Will it create lots of issues if there are more than the two?
Can you use an USB 3 flash drive
easy???
How do you install the drivers manually if they don’t auto load?
Since I couldn't fit a current version of Windows 10 on a DVD, I successfully used a bootable USB flash drive to install it, following these steps: ua-cam.com/video/4-HjtRrzk64/v-deo.html
WHERES THE ANY KEY!!!!
What i did was this: 1. Upgraded my macbook late 2011 to mojave using dosdude1 2. Ran bootcamp 3. Made the pesky USB with drivers via bootcamp installer 4. Using a DVD burnt with the Win 10 instal - installed windows 5. installed the pesky drivers from the usb 6. Everything worked! 7. Wey hey!
I have a black screen when gpu drivers install. Mid 2010.
Ive installed w10 on a mid2010 imac and after booting into windows for the first time without any driver it works fine, as soon as i try to install the graphic driver the bootcamp assistant downloaded the screen becomes black, i tried to force shutdown after a minute and then booting up again, but after the windows logo displays (and i assume this is the point where windows loads the video driver) it becomes black again, the only way to go back to windows is to reinstall it from 0. And after doing that 3 times (cause windows update installs a similar driver to the one apple gives) i am giving up… If someone could help me i would be glad
We're same problem brohow now?
@@lplays3277honestly after several tries i gave up…the alternative is to build yourself a driver 😂
I could use some help. Mac mid 2010 I got all the way to the window setup partition screen and it won’t go any further.
Hi, i've followed every step but when I restart my mac just appears the "macintosh hd" and the "recovery option", no sign of the CD, anyone help me?
The NVRAM holds a list of Macs that came with a superdrive. There is where the problem with not all Macs capable of booting from USB. You need to edit the NVRAM in order to delete the model number of your Mac and than you can boot from USB as well, not only from the superdrive.
Does this include the option for Legacy USB booting? If so, I would like to know how this is done iMac late 2009 if that's important

Nice video an explanation, i've actually given up trying to install Win 7 and 10 on 2011 iMac, from Lion to El Capitan, info.plist edits to my own partitions, years ago i was successful from Win 7 DVD in drive but forget usb drive, black screen no boot, got Win 10 installed on partition but blue screen error when loading, did work once today but then when to blue screen error, appears it's something to do with graphics driver error but blue screen is stopping me from loading bootcamp drivers, so given up and reinstalling High Sierra.
Good day, I know this video is 3 years old, but I just had to say “you sir are a God”! I have for over a month, Googling and watching video after video trying to put windows on my Mac 2011. Rewriting software, changing this changing that, just to keep getting no no no. Then in 30 minutes all is functional. Thank you so so much.
What if the DVD iso was burned from a PC? It should theoretically still work right or no??
Can you just get windows 7 and upgrade to 10 with the media creation app?
