Very easy. 5% - basic understanding (present in the guide as well to my memory) about how wind, sails and keel(s) work together. 10% - when you get the cat, roll it upside down on a calm water and practice recovering from this state standing on a lower hull and pulling main sail rope over the upper one. Once you feel confident recovering from capsizing - remaining 85% are shown in this video.

No at all. With the theory in mind, the biggest advantage is that this kind of boat it is very responsive ! With light winds on the sea near the beach or on any lake in one week you become confident !

All models are good and well build. But below 320 models (guppy) you don t have front sail and you ll loose performance. All are easy assembling. Some 1.5 hours relax. From my point of view 420 it is the best. 2 bags appx. 80 kg total. You can take on top of the car and by plane for sure. It is a very fast boat trust me.

@@cr8cr864 yes indeed. Guppy is for only one person. It is good for a child to learn how to sail. From 420 model it is easy and comfortable for 2. I use to take my child 15 y old in order to learn him the basics and become independent.

Yes indeed. In short, in that lake, sailing close to the wind with violent currents and gusts is usual. My target is to keep as much tension as i can but keep the maximum speed at hy balance with small effort.

First you must know that minicat is a very good build small boat. Very fast and responsive. It doesn’t matter your level you’ll enjoy it ! If you practice windsurf already, you are not a beginner ! You already know how wind can be use. And not the last the advantage of easy assamble and transportation make it one of the best solution to own a sailing boat !

By principal it’s easy to build by yourself, use the original cleat of main sheet system connected to traveler, and buy 2 triple pulley, plus near 8-10 sheet wich must be a little bit smaller in diameter. And… that’s it !

Don’t misunderstand me. Capsizing is a problem of when not if, on this kind of vessel…. The ideea is that when minicat is overpowered (winds start from 8-10 knots from my experience) the default main sheet system is dificult to release or trim, the 6x1 pulley help you to make smooth adjustments. I realise that it is possible to keep it at limit very easy avoiding capsize at time.

Din doua motive. La acel moment nu aveam gopro-ul, si tineam telefonul intr o mana. Cand intru in marina focul ma ajuta mai mult cand trebuie sa ocolesc mooringurile de la intrare, spatiul este ingust si efectul focului este mai puternic decat al randei. Cand sunt deja pe locul de acostare eliberez si randa complet pt ca sigur la schimbarea directiei daca ma prinde o rafala sunt scos de pe pozitia aleasa.
