Honda CT110 High Country Adventure/Part 3
One year ago in September 2022, we took these postie bikes from the southern tip to the northern tip of mainland Australia and we raised over $20,000 for Bowel Cancer Australia. We decided to mark the anniversary of that ride, by joining together yet again for another postie ride.
Join us as we take our three Honda CT110 motorcycles on a 1200km camping trip through the Victorian High Country.
In part 3 we leave Myrtleford and take the backroads to Mansfield riding through some of the best scenery so far on this trip. From Mansfield we wind our way along the Goulburn River to the mining town of Woods Point where we set up camp before heading towards home.
as always, I hope you enjoy the video and please feel free to leave a comment:)

In this video we take a look at an electrical starting issue on this 2006 Yamaha Vino CX 125, testing all of the electric start system hoping to diagnose the fault. Everything in this video can be transferred to other motorcycles and scooters as they can all be very similar in the way they work. All tools used are basic hand tools that most people would have at home with the exception of maybe ...

9,000km on Honda CT110 Postie Bikes ONLY 39 EPISODE 01"Should have stayed in Cooma"
Great work guys. Love the videos. Having just got myself a postie I'm super impressed at the mission you undertook, and that it's in the name of a great cause. I've done many 1000s of KMs corrugation on 4 wheels, I can only imagine how your spines feel on two! Oh, and you should add the gofundme link to the descriptions of all your videos :)
4:28 it’s called a bridge!
may I ask the maximum speed that could be?
80km mate
Killer boots man!! 👍🏼
Couldn’t imagine my big 1250gsa on some of those sections
great diagnostics. For the solution explanation I am still not clear why the stand would have caused the issue. I mean, being bent just meant the kill switch there wouldn't work propely when on kick stand, not when it is not engaged, unless when you straightened it you actually restore the connectivity through it when not on kick stand. I hope I explained it correctly.
The switch works in reverse, when the stand is down it opens the circuit to the solenoid not allowing the bike to start. Once I aligned the stand to the switch and the stand was able do make contact with the switch it closed the circuit allowing it to start. The switch is a standalone safety feature that prevents the operator from riding with the stand down, and is separate from the kill switch. I hope that makes sense. Kind regards and thanks for watching.
Hey mate, how much have you pushed these things with going off road ? have you ever put noblys on ? also how many kms do you get out of your long range tanks ? youve sold me on having a play with one of these things
the trip to cape York is the most we have taken them off road mate. I have never run knobby tyres but the all terrains are pretty good. I got about 320km out of my bike with the Harley tank and Venchie can get 500km+ out of the XR tank. Thanks for watching.
@@nortz17 That's brilliant, any particular year you recommend keeping a eye out for ? also how do they fair with crossing water? have you had to reroute any intakes or anything ?
@@benjarvie1072 have you watched our cape York trip? We did river crossings and my bike had a few issues, worth checking out if you haven’t seen it.

A bit of hard core shit boys good work
You did really well keeping filming throught that.... I could feel the frustration creeping in but credit to you guys. Excellent video. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a tough but rewarding day.
This is a really good series. I found it the other night and am really enjoying it. What an interesting ride..... I've never been to Oz and its been really good to see the different countryside and small towns along the way. Great riding country with great mates; what could be better? Love your choice of music too.
Welcome aboard! Hope you enjoy the rest of the series and thanks for the kind words mate😀
Just watched the three parts again; good peaceful adventure - hardly any hooning! The bottom gear on a CT110 is impressive! I suggest gear oil for those chains. Thanks again!
Glad you enjoyed it, I’ll give the gear oil a go. Cheers
Worst sound track ever 😅
Congratulations, great serious, enjoyed it a lot 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Looks like fun
hey boys, couldn’t find if you mentioned it or not but just seeing which tyres you were all running! appreciate it! loved the adventure
thanks for watching, the tyres are all vee rubber 3”
Speedo indicates between 60 n 70 kph . That's a comfortable speed the windage factor at higher speeds is to much to sustain for long periods and fuel economy goes down too .
spot on mate, that was the comfortable cruising speed without giving them a hard time.
Well done in the dark would do me done all the big names could not do it by un supported
cheers mate, thanks for watching
What was the hurry for maybe carby vent hose needs to be up higher
Spark plug cap
ignition lead was the problem
Real man real adventure better than the girls I ride with
just check the choke is operating correctly, and might need to adjust your mixture screw an carburettor. Hope that helps
알려 주신 대로 오토바이 센터에 찾아가서 조정후 정상화 되었습니다 대단히 감사합니다.
You solved my problem! I didn't know that it had a switch on kick stand. Owe you one!!!!😮
no worries mate, thanks for watching
Still good info! Hello from Florida 🤓
Hey, thanks!
Enjoyed the series from start to finish. A great tribute to your late brother. Looking forward to any future adventure you have up your sleeve in the future. Cheers and all the best to the three of you:-)
Much appreciated!
Allso have you fixed the broken wire if so how did you go about that and thank you
the wire wasn’t broken just the switch was bent.
@@nortz17 update after like 1 year of messing with this same schooter mine fired finally running good a rat chewed the kick stand cable i fixed it today and now it runs
@@nortz17 also mine was doing what you'res was doing like no sight of life untill i fixed that wire
@@whattheshoot1837 awesome work mate, glad you got it sorted.
I have the same issue ran the wire witch let it make the starter Button start working my kick stands fine i have spark and compression and gas and it still will not try to fire
you need to have the break leaver depressed while you start it, but if you have spark it should start mate
IF i was in .au AND had a trail 125 ?!? id be lookin' fer gold !!! thanks for the video mate

How was the Vic Postie Muster? Hopefully you took some footage of the shenanigans & will be releasing a video soon!
yeah it was good, we didn’t do a video mate just enjoyed the day off.
@@nortz17 yeah, totally understand that
Any reason why only ct110 no nbc110?
no reason mate just ended up on the ct110 by default
Great video....I'm from South Gippy also....did you keep the bikes for another adventure or sell them off?..I'm inspired to get a numb arse again!
We still have them ,we did a high country ride that is on my channel and we are off to the postie muster this weekend. Maybe we will see you there🛵🛵🛵
so what mark did you set the timing chain to
Didn't see the reply this was really useful because no one mentions this at all.
see my reply to the comment above mate👍
Hey guys thanks for the vids mate, what year model are the bikes and is there a better year than others, I'd rather stick to a 12v carby bike when I get one. Thanks for all the tips , Seeya Rob
our bikes are all 2006 but all of the 12v models are exactly the same so year doesn’t matter and the parts are cheap.
I think I saw that guy in the terrible pants yesterday in Tathra at the Wild Orchid cafe, am I right?
wasn’t him we live in Victoria 😂
I just got the SAME color, year scooter yesterday end of January 2024 and he said the starter doesn't work. It kicks fine, but I'm guessing it's only a dead battery since he said he hardly rode it and knows nothing about maintenance. I'll have a better idea after I watch your video. Thanks ! - Mike
Awesome mate, hope you have a lot of fun on it. Thanks for watching 🛵🛵🛵
Loved the vid. I'm getting me some of those pants!
You should! thanks for watching
What a great adventure, low tech, inexpensive, reliable.. like the tv detective used to say.. just the facts ma'am! Ct110.. yup, just the facts.
Thanks for watching!
Hi guys I have just finished your amazing trip your brother Mat would be so proud of all of you he really would what you have all accomplished is really amazing and I feel very blessed that you let us share it with you. I lost my sister to a brain tumour on the 16th of January 2016 and the pain never leaves you. You just learn to try and live with it to be able to make people aware of bowel cancer is a great thing so many people get sent the government testing kits and ignore them until it’s too late. I’m not saying that’s what your brother Mat did but so many people do especially blokes. You all take care and thanks again it’s one of the best things I’ve seen in years. Rod Stowe
Sorry to hear about your sister, until Matt was diagnosed with bowl cancer I was shocked on how young and how easily treated it is. Matt would still be here today if he identified it earlier but without symptoms bow kits play an important roll. thanks for your support and hope you enjoy future videos to come🛵🛵🛵
Just found your incredible journey and are so enjoying your travels. What a amazing thing to do they are not the fastest of bikes and you are certainly going through your fair share of mishaps along the way. You all should be so proud of yourselves to do what you did was a beautiful caring wonderful thing to do. Cancer is a truly horrible thing and you would certainly make a difference there should be more like you the world would be a far better place, good on you all. Rod Stowe
