The thing I like about the Celsius is that it is light compact and when I bought it far more affordable. What will you be using it for? I have also had great luck with the ht quick strike. It is the most affordable option, and I have upgraded mine so you don’t need an anchor.

It is a 2 inch Lyman plug, and dives about five feet without weight. Lyman’s are my favorite trolling lure/plug for trout!!

I fish the 2 inchers 1.2-2.5 mph. 3 inchers 2.5-3.5 and 4 inchers 1.2-3.5. Tight lines.

I also modified mine. I changed the location they enter the hull. Now it is a straight shot back to the rudder, and they are cut perfectly to length. It has no resistance in the steering, and has not malfunctioned since. Tight lines!

This trip the crooked arm didn’t even give us a bite.

We hit our favorite spots in the crooked arm and the deschutes arm, with only the one hookup. I’m glad the Kokanee bite was hot!

Also wouldn’t the cone be better as it scans like a cone where as the boat transducer sends out the signal maybe strait down and then also what would be behind your boat as if it was mounted?

Ya this works well for ice and on my kayak. Not as good as an ice transducer, but it gets it done.

One thing to know is that the ice transducer and the standard have the same cone sizes 15 degrees with the 200 kHz and 45 with the 77kHz. the disadvantage of the boat/Kayak transducer is that it may be harder to keep it positioned correctly (this is key for keeping the cone straight below you). to maximize my view and help compensate for slight misalignments I always run my striker in dual beam mode or switch the primary mode to 77kHz, the 45 degree cone is much more effective and forgiving. Tight Lines!!

Are you mentally challenged? He is literally showing you that it can also be used for ice fishing as well. You see that white stuff he’s on? That is ice. Ice forms when water freezes. He drilled a whole in the ice and put his transducer into the hole which is hooked up to the fish finder. If you need me to explain anything else to you because you are incompetent then just let me know what you aren’t understanding

I use these same dodgers for open water Kokanee fishing. I haven’t fished for Kokanee through the ice recently.

It varies a lot. Average around 2mph. With that said I have caught them anywhere from 1.5-3.5.

What kind of malfunctions?

@Fishnmoreoutdoors I posted a full-length video of me using my quick strike. I did email HT for a follow-up on my spare piece to be mailed out.

They are adjustable, so about any length ice fishing rod will work. A medium action works great. Tight lines!

I don’t. The only lake around me that I can ice fish for lakers, is a 20 mile snowmobile ride, I currently don’t have a snow mobile. I may purchase one in the future, to open up my ice fishing options.
