Building blocks with The Craft Corner: Episode 1 - The fold and cut
I call this method the fold and cut and I teach it again and AGAIN to all my art students.
Time and again I see students come at those carboard projects with ten tons of tape. Today I am going to show you how to ELEVATE your cardboard construction game.
With two simple folds and one cut you can create strong sturdy 3D shapes like boxes and houses.
This is why this series will be called building blocks. In it I will teach you my favourite tips and tricks to upping and improving your 3D art project game.
So let's gather our materials and get started
For this project you will need:
Cardboard - make sure its not too thick so its easy to cut. Ideally in a square or rectangular shape
Ruler
Pencil
Scissors
To assemble:
Tape
Glue
Paper to decorate
Those are the essentials and all you need to get started

Is this method of coil wrapping the same as if one wants to make a rug? I need a rug for my very small kitchen but don't want to pay the outrageous prices if I can just take some of my scraps and make one for pennies! And can this be adjusted to great a rectangle rug instead of a circle? I suppose it would be a great deal of trial and error if one has never tried to make a rug or basket using the coil wrap method, yes?

    • @TheCraftCornerie
      @TheCraftCornerie 6 місяців тому

Hi I havent used it to make a rug before but it would be the same basic principal. You just wouldn't turn it to start creating the sides. So basically keep going in the flat. I think it would be easiest as a circle, the corners would definitely make it harder. But you could certainly experiment! Do let me know how you get on! Vanessa

Certainly works as an oval shape. Just start with a longer strip in middle and work around it.

@@TheCraftCornerie yes, I enjoyed it. I did my first St Brigid cross yesterday and I wondered what I could use, since here in Scandinavia it is snowing (and is still very cold) and the nature has not yet started showing new green straw/wheat plants. So I used what I found in a shop for children: pipe cleaner, white and red. Next year I will use paper. 🍀

Hi, dear, I was watching videos on UA-cam when I saw your channel. I really like your video content. But as a UA-cam expert, I noticed one thing: your video views are getting fewer and fewer. Later I researched your channel and I saw your video SEO score is (0% Out of 100). Your video found that SEO optimization is not done in your videos due to which your videos are not going to your targeted people, your videos are getting fewer views and channel subscribers are getting fewer. I can say as a UA-cam expert if you can do channel and video SEO-friendly things like tag, hashtag, description, and keyword research then your UA-cam channel and video will grow fast. And If you want, I can do it I Can Guarantee to improve Subscriber and video views on any UA-cam channel with my experience I am waiting for your response I think your UA-cam channel will make your dream come true. Thank you"
