      May not be the preferred option but maybe rearrange your setup. You definitely want to put some distance between the power source and your headset or monitors. I even discovered that sometimes even when my external hard drives kick on they can cause interference.

      Thats a possibility. Check your microphone level and make sure the signal isn’t too hot. I wouldn’t encourage spending more money as sometimes that doesn’t solve the problem. Plug things in one at a time, check levels and proper microphone placement first.

    If all things are set equal, pan law, bit rate, sample rate etc, then with the same musical material will sound the same on diff DAWS and this has been proven/shown on YT many times, however, a DAW is kind of an instrument in its own right and will sound different “in different peoples hands” like an instrument. This is good for everyone and means that even thought the science points to one thing…there is a lot of merit in this discussion.

    • @Qomplex

    In your audio samples near the end, I closed my eyes, and all sounded the same to my ears, even when the music itself became lower and felt more expanded. A better test would be to use a track that itself doesn't vary so much in its perceived panning. Thank you for presenting this anyway. I wasn't aware of the different pan settings in Reaper. I'll just leave it at default, but nice to know it's there. Subscribed.

    If stuff is at different sample or bitrate they will sound different. I switched from ProTools to Reaper some years ago but I never noticed any difference. I have to say that I hardly use any vst instruments. There is however a small difference between 24/48 and 24/44.1 Also take notion that most plugins seem to work a bit better with 96kHz so in order not to compare oranges with lemons everything must be the same bit,- and sample rate in order to make sense. Anyway choose which daw you prefer and then work with that, I doubt that these tiny differences would hold you back from getting great results.

      @Chaos-Dynamics 13 днів тому

      @ 24/48 doesn’t take up too much resources and in dense sessions you won’t notice any difference. Maybe for acoustic delicate things 96 can benefit but for the usual mixes 24/48 is a good standard imo. Try rendering to 24/44.1 and see if you can spot the difference between a 24/48 render, listen which one you prefer 😉

    I have never fallen for the "all DAWs sound equally equal" thing. I don't argue with the Nul test on a passed-thru Wav thing but as soon as the real work starts, instruments, effects etc, things do change. It should not be a debate as of course different DAWs will do things differently inside. Reason doesn't look the same on the outside, so why would it sound like Raper on the inside??

    Helpful video! Really like the way you outline the track with regions. Do you know of a way to have reaper play samples and import samples automatically at your project tempo? I've messed with splice bridge which works well but if I want to use my own I need to timestretch usually.

      Thank you!!! I kept the prompt turned on within Reaper. So anytime I import a sample Reaper asks me if I want to keep the samples tempo or adjust to the project tempo.

      While the 58x is good I must say the 490 is better in both comfort and sound quality.

    I love my Beherdynamic 770 and 770 ProX.. only thing I DO NOT like is that the older versions do not have exchangeable cords.. if you step on one, and the plug breaks, you have to trash the headphones.. they cannot be fixed easily.. I took that old one and drilled out a hole and inserted a mini-XLR, now I can change out the cords, straight or curled. The new one 770Pro X has this set up.. My Shure headphones have exchangeable cords.. I cannot fathom why ALL headphone manufacturers do not do this. Perhaps, they know if you wreck the cord, you just have to buy another headphone.. I have a drawer of unfixable headphones for the same reason.. torn cords, and the wires within are hair-thin, impossible to work with to fix.

      I agree 100%. A replaceable mini-XLR cable should be standard for studio headphones at this price point.

    Thank you so much it really helped me a Lott I knew it was becoz of the microphone being near pc after fixing that it was all going good but again all of a sudden it started to make that buzzing noise and when you said to see the connections once I immediately checked the connections and now it’s normal once again

      Random microphone buzz is so annoying. Glad you were able to fix it!!!!
