UERGO SCAM
UERGO recently advertised on media an electric screwdriver kit, the screwdriver was made by XCOOL and featured a £15 multitool case. The electric screwdriver looked good. During the video, they substituted this XCOOL rechargeable screwdriver for a cheap 20 something manual toolset available on Aliexpress for less than £4.00. When you placed the order it still showed the XCOOL case, when the order actually arrived, you received the cheap set instead. They rarely reply to any emails. BEWARE!!!

Cheap Chinese inverter rated at 2000 watts cannot supply 1000 watts and struggles at 650 watts

Basically this video is for eBay and is about a cheap Chinese inverter that cannot supply anywhere near the 1000 watt continuous rating as advertised. 650 watts is the maximum it can handle and trips out at 700 watts load.
Quantum HDD Fix

Roller Coaster Nixie Clock
Переглядів 1072 роки тому
I set out to make a Nixie clock with a difference, something that was unusual to look at, and something that was entertaining. I came up with the idea of using a science toy called Space Rails and set about a visual Helter Skelter using ball bearings, a see saw and Archimedes screw lift. I used a 10 RPM motor to which I attached a 100mm disc and fitted 6 magnets which gave me the 1 second pulse...
GY6 Quick Test After a Rebuild and 170cc Upgrade

After doing a lot of work on my Hammerhead GTS150 which included a 170cc big bore kit and performance clutch, i wanted to do a very quick and rough test to see if the basics were ok before i moved onto the next stage. I had already tested a new fuel injection system intended for this engine on another spare engine i had but i needed confirmation that everything was fine. Next step will be conne...
GY6 Fuel Injection by MotoEFI

This is the very first run of the fuel injection system i am fitting to my 170cc GY6 dune buggy engine. I rigged up a spare Peugeot Speedfight 125cc engine i had as a test bed to get the EFI closer to what i wanted before transferring the system across. The first EFI run was pretty much as it came out of the box, i hadn't altered any of the system parameters, in addition, the O2 sensor was conn...
Chinese Diesel Heater Hot Water

I stumbled across a video where a guy had made a heat exchanger to heat water from the wasted exhaust heat. After contacting the guy who is Paul Bruce, we compared notes and i set to making a heat exchanger. I used a smaller diameter pipe then Paul used, it's ordinary automotive copper brake pipe. The diameter of the pipe makes it perfect to sit exactly in the grooves of the stainless exhaust p...

Android 10.1" Head Unit fitted to my Range Rover P38 + twin reversing camera's and DVB-T television
Переглядів 3,7 тис.4 роки тому
I treated myself to a rather inexpensive but very nice 10.1" head unit that cost only £56. I spent quite a while modifying the original console until i was happy, in fact i went through 5 different versions and layouts. I've spent considerable time on the work because i added other features such as twin reversing camera's, one rearward looking and the other looking down onto the tow bar. I also...
Twin Reversing Camera's on my Range Rover P30
Переглядів 2804 роки тому
Like most people, i am crap at reversing. Last year i had the chance to drive a new 2019 RR and it had twin camera's, one for normal reversing, and the other looked at the tow ball to help lining up with a trailer. The mod was pretty simple and the small square camera fitted nicely into the upper tailgate recessed handle. I then had a simple change over switch on the dash to select either camera
Modified RR Tailgates, remote operated.
Переглядів 664 роки тому
This video isnt mine or my work, but something i'm planning on doing. The top tailgate appears to have larger gas struts to overcome the weight of the tailgate, the lower tailgate appears to have one of the original upper gas struts fitted to the RHS. Both tailgates are operated by a remote key fob connected to the original unlock button circuit.
Problems with an AC Inverter
Переглядів 264 роки тому
This inverter is advertised as 750 watts continuous and 1500 watts Peak, unfortunately under a resistive load of just under 400 watts (Travel kettle) It brings on the fault light and pulses. The kettle load is some 53.3% below the continuous rating and 26% of the peak rating.

    • @canidsong

      The diamond tile/ceramic blades will not cut skin readily. They could give a friction burn if you pushed against it too hard. They will go right through a finger nail down to the nail bed though.

    Unnecessary fitment! Unless one wished to provide D/C power with the second motor. - I don't post videos on UA-cam. - Mounting the 50 tooth gear on the clutch bell output is fine. - However a smaller twenty tooth spur gear on a shaft inline with the main gear would be better.. A small compression spring on it's shaft for disengaging it, until needed. - A 1/4 inch square hole on the spur gear face for inserting an extension bit of a cordless drill/driver -Rotating the drill and the smaller gear clockwise, will produce the correct counterclockwise rotation to start the engine. -When the driver is removed from the spur gear the spring on it's shaft will move it away from the driven gear.

      And may i suggest you go back to school and learn basic engineering Aye Bee. The system i used was cheap, relaible and actually worked out to give the correct gearing, and loading for the parts i used, do you have a better project, or are you one of these armchair engineers that knows a lot but knows fuck all. he engine was used in a far more complex drone that worked well. Do me a favour, save your cordless dril for drilling balsa wood or plastics and leave real engineering to those who know what they are doing..!

      Oh, John..............Run your starter/generator/gear drive with the engine actually running @7000rpm so we may observe static balance, and instability issues. My starter drive (above) will not suffer those ills, of your continuous engagement system- of flawed thought.

    • @ayebee1207
      @ayebee1207 7 років тому

      And your gearbox (Brushed) 24:1 reduction starter motor(Parasitic)...........drag? - Hello >>>EMF!!! Consumable carbon brushes to rapidly wear out on the Armature. Completely silly, and inefficient. - One should purchase a stater motor for a 5.5HP Briggs. It has a Bendix that will retract when D-energized after starting, and releasing the switch/key. Get the correct pitch gear; in brass for the back of the clutch, on the crankshaft end. Belt driven alternators for autos, cruise @about 1800 to 2150 engine RPM on the Highway. Max speed for an alternator is 3600rpm to generate full wave A/C. current. Add a Diode(Bridge)rectifier, and a capacitor/filter/noise for your servo's receiver to this brushless D/C motor to ensure square wave output. - - Yeah I learned this stuff reading books. Going to University(6)years. And getting grimy from foundries to machine shops. And fixing loads of Autos and Trucks that were badly conceived by low brow engineers - Yepp your a real nasty man for showing kiddos this video you love so. How many kiddos are going to have quirky control of their R/C UAV's, or Cars with all the stray EMF's of your charging system, Brit? - I think I will melt some coca-cola cans in my cheap forge now for my next project. - Watch King of Random, or Colin Furz.

    LOL, so much for that; ya couldn't even get the dang thing started! On your last line of the description you say "Throttle and choke are controlled by standard 9g servo's...." Um... the servo's... what? Which possession of the servo did you leave off right there?

    • @johnlannigan9831
      @johnlannigan9831 8 років тому

      +MaxxFordham As this was a dry test just to demonstrate the starter and other added things, it was quite obvious there wasnt a fuel feed to the engine..! As for your comments about the servo's, please clarify, it doesnt make sense. In use, the engine ran fine, the starter and alternator worked fine, and so did the throttle and choke..! Any other things you would like to pick on???

    • @HelloKittyFanMan.
      @HelloKittyFanMan. 8 років тому

      John Lannigan, with the way you had that smaller small engine positioned (I mean... since chainsaw engines are already smaller than most small engines on tools) -- or just with how small they are in general -- it actually *wasn't* that obvious that there wasn't a fuel tank hooked up. So... thanks for explaining that now. My asking you why you didn't start it right then isn't "picking on it." It is a simple question. Don't be oversensitive. Actually, what I said about your use of the word "servo's" there *does* make sense; you just didn't get it. It's actually _your use of the word "servo's" there_ that doesn't make sense until _you_ clarify. And you did it again. You said "servo's," which means you're either referring to a possession of the servo (something it either has or primarily uses), or you're trying to contract "servo is" or "servo has." But in your context one of the contractions would've made even less sense. So which belonging of the servo are you trying to refer to but which you left out?

    Hello John, I have found you because I googled this model of transceiver and came across your video and story.I have one of these transceivers, it was my late father's and would have been in perfect working order when he died as he was an electronics test engineer and a watchmaker (both highly precise trades), had a shack full of who knows what kit, and being the perfectionist he was everything he owned was immaculate and in perfect working order. I want to sell it as it obviously if sadly is of no use to me, and I wondered if you would be kind enough to advise what it would be worth and would ebay be the way to sell it?Many thanksAlison, Devon

      @faisgaffeimbecile1939 Рік тому

      Hi Alison. I'm the guy that bought your transceiver. About 2018 I think. £275 was the price plus her excellent packing skills since she drives a van for a major Supermarket. You'll remember if you read this, that I am a Stewart too. I have the photo of your Father I found online. I am looking after the radio, and am using it frequently since December 2022. A lot of people have talked to me on that very radio. A beauty! And I recognise the front room, in the video, the door actually. Unless I'm mistaken I bought something on eBay from the very happy guy who made the vid. Something electronics/radio related around 2020? The old refrain of "it's a small world" pops to mind. And well done with the repair. I've had just a little work to do on the 8M series txcr from your Father (who retired to Portugal) but it's still steaming along merrily. That's why I ran into this video. Looking for advice. And congrats to John Lannigan, and his refit.😀😍

    Actually it is quite well balanced for what its doing, but bear in mind it is a single cylinder engine and a lot of the weight is one sided as a result. In reality, even if it was unbalanced, the starting cycle is only used for 2 or 3 seconds anyway.
