DIY | I build an indoor putting green with ADJUSTABLE slopes!
I take you through the steps for building an Indoor putting green for the basement or garage. I incorporated adjustable slopes for different putting angles. Subscribe for more videos like this.

that slope system is genius!
How did you cut the turf
Just a sharp utility knife from the underside of the turf.
I would love to know the putting mat you bought….links to the piece parts in the video description would be great!
At the start i was like this is gonna be terrible, but it turned out amazing, if i had a garage id defo build this
SUPERB !!!
Great video! What type of fire pit is that!? Looks pretty efficient with the fan on top. You like it?
Where did you get that turf?
I found a local company that does backyard putting greens and turf lawns in saskatoon. I would imagine there would be a similar operation in most cities
What turf did he use?
had the thought you could add blocks under the frame, on the hole end to add an up hill slope to the holes! wonderful build mate
Great work. The only things I would do differently is I would have the board hinge on the other side as well for a different or a double break. Rather then cut the turf, make it bigger.
Bro just drops an all time DIY video for a dope ass custom putting green & then rides off into the sunset never posting another build. I like to imagine that you started practicing on this ingenious build with the slope adjuster and became so good that you eventually got discovered at your local puttputt golf course by an alcoholic washed up caddie. He sees your potential and eventually gets you a shot at an amateur competition where you are a runaway success. 2 years and 1 masters later (which you won btw on a banked in putt off the left slope) and you can’t be stopped, yet you decide to Retire to bring us another putting green build with a built-in rollback contraption (pleaseeee). Your caddie is back and being hounded by the pros to come back but he is 12 months sober and in a great spot in his life so he politely declines. Life’s changed bc you built the first one so you owe us a 2nd. What a legend
Crazy part is, that’s exactly what happened. I’ve been away too long, time to bring the people another build.
@@kevinhanchukTV ask and ye shall receive!!! I actually drew up my own drawings last night after watching this video. Going to incorporate the roll back but also the sloped green feature from your build. One addition I think would be cool if you intend to use it when you have friends over is a hinged side rail that unlocks and swings open onto the green as another obstacle. Please tag me when you drop it!
Quale modello di tappetino hai usato? Marca, altezza delle setole ?
If you want to save a little money you could just use pvc for the holes
Link to where you got the turf?
Great Job! Where did you get your surface from?
A place called turf Doctor in saskatoon
Any picture or video of the shims you use to create the slope? I get that you push in the dowel, but what is it hitting to push up the surface?
That came out GREAT! Well done!
That is freaking sweet
Thanks! It has served me well
You killed it on this build. Thanks for the inspo!
Thanks you! I use it often.
This is fantastic! I wonder what is the cost of the materials?
Probably cheaper now with materials going down
How did you get that curve cut on boarding pieces on side
Looks good
Nice work !!
Beauty! Gave me some good ideas for the putting green I plan on building
Fantastic work. The best thing is the sound it makes when you make a putt!
Always satisfying
That looks awesome, I hope you don’t mind I might hired a carpenter guy to make me one for my new home that is getting built…🤭
Haha awesome! Maybe add some additional cool features
I know this post is late but for anyone actually wanting to build this… Instead of buying 2x4’s, buy 2x8’s or 2x10’s. You will be able to cut a straighter line and make 2x4’s out of them in case instead of regular bought 2x4’s that will bow and warp on you. Cheers.
where did you source that high quality turf from?
Locally. Turf Doctor in Saskatoon
@@kevinhanchukTV Thanks! I am in Saskatoon as well! How has the turf held up? I am thinking about using it to put on top of a hitting platform.
It’s held up well but I’m pretty gentle with it. I think they had fairway turf as well that might be tougher
A year later , anything you’d do different?
Not overly. A two piece design for easier transport would be nice. It’s still holding up well.
@kevin hanchuk very nice build. i have a very nice 2 car garage (and an even nicer land lady). This garage floor is about to be converted to office/putting green/target things to practice my game during office hours. my question is where in the world do i get the fringe turf and the higher chipping turf from? I need something i can easily order as i am not able to go on road excursion anytime soon.
That sounds awesome Todd. In my city here I called a company that does turf for lawns and stuff and they cut me off a section from a massive roll. Depending where you are located you may have a similar company available.
@@kevinhanchukTV you the man buddy. My question is what do we do if we need multiple sections. For example. I estimate the garage to be about 25 by 25 or so. I wouldn't think they have a roll that wide. Length is obv not an issue... but will the creases mess up the put or any clever ways you can think of to eliminate the creases? Since I have micro noc (network operations center) I'm buil9ng in the garage along with the big driver target and a few other goodies. I'm considering just doing the whole floor in turf so it looks SICK! when you walk in. But again, maybe not because I think it would be good to at least have a reasonable area of exposed slab for the noc and target
Mate, mind making another of those up for me and ship it off to Australia? 😂 That is super cool!!
How did you do the slope angle wedge, could you please explain
So it’s a wedge of wood similar to a doorstop. So the farther you push in the handle piece the more it pushes the plywood and angle up
Where did you get the turf from and how much
Hey Wayne, is was a local turf supplier. I don’t know if they ship or not. And around $60 if I remember correctly
@@kevinhanchukTV you wouldn't happen to know the name of the turf????
You mentioned below you spent $300 CAD on this which is $235 american dollars. Wow, for the price… this is epic. Im sure you’ll be continuing to field 20 questions on this for awhile, thank you for answering those and thank you for filming this awesome build. #PuttForDough
Thank you! It sure is holding up nice

Got seasick watching the video, but good information.
Since it's been a year or so how is everything holding up now? Is the turf still in good shape or is it starting to buckle? Any suggestions on anything you would have done differently? Thanks
Everything is holding up quite well. Needs a vacuum once in a while but that’s about it. Would be nice to have sections that come apart to make it more portable.
@@kevinhanchukTV Thanks. I'm debating on whether to make one. I've looked at many & yours is definitely the best one I've seen and the most practical for me.
Great build - thanks for filming and sharing your work.
Came out nice. The glue you would want to use is either contact cement (apply on the wood and the bottom of the turf let it get tacky before putting them together. Or the adhesive they use for commercial carpet tiles applied with a glue trowel. I’m gonna build one super excited
Great job, very impressed
Great job!
My family would never see me again. Great job!
I did this but used camry golf carpet as the surface. I used two rolls of it to get the speed down to 10.5 speed. Came out as realistic and true. Was actually mind blown lol.
Nice! Glad to hear it worked out well
Genius 👏👏
Thanks Taylor!
This was awesome!
Thank you Tony, I use it often.
Perfect! Had the will to do something similar today but more stress on just something that returns balls. Your design made me want to strive for something nicer for my dad. Appreciate it
Glad to hear! Thank you
AWESOME GOOD IDEA. WHERE DID YOU ORDER THE TURF?
Where did you buy your turf? Please respond with company name and/or link. Thanks!
It was a local company called Turf Doctor in Saskatoon. Not sure where they get their supply from.
Brilliant mate! You could sell these!
What thickness artificial grass did you use for this? Looking to design my own soon! Love the concept and the idea to add the sides on a hinge !
Probably about a half an inch thick I would guess
