Let's drive to Historic Downtown Johnson City, TN in our 1935 Ford
Переглядів 7952 роки тому
Traveling back in time to see Historic Downtown Johnson City is our episode for this week. When I last drove through the old section of Johnson City it was a great deal closer to a ghost town than it was on this visit. It seemed like every block had major construction, but before in years past it resembled more of downtown of 100 years ago rather than what it looks like today. On this visit peo...

In today's video we visit the smallest state in the entire United States of America - Rhode Island! I've always wanted to visit this state, and getting to see a little slice of Providence was definitely cool. We get to see more city streets and urban views than usual on this channel, and I stop to show some picturesque and famous buildings in the state's capitol city. I hope you enjoy this video!

Fall River is a town in Massachusetts that has a very interesting history, and one particular person adds a dark side to this history. The Borden family had a long past with the town of Fall River, but the most infamous member of their family was Lizzie, who was accused for the deaths of her parents. She was ostracized from the community but continued to live in Fall River for many years, and w...

Early ford v-8 ( itis) ,caught it age 4. My uncle came out of the old farm house & sitting inder that old 300 year old oak tree was his '50 ford black cpe. Thase huge white wall tires fascinated me . He patted me on the head & got in . I watched him ,door still open turn on the key& push that chrome starter button. That sweet mellow sound of that v'8 6 volt starter & that flat head v-8 coming to life! Throbing thru those dual exahust ( SMITTYS) ! I STOOD THERE AS HE DROVE AWAY, THAT THROB! I HAVE NEVER BEEN THE SAME ! STILL BUILDING & DRIVEING THEM TODAY 69 YEARS LATER. STILL LIVING THE DREAM, KEN.

That Ford is an absolute dream. If it weren't for a few rattles, that are easily addressed by someone like you, one cannot imagine they're riding in a 90 year-old car. As with any car, cushion everything in the trunk too. Never knew the greatness of the V-8 Ford, until now. The front seat is certainly substantial and plush. The gentleman that owned it, could not have sold it to a more deserving family. Since I discovered James, several weeks ago, I wondered what his parents must be like. Now I see why he always has the million-dollar-smile. Any kid has to be happy and proud, around someone like you. I hope we can meet the Mrs.,in your video one day. What a legendary family. Huge Blessings go out to the Shawcross family.😇💛

I LIKE THE DRIVING, especially in that fantastic Ford, which I'm truly enjoying.. Personally, I love your camera positioning. I can drive on roads like that, endlessly. BTW, I ride a green 1954 Schwinn Phantom and drive a 56 Packard. Keep up the great work.

I love the realistic perspective, of actually looking through the windshield. This is the closest I've ever felt to actually touring in a Ford V-8. Just love it, more than anyone else's touring video.

What a car, what a great ride, what an awesome guy. I've been in the car hobby for decades, and never seen a video so nicely done. James (and his dad) are awesome. The car runs so beautiful. Has to be the finest original Ford V-8 still in existence. You guys are SO MUCH CLASS!!!

I'm 91, born in '33, this a '35 model...just ain't 97 years old. Kid needs to learn a lot more about this car but at least he tries, needs a guy like me that's been there done it to teach him. Fun to see a kid try at least, we need a lot more like him. I've owned a '34, a '35 and a '36. Now I'm back to the Model A.

Really nice video. My dad’s first car. He bought it new. A green 35 coupe. Thanks for letting me see what it would be like to have ridden in it. My dad did many trips to Florida from NJ in it in the 1930s. I am the original owner of a 2003 Grand Marquis that has the potential to be a super surviver like this one. So far, so good. Just need to check back in about 65 years to see if it made it.

At 8:52 that is not a grab handle. It is there to hang a blanket on. Passengers could retrieve the blanket to place on their laps if it got too cold. Cars of the 1920's and 30's mostly didn't have a heater.

My young dude we are not called the volunteer state because we have no draft. The state of Tennessee had become known as the Volunteer State when a large number of volunteers fought in the War of 1812. By the start of the Mexican-American War in 1846, 30,000 Tennessee volunteers responded to the secretary of war’s call for 2,800, clinching the state’s nickname.

I disagree with your comment about people moving in. While it's true that you can't stop people from coming, the natives do not want it. Outsiders tend to dilute the local flavor, even if they share the same politics. People from the South really don't want northerners to move in as they're not compatible with the local ways, customs and belief systems.

The one thing I noticed when you were showing the buildings, is that there is no graffiti on any of the buildings in Johnson City Tennessee. And the streets are clean there's no trash in the street. Which is amazing I think it's wonderful to be able to live in a city with no graffiti or trash.
