Somehow between INAV 5 and INAV 7 we made it fly better! Much better! I’m not entirely sure what changed, but now you can push filters and PIDs much higher than before. That’s why, you should not blindly copy a tune from old versions of INAV, but tune from scratch. The results can be quite amazing!

I have an old(ish) cinewhoop with a GOKU 722. It has an XM+ receiver, so I have no telemetry. Can I easily fit a Crossfire Nano?
It'll fly better with reverse rotation motors and props. This way when it yaws, it will also bank/roll in the same direction as the yaw instead of fighting it.
Inav 8 is out, but it doesn't work! Or did I misunderstand something? How to connect mavlink via elrs backpack?
Four things: To be clear, INAV 8.0 has not been released. There is a pre-release file available for testing things that may be in INAV 8.0. Good news - there is now an MWP build for Windows, so you can run a full INAV ground station without booting Linux or using a Pi or whatever. If you want an INAV ground station, you probably want to use MWP. The Windows build is brand new, so the installation process on Windows could be a little clunky - I don't know for sure. You said "it doesn't work". Do you have an LTM feed going into the port you selected in Configurator? If so, what exactly "doesn't work"? Telemetry in Configurator as shown in this video is something that Pawel had just started started working on when he made this video 7 months ago. It was an idea he started. As he mentioned in the video, one reason was because at the time MWP wasn't available on Windows, unless you messed with WSL etc. Things have changed. MWP now has a native Windows build. Pawel's priorities may have shifted. So what you will get if you feed LTM to Configurator is similar to what you see in the video - not a full ground station like MWP.
My multirotor is calibrated, the compass works correctly. It turns on and flies well in Acro mode. GPS shows satellites and the direction home. But if I switch to ANGLE mode, all sticks except gas are disabled and the drone just hangs in the air, drifting slightly. Who knows how to fix this, please help. INAV 7.1.

This sounds awfully familiar. The last wire on the O3 cable (SBUS) has to be removed otherwise you'll have this exact issue. After 6 years without FPV I finally got back into the hobby, ordered a lot of ELRS receivers and O3s. On my first O3 build I hit this exact same issue.... I've build a hell lot of electronics and did plenty of ESP32 programming and was pulling out my hair :-)

I found a forum topic with name "Betaflight Too Big?" and post writing this: F405 Region Size 922K Betaflight 4.3.0 with 43,6% usage. F722 (the bad versions with 512K not better versions with 1024K, STM32F722RGT6) Region size 480K Betaflight Betaflight 4.3.0 with 89,5% usage. So if you don't want to use a trimmed (cloud) new Betaflight OS, then FCs with 512K will probably no longer be sufficient very soon...
The RGT6 variant of the f722 doesn't exist, there is no mention of it anywhere aside from mislabeled listings. The F722 datasheet clearly says "up to 512Kbytes of flash". Only The F745/746/756 etc variants have 1Mb flash. And the F769 and F77* series which have 2Mb flash.
@@pvim Maybe you look at an old datasheet ? Github => Supported MCUs #197 => 4. F722. From what I could find, some FCs use the STM32F722RET6 (with 512 KiB of flash) while others use the STM32F722RGT6 (with 1024 KiB of flash)...

This is why closed source is actually good. It works, it’s optimised. This is why O3 is still the best system. ELRS is probably the best to come out of open source but it still does have its quirks.

Yeah. I got the same problem with ELRS. They can't reconnect in the air once they disconnect. Even if the drone is next to the transmitor. You have to reboot the airbone to establish the connection again.

2" - 3" is the best :) I am currently in the process of building my first 3" drone. And by the way, I would like to ask about the Pc (propeller coefficient) of 3" propellers. You presented Pc for 5", 6" and 7" but I am still wondering how to calculate it. I initially estimated, based on different drones from different companies, that Pc for 3" is about 16000. What do you think?
