Such beauty and majesty in those mountains!
I love how happy you are almost always and how much you enjoy what you see. It it a joy to experience the trail vicariously through your vlog.
How hard is it to go back to work when you're done with your hike? How many weeks off do you take before work?
Shooting Star
Indian Paintbrush
Really liking all the wild flowers. You’ve been so lucky to have experienced spring in so many different regions of the trail. That milky color in the glacial water runoff is caused by pulverized rock, it’s called Rock Flour.
Olallie is the Chinook word for berry
Yes, so many yummy berries along the trails in the PNW!
If I’m not mistaken, most of what we saw today has been closed since the devastating fires in 2021. We are so lucky to get a glimpse! I need to get back to Olallie. Great fishing and camping. I love it there. I’m so fortunate to live close to the beautiful country you are hiking through.
Hi Tach and Dan, thank you for all your extra effort and sharing your videos with us. What is the best cell service you experienced on the trait, Tmobile, AT&T or Verizon? Thank you and keep hiking!
1:00 Bleeding Hearts
The little reddish-pink flowers at the 3:44 mark are called Indian Paintbrush...my personal favorite.
I love seeing flowers from my garden growing wild, aquilegia or columbine and dicentra or bleeding heart and lots I don’t recognise of course 🌺🌸🌼 A great record of this section.❤
Brings back so many memories. Lol. That ridge you went over after Jefferson I got caught in rain, then sleet, then hail and finally snow up there. Ended up under a tree on the other side shivering with hypothermia. Made coffee, dried off to warm up. Then hiked like a crazy man to Olallie to get there before they closed! Their wood stove was much appreciated.
What a wonderful video! All different colorful flowers giving off scents and happiness! And you found raspberries and Huckleberries . Yummy!😅
aka 'Wildflowers From Mexico To Canada' .. 😎
The "new flowers" are shooting stars. They come in a lot of sizes - up in the tundra you can find them only 2 inches tall A favorite of mine.
What are y’all hiking with a bunch of chefs?! That food looks so good!
Glad to see you both made it through Three Sisters and into/out of Bend. I met you two as you came off the highest lava flow on North Sister. I have to say that meeting you both really lifted my spirits as I was huffing and puffing up that climb. Actually laughed out loud as I saw Dan's silhouette coming around a curve and knew it was him by his happy little dance down the trail. Great to meet you in person and looking forward to seeing you touch the border.
WOWWWWWW OREGON
Thanks for bringing us along! 🌲🌲🌲
Proud of you for prioritizing resting 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Is the smoke affecting your breathing? Hopefully no really high climbs! Its a sardine😊 Thats quite a bit of snow for this time of year! They chose their own adventures! 😂 With somany trees down and only half a trunk left it must be a really old burn area.. Amazing but erie glow at sunset due to fire.
Beautiful picture framing mt. Jefferson with the forest
Wow Oregon is GORG 😮
That new camera is incredible
I haven't been able to watch your videos for the last several days while on the road, but I'm glad to see that you made it to my once-sleepy little town of Bend 🥳 It looks like you had a great time...Safe hiking and Happy Trails as you head north to Cascade Locks!!
Awwwwww it’s me, you, and Caroline as volcanoes 🥹🧡
Thank you for this beautiful video. It does my heart so good to see miles and miles of healthy and beautiful trees/forests. God bless them forever! ❤ 🙏👍
I had hoped to catch a glimpse of Marion Lake! I do a lot of fishing and camping at Marion and Olallie Lakes. So cool to see my “local” area in your videos. What stunning views of Three Fingered Jack too! I’ve seen every episode and look forward to your daily videos. Thank you so much.
That downfall at 16:16 was caused by an avalanche. It’s always amazed me how powerful they are.
I saw sardine in the snow! I went through that are TH-Sa.
This is crazy to see. I can remember a gazillion blowdowns leading up to Rockpile Lake. The fire damage is crazy, it was green when I went through! Jefferson I think is the most beautiful of the Oregon peaks. Olallie Lake will be interesting to see. 😊
Thank you so much for featuring Oregon’s beauty!! Most thru hikers zip through Oregon and don’t stop to admire all the beauty we have here. 💚
What a gorgeous mountain! And all of the trees....
What a stunning day. The contrasting scenery is unbelievable. Do you know the names of any of the lakes you stopped at? Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️from me.
Lot of beautiful mountain scenery and lots of flowers. Lots plants cannot reproduce without fire 🔥 prepping the ground and heat gets the seeds to grow.
There is a type of pine that can grow only after a fire has opened up the pinecone.
When I’m watching you guys hike through those lava beds I can’t help but wonder what it was like for the people that were creating the trail. My friend helped build part of the trail near Belden in early 70's I believe. Was through manzanita and was difficult so I can imagine how much harder it was through lava. Take care of yourselves. I’m really enjoying following your adventures!
How many miles have you guys had to skip because of the fires?
2000 miles big congratulations!🎉! Youre almost done! What will we watch?? OMG Marg, you sre amazing, going back over the lava rock! So glad your feet are better! Wow all those dead, white trees are a bit eerie, great pics. OMG such talented cooks!!!
Nice thers a trail or rhe obsidian would tear up your shoes and your feet wouldbe aching so much more!! That spring is so cool! Amazing the change in flowers and trees and rocks in such a brief time!! Impresive volcano, looks prehistoric! Thar thick fog is a bit eerie.
Hope the fires won’t impede her trip!
2000+ miles👏👏👏👏
Dan, why weren’t you out there with Marg?
Way to go Marg!
All Right!!😂 2000miles😅!Totally awesome! Marg I'm glad you're feet are getting better! Wow that was painful! I'm happy they figured out a solution !
Way to go Marg, love your spirit...many hikers would have skipped it and say they completed the hike.
= 2,000 ! = .. only 150 miles to the Columbia River. 😎
I can always tell when Marg is holding the camera as something is always creaking, I hope it isn’t her knees! I’m glad her feet are better. Watching you two is real tonic, I look forward to your post every day😊
Congrats on 2000!
Epic mileage today. Congratulations 🥾🥾🥾🥾🏔
All of your videos are so beautifully done. Nature is a wonderful thing!
