Good video I give you mad respect for all that work
I don't know if I can keep up now.
Looks great! Time to go wheeling
badass!
Thank you for the informative video. My 1997 Vortec 350 K-2500 Suburban overheated and began steaming out the exhaust this week. I'm considering an LS 6.0 swap using my low-mileage, factory-remanufactured 4L80E. I already have the GT5 4.10 gears and the G80 14 bolt. A 6.0 has plenty of torque and power for my needs and parts are plentiful. I don't want to lift my Suburban as it is easy to drive for me. I would like to retain the factory AC and relocate the alternator and battery.
good job
That’s a great looking ride. I’m planning on tearing into my 06 aero this winter.
Are you in Boise? I just got a k2500 ‘98 work truck/service bed I want to solid axle swap… going to binge all your vids now thanks for sharing
Beautiful bike transformation! Thumbs up for that! The only thing I would change on your bike to make it look prettier would be to get Vance & Hines short exhaust pipes in black and get rid of those wrapped ones you have. Let me share a short video of my Shadow with you. Mine isn't a bobber...😁👍🏾 ua-cam.com/video/N-NOeKxp-LQ/v-deo.htmlsi=RmstkFNjeIHmkDXV Have a great rest of your night 🌙 Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 🌵🌵😊👍🏾👍🏾🇵🇷 Like#10
Off topic your 8.1 build What headers did you use?
Does the 201 idea as smoothly as a stock cam? Raylar says that is does.
question for you. how did you mount your turn signals in your billet grill. also if you wanna turn on comments on your videos. You can edit the video and click Not For Kids and the comment will open up. I noticed some videos had for kids on it.
I just bought a BP 201 for my work truck it's a GMC c5500 when I was wondering what are the cam specs on it I have not seen it yet I just ordered it today
Incredible beautiful machine you have there. Love the new color.
I love it!
Those generation GMC & Chev fullsize pickups, SUVs, & medium duty models were built from 1973 through 1991 except the half ton & three quarter ton plain cab pickups were finished in 1987, & the one ton plain cab pickups were finished in 1989. In 1987, the C/K series were dropped & renamed R/V series & the reason for the name change was to make a distinction between the models & the upcoming next generation C/K series pickups for the 1988 model year because both of those body designs were going to be in production at the same time which lasted up through 1991.
Love your truck. Thanks for the video. It gives me hope 😂. I’m doing an 88 r30. Did you have to modify your frame for the ac compressor?
Hey steve great vid. did you have to modify the square body frame for the 8.1?
subscribed. Nick, Prescott, AZ w/ 1987 K15 w/ 4" lift on 33s
Any chance you might be able to link the part numbers or where you may have got the fuel system parts from? Thanks in advance
Thats awesome! Especially in the crew cab!
Are you still running this EFI setup? How do you like it?
Yes, still running it, and still going good. For this application, it’s been great and simple
Definitely at some point doing this in my 88 c1500
Im about to do same in 88 chevy c1500, I pick everything up Saturday its 88 chevy shortbed single cab and im install 2002 8.1 with 4l85e.. only has 90,000 miles on 8.1 was t boned and they made me a deal on motor and transmission. did you ever do urs if so do you have pic
Damn that thing is lookin' tough!!! Congrats on one heck of a build 👍
Sorry about this , but can't ask questions in the 8.1l carb conversion videos. Would you have the part number for the Powerbond balancer you used ? Am in Australia and just scored one of these motors and information is scarce to non existant , especially from people who have actually done it personally.
I tell people when they ask about " How much lift is it " I say " It's not lifted, it's a Solid Axle Swap " And then they look like a dog turning it's head trying to understand what I'm talking about? 😂
How it should have came from the factory! #FKIFS I left my IFS in a dumpster in NJ! Where it belongs!
Freaking love this thing, with everyone all Jeeped out, I love seeing something a little different, love it!!
Love it! Great work brother! Sick build, and I'm glad to see Leaf Springs, I run 4 leafs on my First Gen Tacoma S.A.Swap, and plan on a similar EXO Cage, but beautiful rig! And great videos, TY brother
Can’t hide money
Every one of my projects have way more time than money invested. Most all the major parts on each one are junkyard parts
This is basically my dream suburban! Beautiful job
Did you use aftermarket motor mounts to swap a bbc in that c10 or will factory work.. that's a mean set up.. i wanna swap mines bbc
Got a question for, what motor mounts you use, to convert a bbc to the c10... i have a 86 c15 i wanna convert to 402 bbc.. will the oem mounts work.. i seen you said chevelle headers will work.
Great video I’m thinking of building a hunting, camping and wheeling rig out of one of these to bomb around with the family. I did a 93 gmt400 years ago with the 36” pad width rode great. right now I’m on the fence between running the radius arm style super duty or leafs I have access to both axles. Just not sure if the extra money going to coils is worth it my old truck had ez ride super Lift springs with bilstein shocks it rode very nice. Also thanks for sharing so much info I’ll probably be watching again to figure things out
I have a 99 K2500 454 4L80E that I am doing the SAS on it. I have the front high steer, dana 60 from an 89 High Pinion F350, and the same ORD kit as well. Really like what you did to this one! Nice Burban!
Love the walk around and info. Getting ready to do one myself in an '87 V20 Suburban. Can you show some more detail on the wiring side of things? O2 sensors etc...
Nice job! I have a 96 burb 2500 like you and I’m thinking of doing a SAS on it. I like what you did.
How's the mpg with the 8.1 compared to the tbi 454?
About the same. Both big blocks
Cool build man.
Hey you did what I was thinking of doing for a tie rod end! I have the same kingpin ford Dana60 and I’ve already bent one of those factory style tierods… how much clearance do you have between the diff cover and the straight tie rod at full lock? It would be cool to run an after market diff cover since I want to do hydro assist
Seems like I have about 1/2” clearance at lock. With a beef aftermarket cover it might be really close
why didnt you just call up howells and swap to an 0411 ecu . a vortec 454 with a 0411 computer would hands down be better than anything from the aftermarket
Because on this dedicated off-road rig, I was going for the simplest wiring setup I could get, and these aftermarket setups are so simple it’s not even funny. Plus it was pretty cheap to setup. Plus different from what everyone else does. I’ve been really happy with this setup, no complaints
@@stevekay8926 howells is pretty damn simple compared to the OE harness and you'll have custom tuning with an 0411 ecu and have access to off the shelf parts and obd2 port for diag . my comment stands even more that its an off road rig . need reliability more than easy mode
I’m more than familiar with their products and what it entails. I have a Howell harness computer on one of my 8.1 swaps. And this system has been very reliable for the last 3 years. What’s the point in just doing the same thing on every motor/build? I wanted to try something different and this was cheap. So far, don’t regret it one bit
Working ac??
Why not put in a 12 valve Cummins, that's what is going into my 93 K2500 suburban.
Diesel vs Gas debate will go on forever. Both have positives and negatives. Just pick which one works for you and go
8.1 sounds better 😂
@@Handlehandlebars if you like to get 9 MPG
For my tow rig i don't care
With the wider spring perch spacing, do you think youd rub the springs with the tires if you had 37s?
Great job,nice!
what gear ratio are your diffs? and what kind of fuel mileage do you get on the highway with this combo?
Went with the 201 over the 202. Hoping I made the right choice...
no videos of it wheeling?
Didn't know you had a channel! Subbed!
Very nice GMT400 project- thanks for the update! What wheel spacers did you use in your rear 14 bolt? I have the exact same problem with my Dana60/14 bolt with different stud threads. My project is a 1994 GMC Yukon 2 door with ORD SAS. Thanks
Don’t remember, it was a while ago. I think I got them off eBay
