Just started fishing with lures and funnily enough that's the first plastic I ever bought. Caught more fish off it then anything else aswel
Can’t beat it mate :) it’s such an easy but super effective lure
Sorry im late sir traffic was heavy
Don’t lie to me like that :) you were watching your favourites first then came to mine
@ReelFishing765 i had to brew my coffee first before i sit and watch the best fishing channel
@@tiller_gorilla7220 thanks mate
Nice vid mate, what rod ya using here ? thx for sharing cheers !!!!
Daiwa Revros 702LFS
I have to say most of my reels are Daiwa these days they have improved all of their products so much over the last ten years which is great for us.
They are so good hey!
@@ReelFishing765 And a lot cheaper than Shimano.
Depends what end of the market you go, there close it’s not like your saving $100’s but I use the crossfire’s and have zero issues hey
good report, thank you.
Thank you !
Was kayaking around the flats of penfold island on Wed morning and saw a large ripple on the surface coming towards me. It slowly changed course when it saw me but it was unmistakably a large 3m shark (3/4 of my kayak) in 1.2m of water. I knew they were in there but that's the first time I'd seen one in person at that size.
Wowza that would have sent a scare through ya. I’ve had one come right past the nose of my boat when I was lure fishing
hey just asking for some info been using live squid for sunrise near lili pilli just wondering kingfish always seem to be chasing eyes cant seem them to get them to eat anything but they are definetaly around
Yeah man it can be so tough when they are chasing eyes. My suggestion would be to match the hatch as best as you can. Daiwa flick 2.95 works well or even a fly rod is best but not everyone is good with them.
Just hope theres a little chop on the flats for surface lures
Always helps. I actually prefer glassy around the new moon because you can see the whiting going nuts for the jelly prawns
@ReelFishing765 true
You could throw anything at Salmon and they'll eat it.
Sometimes yes sometimes no especially when there chasing eyes
❤🔥🔥
Ayo Daiwa in the building!! Lets go!
What soft plastics for Aussie salmon and great work mate
Daiwa 2.95” flick or 3” inch wave minnow in baby bass colour
Great footage, love your work 👍
Many thanks!
Gd live bait size for big kings and beheamoth jew
You know me mate I love a soft plastic or a hard body haha hard for me to go livies
@ReelFishing765 i know, maybe one day.if you were to use a 1 ounce jig head and 5-7inch plastic and liked repeat drifts theres a gd spot for flatdogs poss kings too inside the hack but cant tell ya here where it is
@@tiller_gorilla7220 haha stop keeping secrets from me!!!! But I am actually planning on trying to catch them this summer on lures. Just waiting for the right weather conditions
@@ReelFishing765 see if i can describe it this way. It goes from a flat to a steep drop between channel markers and a jetty on a bend. It has a large boulder in the centre of the channel in line with the jetty just about, its a tackle killer boulder.theres a s style marker set leading up to and through to the channel and out the otherside.sometimes you may see paddle boarders riding waves as you drift by them.😂 Enjoy its only a narrow channel if you hook a king boats going by will throw you around a bit espec those big bougy picnic boats that dont care
@@tiller_gorilla7220 I know wher you are fish there a few times hard to hold bottom in strong current
Hi mate what soft plastic for the bay kingys in port hacking and where?
Smashed it this week in the late arvo sesh on Mon/Wed. Caught 20+ tailor, 4 salmon, 2 jews, a snapper a flounder and squid. Between south west arm and lilli pilli. Used to the sounder to find the bait schools and then fast jigged on them til I hooked up.
Must be listening to what I’ve been saying haha
@@ReelFishing765 I can see what you meant about lures. I used to only fish bait and now I can't go back, it's so boring!
@@silverclaw4 yeah man can't beat lures
Winds have just been abit to high lately or am i wrong
You’re not wrong! We’re in the changing of season period! Normally more adverse conditions with higher winds etc come December it will be more consistent

please dont mess with pure beauty of Botany bay created by Nature. They dumped Agent Orange in the 60s into Parra river now what. poison river. want to build an island ? please just build it in Parra River! thank you

do a video on sydney harbour
As in a video fishing the harbour or a fishing report of the harbour?
@@ReelFishing765 both but mostly weekly reports cheers love the vids
@@OscarPetrunoff can do thanks for the feedback
I was hoping there would be alot more information on the island 🏝 in botany bay . Appreciate your knowledge and information for fishing the weekend
I wish I had more to share. To be honest I think it's a pipe dream theres no way they do that but who knows
What would you use for kingfish in Burraneer bay And what would you use for salmon😊
So lure wise for kings - I’d go slippery dog 95f and baby bass 5inch jerk bait junkies. Salmon go with the 65f slippery dog or a double clutch Bait wise - kings - live squid or yakkas preferably squid. Salmon - anchor up and burley with pilchards. Salmon are harder to catch on bait than lures tbh
Much needed video. Glad to see there's someone who's looking out for the Aussie fishing community. Also what sort of boat would you recommend for someone who's looking at getting their first boat? Can I get something decent for around the 5k mark?
Thanks for the support mate :) in regards to the boat. Biggest thing is engine, the newer you can get the better. For under 5K if you can get a 4 stroke electric start engine great. If not a pull start 4 stroke will do. Also that will depend on what you want out of the boat. Under 5K you won’t be able to get a boat that can go offshore etc and have a 4 stroke on it. So for under 5K I would recommend like a 375-420 tinny with a good reliable engine on it for fishing all rivers and creeks etc. Hit me up on Instagram and we can discuss further :) send me what your looking at and I can help
That's very helpful. Will do, thanks mate !
Nice! This is a short from the vid posted last week?
Correct ✅
Great video Aaron ! Even if someone isn’t going to do their own service they should at least know what is involved in it and you have shown that here . Only thing I would add to this video is check the spark plug gap on the new plug .
Great suggestion! I do that each time but forget to film it
made it look nice and easy . everyone should watch this and learn something . sick of being ripped off and laughed at by mechanics
Just here to help :) hopefully people at least can understand and maybe diagnose what’s going on with their boat if it breaks down
Pound for pound, I caught a 65cm trev which went harder than a 65cm king for sure.
Yeah man pound for pound possibly the hardest fighting fish
@@ReelFishing765 at least they aren't as dirty a fighter as a kingfish.
Anyone know of any decent spots for kingfish on a kayak. Just abit new to it
Hacking - go burraneer bay. Botany go runways
@ReelFishing765 thanks for them.tips my friend
Nice session!
Thanks mate
@@ReelFishing765cracka hacking day.no tings on the flats?
@@tiller_gorilla7220 saw a few but I was there too late should of went there earlier
Too crook to get out you are just going to have to make me jealous 😅 go get those tings on the flats
Will do my man!!
Hey mate, love the videos. What are some good land based spots on the port hacking to catch Aussie salmon. Never caught one before, would love to give it a crack on the slippery dog. Cheers
Hey thanks for the support :) Few spots for you to try, gymea bay baths, sand flat along north west arm, Lilly pilly, and along gunnamatta bay :)
@ReelFishing765 where abouts are the sand flats at the north west arm? Haven't seen them before. Thanks
So the ones I’m talking about are on the way out of swallow rock into the main part of the hacking. I refer to it as north west arm but others say that’s not that.
Hey mate love the clip. They are awesome sized salmon mate. What do you look for when going out for the top water catches.
The main thing I look for is some kind of surface action. Now that’s different for each fish. For example whiting slurp the surface so I look and listen for the slurping sound when I’m chasing them. But for things like salmon and kings, looks for bust ups on the surface and if there isn’t any bust ups look for birds :)
Is that Perth? Swan River??
Us Sydney siders will take that as a compliment! Haha it’s the port hacking system just south of Sydney
Slippery dog catches fish for the dogs :) yessir. how strong is the slippery dog 65F's assist hooks? it is meant to be used for catching whitings, breams, small taylors isnt it ?... I reckon if they were 65 cm plus Kingies. the dog would have no chance yea ? even the 80F, it would fall apart.. what you reckon ? thanks always great session mate
Yeah the hooks on the 65F aren’t designed to do that but they can if your patient. Kings are a different story, I still chase them on that lure when there being finicky. I just change my trebles and stringers to in line singles :)
What size slippery dog
65F :)
👏🏽👏🏽
Hi Mell 😄
Thank you :)
If you want to avoid the rats use bigger salmon as live bait.
haha some of the 30 odd cm salmon probably would be great live bait! I'm more of a lure man tbh
@@ReelFishing765 In NZ I regularly catch big kings on 50cm plus Kahawai (Aus Salmon - same fish)
@@Fluid36 Yeah I've seen the videos!!! Thats just insane to me! Maybe one day ill head over and try it out
Nice video
Thanks mate
any good spots for kayak fishing ? only just bought one and have no good nice spots would be nice
Depends where you want to fish. I use to own a kayak, I would launch in gunnamatta bay in the hacking often. They have a kayak launch ramp there too now
Yeeeeeeew
🤟🏼
I have been catching nothing except 2 pikes over the last couple of days in the run up to this new moon fishing around kyeemagh mate. I went fishing in the morning run-in tide land-based using soft plastics before going to work from 6 am to around 8 am. usually I get bunch of trevs, flatheads, taylors etc but this month especially this week catching almost nothing so so so weird, strange. do you know what happened with this new moon mate ? on this week this new moon only ? the weather has been alright but... the fishing is so bad. it does not make sense in the new moon for botany bay
Sometimes it could be one small thing rather than a big thing. My advice would be to use a diary for each time you go fishing then you can see patterns. Could be as simple as wrong place right time. In other words you went at the right time for a fish to bite. But they were somewhere else so you might be closer than you think to success :) keep at it and it will come :) Good saying is: you can’t catch a fish if your line isn’t in the water
@@ReelFishing765 Awesome response mate I really appreciated it. fish on 🤙
Great info again... Thanks mate.
No problem 👍
Hey mate just got into fishing, do you run a swivel and a sinker when using a jig head? Cheers
Hey mate great to see your taking up fishing great stuff. So for jig heads you don’t need a sinker or swivel the lead of the jig head is all the weight you need to get the plastic to the bottom. Instead tie an FG knot to a fluorocarbon leader then connect your jig head to the flurocarbon leader using a loop knot. All those knots are on my channel for you to see too
@ReelFishing765 legend cheers mate 🤙
Hey mate I’ve been going Gymea bay a lot recently off the jetty and haven’t been able to catch anything. Looking to get my first kingfish. I’ve been using size 3:0 and size 1/0 suicide hooks with cut pilchards as bait on about a half a meter 15lb leader with a small weight. Looking to catch my first kingfish. Any tips?
Hey mate have you been burleying up using those pilchards?
@@ReelFishing765 I haven’t, however I’ve been feeling bites every now and then and haven’t gotten anything. How do I burley properly?
@@illwriteitdown995 I would start with pilchards, make the burley as fine as possible and spend about an hour doing that while floating either very lightly weighted whole pilchards or weightless pilchards
@@ReelFishing765what size hook and what do I use for burley?

Depends on the system, hacking - daiwa slippery dog anomite colour or wave minnow in baby bass
Thanks, really helpful. I wish you could do a video using google Maps showing the locations you are referring to. Regards
Great suggestion! I’ve been thinking about doing it, just got to find the time to add it into the edit being I film it Friday morning and goes live that afternoon but I will try 100% :)
