Yes daiwa are definitely a great choice and they are creating even more specific rods for specific purposes too which makes your fishing that much easier. Solunar Calendar does take a part in my thinking of what to fish for 100% but is it all of my thinking no. It also depends on the fish I’m targeting and affected they are by the moon. But also how the river will behave based upon the moon phase too

What’s the model of the rod? 4000 reel and 15lb braid is okay, 4000 reels you could go up to 30lb if you wanted. Depends on what you’re targeting?

@ReelFishing765 yeah it's a 5 to 10 kg, I should have done 20lb braid

@@radstar2185 Yeah I would suggest that but also at the same time I wouldn't do that till the braid is frayed and discoloured (which should be in a few months depending on use.

That’s a great catch mate, you can definitely pull in some big ones on a lighter rod.

Flathead - Fish the east side of gunnamatta along the sand banks where it drops off all the way up to the mouth of gunnamatta :) enjoy :)

Yeah man it can be so tough when they are chasing eyes. My suggestion would be to match the hatch as best as you can. Daiwa flick 2.95 works well or even a fly rod is best but not everyone is good with them.

Always helps. I actually prefer glassy around the new moon because you can see the whiting going nuts for the jelly prawns
