The Long Term Effects of Methylphenidate (Ritalin) Use
Thank you so much for this very clear and concise video. I have been taking Repatha for the last four years (after not being able to take regular statins due to muscle pain.) I have not been able to really work out for about a year because of hip pain, back pain, knee pain, muscle aches, and pain pains all in my lower body and then if I do any upper body work, my arms, wrists and hands hurt, spasms all over the place, etc. etc. I never put two and two together because I was convinced that Repatha did not cause the same problems as statins did. Well guess what they do and worse! Last week was my last injection since I can barely move this week and have to use a cane to move around the house. Now doing a deep dive and realizing it’s insulin resistance, causing heart and cancer issues. So I will be focusing on that going forward after I toss the rest of my Repatha in the garbage! Wish me luck!
Most excellent and explained so very well.
Meanwhile I take it and it helps me focus...
The negativity in these comments makes me sad. I work in academia (specifically in a field related to pharma), and I promise y’all this is exactly how it goes.
The only reason that Modafinil (Provigil) is not approved for ADHD is because the company that made Provigil (modafinil/armodafinil) wanted to maintain the patent longer, and if they narrowed the scope to narcolepsy/sleep disorders ONLY, they could drastically upcharge insurance companies for a lot longer before anyone was allowed to make a generic form. Then they changed one chemical in the original compound to make armodafinil and got to continue their monopoly, I mean patent, for another 7 years to make even more billions than they had with Provigil. THAT is why it is "not recommended" for ADHD. It has absolutely Jack Diddly to do with its effectiveness for ADHD. Doctors know and prescribe it off-label sometimes if AdderallVyvanse and Ritalin/Concerta don't last long enough, aren't effective enough, and/or the patient also suffers from narcolepsy or another sleep disorder as many ADHD patients do! My doc switched me from 40 mg of Adderall IR to 200mg (and later 400 mg) of modafinil. It has a much smoother on- and off-ramp than Adderall but is JUST as effective. I consider it slightly more effective because it lasts all day instead of 3 hours. Where did you get this information? I understand that this is old, but still... Maybe pin an updated comment here or something.
Nothing wrong with a placebo
Ok I like this….but how do I physically buy it? Order it online?
Thank you
Stay away from ambien.
what i was prescribed ritaln concerta at six and how am i affected
GOOD GOD
Mono colonial antibody? Mmmm….
I took this for a week. Started of on 40mg... it did NOT do wonders... if anything, I nearly beat someone.. I got hospitalized with insane jitters from feeling like I did ecstasy. I became explosive, with mood swings irrational anger and violence... after those insane feelings. I got mega depressed. And couldn't eat, due to the simple fact that I felt so depressed. I was hungry. But I ate nothing... I lowered the dose. But after 4 days more, it came right back to that problem... I stopped it now. But even after 2 weeks off. I feel my ADHD has been worsened with 200%.. And the psychiatrist don't wanna give me anything else. Other than a lower dose... Fucking ridiculous... I am NOT touching this sick medicine again. Never!! I just walked around exploding on everyone. Unacceptable to continue!!! My doctor is speechless that they won't help me with another type of medication. So now I have to wait months for another psychiatrist, while my side effects just keeps on coming, day after day. Along with 200% worse ADHD than before... a fucking joke...
Can you help me with something? When I was a child, they tried every ADHD medication on me. I didn’t really need them, none of them did any good & they caused quite a bit of harm. When I was taking it (I don’t remember which, I think more than 1 did this), it gave me d-th idealisation. It just occurred to me that this could explain (maybe just partially, idk) why this still happens (less). I don’t think they every fully went away. This was definitely not the only issue I had, taking them. I was just hoping this can help me progress with this a bit, having some more knowledge on a connection here (to help understand it better).
I remember that I took Strattera, Ritalin & Adderall. I quickly forgot the other names, I’m pretty sure there were more (there were literally no more to try, they even told me). This was early 2,000’s.
Getting stumulants for me is hard Atomotoxetine is the only option i have. Should i consider taking it lifelong.
So, for how long does this last after stopping? Does this drug make permanent [genetic] changes to the brain? Should people prescribed with this be concerned?
Take weekends off, or atleast 2 days a week, or else you lose the magic and it might just make you mad when you take it..
So don't trust the people, trust the study... Hmmm Sorry but this time I won't agree. My experience with modafinil and my friends experience with it is very different from what you say. It helps you increase focus and alertness with zero side effects. It really does thst very well. I am sure that I would drop out of the "study" if I was forced to tske 500mg instead of 50-100mg thst I am currently taking.
Nice disinformation video
if Repatha works so specifically on its target why is there a lengthy list of side effects?
bring back 2016 hair! XD

Pretty good stuff, I just realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's crazy! Although what he previously talked about was pretty decent, it was difficult to follow, I just go'ogled the latest in Mario's Thunderous Erections, it's so much simpler and potent now!
I'd have to question reference to a study by a pharmaceutical company who are themselves looking into 'novel' therapeutics for cognitive disorders - somewhat of a conflict of interest I feel. Whilst I don't believe Piracetam is the most effective of the Racetams, I do think it can be, and is, effective for some. Sadly there will never be enough unbiased, well conducted, full scale studies into existing nootropics as there is simply no money in it. Whilst there are many potential confounding factors with N=1's, when there are so many of them pointing in a certain direction it certainly should be enough to make one pause for thought. Case in point is the diabetic community and the control or even complete remission, in the face of reduced or ceased diabetic drugs, with a low carbohydrate diet at a time when it was widely believed in the medical community that diabetes was progressive disease with bad long-term outcomes - Again who is going to fund a study telling people to just change what they eat and not take drugs, there's no money at the end of that rainbow!
I was prescribed Ritalin 10mg twice a day three years ago as a treatment for my ADD. Initially, my life was very positively impacted by the treatment. For the first time, I felt like I could engage in personal projects and easily keep them running on a daily basis. It made me feel extremely powerful and capable, with very minor side effects such as tiredness, short-term loss of appetite, and slight fatigue at the end of the day. So, I thought it was the most amazing medication ever. However, after 2 years and 5 months of treatment, I started noticing some very different side effects. It began to induce a very strong euphoric state about 30 minutes after taking the pill. Then, about one or two hours later, that euphoria would transform into either rage, extreme physical/mental exhaustion, or depressive thoughts. Even though I could see there was something wrong with the medication, I continued taking it for an extra 5 months because I thought my overall energy, motivation, and productivity would drop dramatically if I ceased use. It was only 15 days ago, after being diagnosed with minor depression and anxiety and being prescribed bupropion, that I made the choice to quit Ritalin once and for all. I could no longer stand living with such extreme daily mood swings and withdrawal symptoms whenever I'd skip a dose. My emotions were all over the place, and my quality of life had significantly dropped compared to how it was in the first 2 and a half years on methylphenidate. The impression I get from all that is that it definitely has a long-term effect on our brains and bodies, and it may occasionally become noticeable enough not to be ignored. In my case, it took about 30 months to show its negative side. That may vary from person to person, but it might as well happen to anyone, especially those using higher doses or more daily pills. It's only a matter of time before it happens to you. Now that I'm not taking Ritalin anymore for a few days, I'm not getting those crazy mood swings during the week. It's been a lot more quiet! My ADD symptoms became more noticeable, for sure, but I would say they're still manageable with some extra efforts. In conclusion, I feel like I much rather be a bit less responsive and slower than living a crazy life every day. I'm also addressing my depression with bupropion, as mentioned previously, and I believe it might as well help me deal with ADD symptoms over time. If you're considering using Ritalin or other stimulants for ADD/ADHD, I would say try and use non-stimulant meds first so you don't have to deal with collateral damage after a few years. Every magic comes at a price, and not everyone is clear about that! Your emotional well-being matters! That being said, I would like to highlight that during my 3 years of Ritalin use, I never really felt the need to increase the dose. 10mg would always hit me strong, initially in a positive way and then not so much anymore.
Had this shit for months as a kid and the effects still happen to me to this day
Because it’s not for ADHD but for narcolepsy
Repatha plays with the genetic of the liver , you will become diabetic then may have a liver cancer . This pharma drugs is totaly B.S
Excellent description and explanations from a non-medical background perspective. I finally understand how and why Warfin works. I've been self-monitored on Warfarin for over 10 years, as I age I see more and more bruising on my forearms and hoping that a switch to Eliquist will alleviate these symptoms to some extent while still providing the anticoagulant effects to circumvent strokes.
Thank you I learned so much! This was excellent! I’m 43, LDL cholesterol is borderline high, ApoB borderline high risk at 96mg/dl. I want to be optimal - prevention minded. Started Pravastatin a month ago, no muscle pain but some brain fog. Thinking about asking about Repatha… may be better at lowering ApoB. I follow Peter Attia - and doing my own research. Thoughts on ApoB and the better of the two? statin (Pravastatin vs Repatha?) Also my kids must have changed my user name, don’t know how to change it from Golfball hunter. 🤦🏼♀️. That’s embarrassing lol
Has anyone have long term sexual side effects even after quitting Strattera?
And how can I fix this?
Xanax tramadol cause this? Been off it for a few days and feel pins and needles all over and been having gut problems.
This is an older video. Do you have an updated video for this?
Took it for 3 weeks. Made me feel terrible so I quit. This was when things got really bad. Dizziness, brain zaps, tons of other side effects. It’s been 20 years. I have not had one day free of these side effects. Avoid this horrid drug at all costs.
You're a dangerous charlatan, Piracetam can save lives
Are any of the other racetams good then for cognitive enhancement?
All "Racetams" are useless, might as well eat a chocolate bar and actually feel better. lol
How does atomoxetine compare to Methylphenidate or Lisdexamfetamine in terms of performance but Also effects on appetite and body weight?
Could yo make the same video, but talking about nicotine, i mean not ciggaretes or vaping, im refering to patches, gum or ingeneral isolated nicotine. Im geting treated my ADHD with ncotine patches and for the moment its the option that worked better for me (sorry because of my english)
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1754607/ 101 elderly motorists with reduced reaction capacity were examined under real traffic conditions with regard to their driving ability. They were given a daily dose of 4.8 g piracetam or placebo over a six-week period in a randomised double-blind study. The percentage of correctly solved sign-observance items, which reflects orientation and perception in real traffic conditions, increased in the placebo-treated test-group from 79.86% in the pretest to 80.07% in the retest, whereas the test subjects of the piracetam-treated group improved their performance from 77.08% to 84.16%. After being treated with piracetam for 6 weeks, the drivers showed a significantly better performance than the placebo-group. Of particular interest is the finding that the test-subjects who had scored less than 80% in the pretest improved without exception in the retest after treatment with piracetam. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3305591/ Previous research has suggested that dyslexics treated with piracetam have shown improvements in reading skills, verbal memory and verbal conceptualizing ability, feature analysis, and processing of letter-like stimuli. Two hundred twenty-five dyslexic children between the ages of 7 years 6 months and 12 years 11 months whose reading skills were significantly below their intellectual capacity were enrolled in a multicenter, 36-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. Children of below average intelligence, with abnormal findings on audiologic, ophthalmologic, neurologic, psychiatric, and physical examinations, who were emotionally disturbed or educationally deprived and who had recently been treated with psychoactive medication were excluded from the trial. Piracetam was well tolerated, with no serious adverse clinical or laboratory effects reported. Piracetam-treated children showed significant improvements in reading ability (Gray Oral Reading Test) and reading comprehension (Gilmore Oral Reading Test). Treatment effects were evident after 12 weeks and were sustained for the total period (36 weeks). pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/6415738/ In a 12-week double-blind study, piracetam at two dose levels (2.4 and 4.8 g/day) was compared to placebo in the treatment of 60 elderly psychiatric patients with mild diffuse cerebral impairment, but no signs of focal brain lesion. The psychiatric illness, schizophrenia or affective disorder, of patients selected was in remission at the time of the study. Monthly evaluations by the nurse revealed that piracetam improved overall functioning, particularly alertness, socialization, and cooperation, relative to the control group. Patients treated with 2.4 g/day piracetam also showed significant improvement in scores for the full IQ and the memory quotient on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence and Memory Scales; greater response was seen in those with lower initial scores. Piracetam at 4.8 g/day had a more rapid onset of action on behavioral variables than 2.4 g/day, but its therapeutic effect tended to diminish at 12 weeks, possibly as the result of overstimulation. Piracetam did not appear to interfere with concomitant psychotropic maintenance medication or affect the psychiatric illness itself. This guy cannot read the studies he a fucktard. Bruhhh a nerd that cannot even read.
Neurons don't divide, however, neural progenitor cells continues to provide new neurons throughout your adult life. It's called adult neurogenesis.
I know this video is old now, but as someone that couldn’t take statins, I tried Repatha. First injection, no problem. Second injection and following day weakness and pain and shortness of breath were debilitating and had to use a wheelchair. After 7-10 days started feeling better and could walk again, so took a third shot and same problem all over again. I finally found some studies that reported muscle pain among Repatha users during their trials. I wish I could believe Repatha doesn’t have similar side effects as statins because I need this to work for me, but sadly, it’s not working out for me, either.
Stellar explanation. The chair analogy opened a window in my mind regarding medication function.
Does it though? Wouldn’t an analogy of having a chair with a missing leg and the [strattera] drug effect the chair by adding a 4th leg thus making it stable and sturdy. After all, that’s the goal of medications haha
I took Elvanse for three weeks. Afterwards my thoughts became permanently more quite which i very much like. However, I am getting lost onto nothingness like I did before sometimes. Still without any medication it’s very hard for others to talk to me or for me to read and write.
I never got a choice i was made to take them by m docor when i was to young to even remember, guess i was screwd out of life riht at the start of my lie great.
I was prescribed statins many years ago but couldn't take them because of the extreme pain they caused me. One week ago i was prescribed this drug. All was fine until this morning when i woke up aching from head to toe. I've been researching this all day and i found out that muscle pain following these injections is not a rare occurrence. This is not how it was sold to me by the coronary unit. I dont think I'll be taking any more
