Hi,
I am a freelance drummer and drum teacher from Sweden.
My bands are Mildrid&JamtGroovet and MamboCompaneros.
Over the years i have worked with many different musicians and artist including Pat Metheny, Jon Lord, Joe Lynn Turner, Ulf Wakenius, Hanne Boel, Elisabeth Andreassen, Åge Sten Nilsen, Jonas Kullhammar to name a few.

Todays studio recording request - Drumming in the style of Purdie shuffle (Ludwig classic Maple)

For the past three years I´ve recorded drums for solo artists, bands and producers in my home studio. The amount of instructions from the customers on what they want varies, but this time the request was quite specific: I want full Purdie shuffle style (-: Of course this is played with variations that suited the tune. The tune is not released yet, so this is just a outtake from the recording.

Paradiddle Speed/Flow/Power Exercise (Fast Lessons - No Talking)

This exercise is one way to get more flow, speed and power in the single Paradiddle. Focus on the accents of the paradiddle and the uplift downstroke vipping motion. Let the motion and gravity of the accents/motion help the rest of the paradiddle stikking. Think - one (R) one (L) one (R) one (L) - one (R-paradiddle) one (L-paradiddle) one (R-paradiddle) one (L-paradiddle) - one one one... etc.

This is a great exercise where a half Double paradiddle comes in handy to get an automatic change of hands every bar. This exercise is in 2/4.

- Shure Beta 52a - Inside The middle of the kick with backside of mic very close to the fronthead -Eq dont exactly remember, but A combination of Ssl Eq and CLA-76 Compressor - Cranborne Audio Camden 500 series preamp with A bit of Thump mode

Is the last one 130 BPM because I've been struggling with going fast with paradiddles for YEARS, what is your technique.....
Thanks for Watching and asking 😊 The tempo at The end is about 204 bpm. The «secret» to get the Paradiddle up to speed is to do a little accent on the PA (radiddle) and the technique I use for that is the vipping motion or Moeller if you like. Basically thats what I show in the start of the video, without the sticks, and then with the sticks. I try to contain that feel through the paradiddle, so i’m focusing on the PA and let the rest do it self, in a way. If you take all the strokes in the paradiddle apart it will be like this: PA (vipping motion/Downstroke) ra (upstroke) diddle (tapstrokes) and if you practice slow you can focus on every stroke/motion, but at speed it will melt together. What kind of practice pad are you using?
It’s so old, The logo is gone, so i’m not shure..😇 I also have A Gretsch pad and it’s quite similar 🥁 I recommend A big pad that you can place directly on the snare drum, it will not move when playing ff 😇
