Welcome back, Gordon. Killer Timeghoul shirt. This year was awesome. Ulcerate, Blood Incantation, Iotunn, and Darkthrone killed it this year. Hope more videos return. Where did that Timeghoul shirt come from? Plus, I'd love to have you on my podcast sometime.
I’d love to hear a podcast with Gordon!
It this was a "ranking", it totally confused me. Thumbs 👎
performance and metromania my top favs
I’m just coming back to Eloy after several years and just picked up Colours. I really like Floating, Planets, and Silent Cries best, but I’ll go back to check out Dawn once more. I still don’t have the debut or Time to Turn because they’re expensive. And Oceans might have become difficult too. I have been curious about Performance and Metromania. I’m interested in checking them out now. Nice work! I enjoyed your explanations and ranking.
Thd music in the background mate.its annoying
My first is Ricochet.
The first 7 Magma albums any of those albums could rank in 1st place
Magma album rankings 1) Kobaia 2)1001 centigrades 3) kohntarkosz 4) mekankik destructiv kommandah 5)wurdah itah 6) udu wudu 7) attahk 8)riah sahiltaahk 9) emehbtehyt-re 10) K.A. 11)Felicite Thosz 12)slag tanz 13)merci 14)karehl 15)zess
i like the ozric and your ranking but what disturb me is your very loud music .yoy don.t need it
This video was very helpful. Also I like almost the same music you do, going off of your posters in the back.
Interesting list. Two disagreements I have is Monolith being so low, and Elefante a better singer? Are you high? In his prime no one could touch Walsh IMO. Not even Freddie Mercury or Steve Perry. Just my opinion though.
Man I love this stuff 🎉and looks like my room in the 80s ...you know some people might think it's bad that you don't even rank the albums !? well you know enough to understand that you can't rank a band like Coroner's near flawless catalog as every single album is a triumphant technical masterpiece So you won't rank em ....Now that is what I call what call a true rocker🎉❤
I prefer 80’s tangerine dream
I'll check out the Numen.
Super stories... Subscribed. My top 13... 1. A Passion Play 2. Aqualung 3. Minstrel In The Gallery 4. Thick As A Brick 5. Songs From The Woods 6. Benefit 7. Heavy Horses 8. Stand Up 9. War Child 10. Crest Of A Knave 11. Stormwatch 12. A 13. Too Old To Rock 'N' Roll Living in the Past fits between Heavy Horses and Stand Up.
Steller review/ranking!
I'm waiting for a Univers Zero album ranking 😊
started listening to the first 2, now the newest one. This will take a while to digest; more challenging than Magma possibly, but definitely its own thing.
@@gordonblodgett6520 Take your time. Univers Zero is an amazing band! I look forward to see your ranking eventually!
I respect your rankings! Tho' mine are a little different: 1. Ëmëhntëhtt-Ré. 2. Félicité Thösz. 3. Zëss. 4. Köhntarkösz. 5. Šlaǧ Tanƶ. 6. Mëkanïk Dëstruktïẁ Kömmandöh. 7. Rïah Sahïltaahk. 8. Üdü Ẁüdü. 9. Attahk. 10. K.A. 11. Ẁurdah Ïtah. 12. Merci. 13. Kãrtëhl. 14. 1001° Centigrades. 15. Kobaïa. Not that the bottom three are bad in any way, still damn fine music! I did a gap between 7 & 8 as I feel the Top 7 are brilliant throughout, whereas the Bottom 8 have highs, mids & even a low here & there.
42:10 - the classic renditions of Zëss told of total destruction at its climax, the multiple "oms" signifying the floating debris. Whereas 2019's studio version has a newly-composed coda after the final (and only) "om", signifying while there was a destructive conflict, it didn't annihilate everything. Recovery and hope grew out of the ashes. Source: one of Christian's french interviews around the time of the 2019 recording sessions.
Coolest hippies on the planet
My favorite Eloy albums: Planets Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes Ocean Time to Turn Colours all others..
you should check out lisas first solo album from 1996, the mirror pool. it contains sanvean. you rate aion far too low
Sorcerer is actually a great movie. Very much worth your time!
Hidden steps. "Kitty".❤❤❤
My top tier albums: 1 Dawn 2 Ocean 3 Time to turn 4 Colors
❤❤Love your review from TD. I am a huuuge TD fan for more than 40 years now. Well done. Greetings Dirk Belgium
Are you into Van der Graaf Generator?
Fates Warning chickened out and because a bit lazy for a bit, but they have since then redeemed themselves big time. Also check out the Arch / Matheos project albums!! They are beautiful! Awaken the Guardian is just pure mystical magical incredible divine poetic heavy intricate unique ... did I say Divine? This album is like nothing before or after it, even by the band itself. It has a Presence, and a Voice, and that presence and voice is everything I LOVE! I don't think it would matter if I heard it first time when it came out which I did or today; they impact would still be the same! Because NOTHING I've ever heard before or after compares to it. Of course maybe today I wouldn't be listening to it tripping on Entheogens like I was back then, since we're all older and living more responsibly (?) now than we were back then, but Holy Cow this album is something truly Remarkable.
No comment??? 😢
Nothing wrong with "A". I love it! It is a fine contribution to the Tull catalogue. It is REALLY a Jethro Tull album.
Ozric tentacles. The best to.ever do it. I'm so glad they never became mainstream. Because they may of lost there uniqueness. I'm proud to be a life long brother to them.🙏🏻💚🕊🎶🌺🕉
Are the.
Stend up and benefit.ate the best.love songs not records.love from sambation band eylat israel.❤❤❤❤
Awaken the Guardian is my favorite, i Like all the John Arch Albums and the Arch/Matheos stuff, No Exit is Excellent first with Ray Alder .. perfect symmetry..parallels love inside out.. damn not a bad album i like them all for different moods and reasons
Valkyrie is my #1, but you can't go wrong with any Glass Hammer music. It's all amazing!
1.Perfect Symmetry 2. Pleasant SOG 3. Theories of Flight 4. Guardian 5-12. I'd have to think too hard 13. Night on Broken
The first 4 albums were on OHR Records, owned by the Meisel brothers and run by Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser
Green Desert has nothing to do with 1973, it was purely a contract filler when they needed an extra disc for a box set. A bit like Live Miles which is fake live album was only done to complete their Jive Electro contract, not a second of it was recorded in concert
Conrad was still in TD when Chris Franke joined - sadly this lineup is unrecorded
The live album Two for the show is awesome.
nice ratings! mostly agree but I really like Mr. Bulbous so i guess i would swap it with ear candy!
Great video, been a fan of this band for a while and ranking a discography as varied as their’s is no easy task. It’s interesting you rate BE as one of their better albums, personally I think it’s their weakest, just goes to show that there are truly no bad albums from them. Also very nice to see someone else who rates One Hour By The Concrete Lake so highly, it’s my personal favourite album from the band.
i discovered TD in the mid 70s with rubycon but it never really did much for me, i was more into kraftwerk but I really liked the exit album and then went back and listened to everything before that. I liked everthing but when albums like optical race came out I think they sounded way to digital and processed and lost the original feel.
Correction guys: John Glascock died due to a pacemaker not working out to well, in conjunction with his partying. Bass Player Jeffry Hamond is the one who became a painter. My favorite track of Tull's of all time is Velvet green from Songs from the wood. I'd say that album for me is their best work. They were really at their peak then musically.
Early like just because you were spot on with their main influences (Zappa, Giant, Crimson). I'd have most of your list in the same order of preference (I'd reverse the order of #5 and #6, as well as the top 2), though it's hard to rate them, since everything they put out is simply great. Some comments: - I believe Rikard actually plays an accordion on _Coup de Grâce._ - "Robert Hansen is the best bass player nobody knows about". As a bass player myself, I can't agree more! - Great selection of songs to play in the background, but how can we go wrong with essentially anything of theirs? ;)
bonjour mr vinyles j aimerai que vous fassiez une video sur les groupes instrumentaux car personne n en parle et c est bien domage a bon attendeur jean luc
Cool video. Have you heard Hydria Spacefolk? Also Solaris? Kind of similar to Ozric Tenticles👍
Have you heard First Utterance by Comus? A prog folk masterpiece!
Your list order is same as mine - except I would put Serpents Egg before the live! Neoclassic is the word I use to describe them from that era. Good job!
Totally agree with you about the ending of Xavier! This song and album are on my desert island disc list!
