Jones Vineyards
Приєднався 12 сер 2022
Join me as I start up a new Vineyard on 29 acres in Floyd, VA. I will be planting the new vines in the spring of 2023. This winter I need to build some infrastructure. Shelter, water, power, and trellises. Also I need to improve the drainage in the fields in the SW corner.

very nice
I like how you say funny thing😅
Livening the dream
Really awesome
Great work
The final list is Reisling, Chardonnay, Viognier, cabernet, Cab Franc, Petite Verdot, Merlot, and Norton.
Looks like your consulting team standing behind the fence, supervising your work. Great to see this in progress!
The steers are very curious about what I do. Especially the white one.
Now if you can keep the deer from eating them come Spring! Lots of hard work, bravo!
I am going to build a hoop house with netting before spring to cover the tulips
Nice vlogs
Thanks
Great kit 👌 👍
whats with the hydralic hoses hanging?
The tow touge is much too short. Need to buy an extension and a third wheel to move around without towing
Only seconds into the video when I noticed those hoses hanging slack like that. That's a deal breaker for me. Either it's incredibly poor engineering or an incredibly poor assembly job. That's an automatic guarantee that you'll be replacing hoses regularly due to snagging and tearing or rubbing or or pinching.
They didn't start like that. What ever was holding them up broke. I have since just used long zip ties.
Gonna rip thos hydraulic lines off if you dont be careful. Wonderbif you could slap a bigger engine on this thing an pump.
I have tied them up but I did pinch one of the lines and created a leak.
Would you happen to know the measurement of the width at its widest point when in tow mode? I have a6 foot wide bridge I need to get it across. Need to see if it will go. Thanks.
I just left Virginia so I can't measure it for a couple of weeks. I am sure it is 6' wide because when I bought a trailer it was 6' x 12'
Mine measures 74 inches wide.
Singing to the vines
Will add the roof goes out over the motor ☺
Hi I put a roof over my one ,so as to keep the sun of and the rain when working , drilled holes to put split pins in the pins were the nuts kept loosening ,,works well 👍
I own a Jensen mb300 towable it has been very good. Stumps rocks gravel trash brush. It has handled it all. Very well 3 years old. No troubles yet. I am very happy with this machine. And enjoy using it on a regular basis.. very much like this one

Buy a new carburetor......less than $20......get the one for an ATC 125 with the manual choke lever. It will have built in petcock and filter. It is slso 22mm vs stock 19mm. It will be a big difference.....reverse the petcock on new carb......also get s 17 T front sprocket.....then a new chain....stock one stretches way too much due to soft steel.
I have two of these Icebears and love them! I would duggest taking a pointed object like an awl and lifting/unscrewing the plastic cap covering your air fuel mixture screw on the carburetor. They are never adjusted properly one bike was set at 2 turns out from fully seated. The other was set 6 turns out from fully seated. I set mine about 3/4 of a turn from fully seated and the now have more power, smoother running, and start super easy. I'm at 4,400 feet above sea level. Hope this helps. Beautiful color!
Purchased from Mobuys.com
Soft already previously worked dirt
I don't think that dirt has had cattle or a tractor on it for 4 - 5 years minimum
When buying one of these. Will need to do a few modifications to make it better.
I have had good luck with it so far other than having to tighten all the nuts and fittings. What modifications would you suggest
@Jones Vineyards a thum is vary handy to have. If the was a nother set wheels on a hydraulic cylinder setup to help move around. Put the wheels down and pull up when working.
@@jtsokiehobbyandadventures6666 I totally agree with both of those.
how would it do in heavier ground with rock ?
I have some large rocks and parts are heavy packed clay. It has done an awesome job so far.
@@jonesvineyards9742 thanks boss. Deciding betwee nthis and a used tractor/kubuto etc
@@fakdaddy75 I have both but I use the excavator most of the time
I just need anything but a shovel! Looks like this may do it
It beats a shovel and can do more. Plus it is enjoyable. Like the difference between a lawn mower and a riding lawn mower.
I am thinking about getting one first thing to go are the tires getting a trailer axle under it so can be towed.
Wheel bearings do not have grease
I never thought about that
I didn't either till I was towing on road and the bearing froze, lucky I got stopped in time, just tore up the tire.
Very helpful. Appreciate this!
It is a great machine and saves the back
U r moving along...im happy 4 u
Slowly getting there
I would tie up those hydraulics!
Thanks for noticing. I did because they almost got caught on the bucket
For the first year I have planted Reisling, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon. I am planting Petite Verdot the first week of may
Hello! Excited to see the progress! Here’s my vote: Reds: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon Whites: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio
I am considering Reds that could equal a good Bourdeaux like Merlot, Petite Verdot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Definitely Chardonnay. I am debating between the Pinot Grigio and a Viognier. The other 2 wineries near me sell a Pinot Grigio. I will let you know this Spring when I start planting new vine. Thank you for your input.
I would grow for unique quality and what works in that climate. I am a bit of a snob so I would pay for good quality rather than the run of the mill stuff. I love the oak flavor of the Belle Glos Pino Noir, it tastes more like a Cab. In Missouri, which I think is about same latitude and altitude they have great success with the Norton. The only real Norton I like is Cross J made by Stonehill. I like Loveblock sauvignon blanc is another fav for summer. I really like Bishops Peak Cab and also Uncaged by Z. Alexander. And of course the labeling and your theme could be a nice draw. Given the part of the country you are in, you could go with a founding fathers sort of theme, names like Patriots Run, the Colonist, and a nice rose called Pink Floyd! Spin it off of local history of which there is a ton out there. Whatever you do, I am sure it will be great. You are dedicated and it is obvious you are going to make this work. So whatever it is worth, those are my thoughts and I don't know much really. Keep us posted!
Some good points to consider. The Pink Floyd is a great idea. I don't think the Pino Noir grows well there.
