I am Stannis Baratheon the rightful King of Westeros, King of the Andals and First Man, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm.

Game of thrones, season 2 episode 1 "The north remembers" All rights go to HBO
Stannis was fucking dumb, he could’ve had the full support of the North if he gave that same letter to Robb
Why did he put the poison in the cup? Did he not think anyone saw him do it? I read the books but it’s been so long. I need context lol
Stannis was a fool sadly. If he joined Robb he would have won
This is the moment Maester Cressen becomes Bill Cosby
I wonder how his and melisandre stories will end in the book. I hope it's different

He wasn't your brother.... I can't believe with all the dominate leaders we got creepy kid as King lol
2:00 not very subtle lmao
If only they allied together to crush the Lannister army. Robb Stark would have been happy with Jeffrey's head & returned north. Stannis would control the kingdom after renlys supernatural death.
Davos: a harmless courtesy Your Grace Mannis: ...a lie, take it out
Prophecy is a far more dangerous witchcraft than that of black magic or necromancy. We all want our futures told until we hear them, and once we know, we do everything we can to avoid it, only to push ourselves further into our fate. Prophecy is by far the most dangerous form of sorcery.
Stannis Baratheon uses *Terrifying Presence* his enemies flee, if they can
Waaaaaaait, that maester was the Archbishop in that Johnny English film!!!
Are we just ignoring the old dude that killed himself lol
Stannis says it how it is, whether he likes it or not
“Make it Ser Jaime Lannister, the Kingslayer”. Man you gotta love Stannis
technically the magical red god used and slaughtered tons of people during 8 seasons of hijinx. Was it Bran the entire time? We are given hints that it is.
I love the way Davos's son enunciates his words when he read that letter
The problem with Stannis is he listened to a woman. Some may call me sexist or claim I get no this or that, but I am not hating women: I only mean to state women are often of poor judgement and you can see the West failing by over catering to their hysteria. A woman agreed btw, a "boss lady", she said she prefers men as employees as too many women can cause drama and nonsense. Women need men to keep things stable as men are more prone to logic and socialised to not be as emotional.
Melisandre never directed Stannis on how to command, strategise, rule or govern, because she has no education in those fields. Blaming his downfall on the fact that one of his advisors is a woman is quite the cop-out. His right-hand man Ser Davos even suggested they attack blackwater bay without Melisandre, and we know how that went. There’s no way to know of course, but if Stannis had brought her to the assault on Kings Landing, perhaps things wouldn’t have gone so terribly.
Stannis the fookin mannis, my god the show really screwed you over 😭
kurwa bobr
BEND THE KNEE
So much for the son of fire
"...that season 8 was the last season-" Stannis: "Season 8, the garbage season. Call it what it is." "...that season 8, the garbage season, was the last season-" Stannis: "Make it Game of Thrones Season 8, the garbage season. Whatever else, the show still had GoT paint on it."
This one scene pretty much showed us Renly did have a point about Stannis 😂.
One of the best introductions maybe ever in one scene you knew stannis whole personality and position
The scribe looks like Henry from Kingdom Come Deliverance
Autism
The King we deserved

What a wonderful meeting
What language is that in the subtitles
I'm daughter of fire
Imagine Ned had lived and put the whole north behind Stannis. Rob is a bitter fool to have not allied with the one true heir to the iron throne
if Robb was a fool then stannis is even more foolish for staying so long in dragonstone doing nothing, why didn't he crowned himself right after Robert is dead?? how the hell Robb and the notherners supposed to know that he is the true heir if him and Ned keeping that secret to themselves?? Robb and the notherners wouldn't declared for independence if they knew Ned supported Stannis claim.
Did anyone ever notice that Stannis and Renly genuinely loved each other. Mind you despite being polar opposites they were forced into each others companionship as the neglectful Robert loved Ned more than any of his biological kin. Renly literally states “Can’t belive I loved him once.”
stains Robb and renly team up. S3: the end
Stannis should have joined forces with Robb. He could have pursuaded Robb to abandon his crown if he'd delivered Sansa to him and avenged Ned. And as far as Im aware, Robb didnt know that Ned declared for Stannis before he died.
stannic stood on serious bidness
The thing about making peace with Renly is that Renly would most likely be unwilling to make peace either (unless Stannis supported his claim)
he cold have offered that Renly could be king of the South, while Stannis could be king of Westerlands, Riverlands and Vale.
We all know what Stannis is and what he becomes but I admired him greatly for that. The Lannisters stole the Iron Throne and have no honour or values, yet Stannis still shows respect to honour and tradition by saying "Make it Ser Jaime Lannister the Kingslayer, whatever else he is, the man is still a Knight."
Cersei, Tyrion and Jaime stole the throne. they're the only ones in the realm who know for sure Joff's illegitimate. no honor or values? pretty much every Lannister except Joff, Cersei and Tywin have honor and values. don't project their flaws onto a whole house. also the whole concept of "usurpers" and "claim" is flawed to begin with, since whoever is the true king is really just whoever has the biggest army at the time. and that's not stannis.
@@godemperorofmankind3.091 Tyrion and Jamie didn’t do anything. It was Tywin and Cersi who stole the throne.
Lannisters: no honor or value, throne Starks: honor and value, no throne Interesting foil.
@@chrissmart21 he’s saying that Tywin doesn’t know (or at least is ignorant to) the fact that Cersei’s children aren’t Roberts. For all we know Tywin genuinely believes the rumours about his children are false, and that Joffrey and Tommen are legitimate inheritors, meaning he didn’t ‘steal’ the throne.
@@Timebomb_19 they went against Rob’s wishes. Still counts as stealing the throne.
Stannis's hubris was ultimately the reason for his downfall. He wanted to rule but wanted no allies. Between Renly and Rob Stark, the three could've found a way to surround the Lannisters and defeat them
"Call him what he is " 🤣😂
Is it weird to say i had a crush on Stannis in the books and the show 😂
0:31 I mean, really? Did you have to make the poisoning of the chalice so damn obvious?
He’s a Maester not an assassin
I have no idea why D&D felt that they didn't know what to do with Stannis. A show about war and you can't figure out what to do with one of the best commanders in the 7 kingdoms? He should've stayed alive until the end and became king instead of Bran, that would've at least restored some legitimacy to the throne, seeing as Dany failed to break the wheel and Jon didn't want it and every king/"queen" after Robert was illegitimate.
The Ds were never interested in Stannis's character. The actor was never told anything by them, nor how should he portray him. Those 2 drunks never cared. The moment they decided to go wild and full fanfic in season 5, they immediately got rid of this character.
@@gooby214 He did a great job despite not being given a real direction for the character.
he was a total idiot, not a good commander. why would he or should he be king over bran? bran will rule for a thousand years, adding stability. even if stannis somehow ruled for a few decades, which wont ever happen as no one likes or supports him in any way, the throne will go to his sickly daughter, whom even less people support. how was robert himself legitimate?
@@godemperorofmankind3.091 1. He should be king over Bran because Bran has zero claim to the throne. Sorry, how will Bran rule for a thousand years? 2. Robert bankrupted the realm, Joffrey is a renowned psychopath and narcissist, and Aerys was literally insane, yet you think Stannis would be the problem king? Stannis’s heir would be his first-born son, who he would likely strive for after becoming King. Even if he doesn’t, Shireen isn’t ‘sickly’ she’s a learned girl with a kind and strong personality, not to mention legitimate. Why wouldn’t people support her claim? 3. How wasn’t Robert legitimate? Sure there are no Targaryen laws which state that the throne can be claimed through right of conquest, but that can easily be written in by the new king. That’s the thing with laws, they’re as fickle as they are consistent.
@@Timebomb_19 they kinda already went over this. the realm won't accept a woman. the whole Rhaenyra thing. bran was elected by all the Lord paramounts. whos gonna tell them no? no one. there's been Great Councils before. and the entire point behind bran being king is because he has no claim and will rule for a thousand years. its ending the entire concept of claims and a succession
These scenes from the early seasons were so brilliantly written. The first half tells us a lot about Stannis's character. Even though he's calling Jaime an incestuous oath breaker, he's going to address him with his full title while he's doing it. Stannis is dutiful and honorable to a fault, just like Ned Stark.
how is it honorable to implicitly defend aerys by insulting the man who put a stop to him?
@@godemperorofmankind3.091Well most people don’t know the true reasons Jaime killed him so they just see him as breaking his Kingsguard oath. Stannis also says one of the hardest decisions he made was choosing his brother or his king when Robert called his banners.
@@AerysIIFirstofhisname then he of all people should have been able to understand why Jaime would choose his father over his king. instead stannis hypocritically is like "screw jaime. he sucks"
@@godemperorofmankind3.091 It’s not the same because Jaime is a Kingsguard knight who has sworn to protect the king no matter what.
To be fair, so did the lords of Westeros. They swore fealty to the King. @@AerysIIFirstofhisname
I like how Stannis stood up and I bet you he's prob like oh well he ded
Davos mourned the maester a lot in the books. Often brought up his death.
