Rob Leatham: CT3 + Optic Cover Holster Overview
Renowned professional shooter, Rob Leatham, gives an overview of the Comp-Tac CT3 + Optic Cover Holster.
The CT3 is a Level III duty-style holster that offers three levels of retention using friction, an ejection-port lock and an over-the-top hood retention. The CT3 is the perfect holster for law enforcement type work, where getting hands on with a subject is likely. The three levels of retention will ensure the safety of the individual using the holster, making it much more difficult for an adversary to take control over the firearm.

emmm... you need to back up your claim, that kydex is stronger than injection molding, with hard evidence. As a former product designer and current product manager, I call B.S. Injection molding provides infinitely more flexibility in design, to reduce and reinforce stress points. Injection molding also provides the ability to use a broader range of polymers and additives, to achieve a stronger base material.

Actually, no, I can't see the thumb-release button... the lighting sucks and you don't orient the holster in a manner that it can actually be seen. I specifically watched the video because I wanted to see how your release works... I have no better understanding now, than I did before watching the video. Your website doesn't show how it works... your UA-cam video doesn't show how it works. WTF?

It looks like he was shooting a .22 caliber bullet, especially with the minimal recoil. The diameter of holes is way too small to be anything of adequate size. I guess he’s supposed to be the best from Bill Wilson and Ken Hackathorn standards though.

In a pinch, I had to buy a new concealed carry holster and got the QH size 2. In its out-of-the-package configuration, I discovered the clips were flimsy at best and kept pulling the holster out of my pants with fifty percent of my draw strokes. Not reliable. HOWEVER, the shell did acceptably retain my CZ P10 F. So I unriveted and removed the shell from the original leather backing, expanded the holes, and put it on my custom-made leather backing (that emulates an old Alien Gear config) with STIFF belt clips. I haven't had a single holster malfunction since.

I've noticed some people complaining that certain holsters made for use with a light have an open gap that exposes the trigger and can become dangerous if the holster is used with a weapon without a light. If I were to use the CT3 model made for use with a weapon light on a weapon without a light would it still be safe?

Will it accommodate a holster claw kit? I'm not sure of the spacing of the retension screws. For my purpose, the hole needs to be 1/4 inch, and the spacing between both holes needs to be 5/8 inch. Thank you. Your product looks great and versatile.

Hey guys. I ordered and returned this holster. It was made really well and had a very precise fit. But I just couldn't get a hang of the draw. The problem I had was that the same button is used to drop the hood and defeat the internal retention device on the ejection port. So every time I'd begin lifting the gun out of the holster, my thumb would come off the button early, and the internal retention device would reengage, locking the gun in the holster
