Grief Series: Long-Term Illness
Grieving the death of someone is one of the most painful experiences in our lives. There is no easy way to get through it and no matter what advice and guidance you receive from others, the grieving journey occurs alone. In this video series, I will be discussing grieving from the perspective of losing someone who has had a terminal or long-term illness, losing someone through an accident, and losing someone through suicide. I hope that you find this video and the subsequent videos to follow informative. Please feel free to share any comments and to share this video with others if you believe it would be helpful to them.
if you need support based on this issue, then please reach out to bereavement/ grief and loss services in your local area. you can find out more about the work that I do as a Counsellor and Coach by visiting my Facebook page Marian Hanson Counselling Service. Breaking The Worry Habit
Переглядів 1716 годин тому
Everyone worries. Worrying, just like stress, is not something that you can eliminate from your lives completely. However, when your worrying becomes a habit, then maybe it's time to try to do something about it. In this video, I discuss the concept of worrying as a habit and how to break this habit. I would love to hear your thoughts about this topic. You can also share this video with others,...
Going on a Mindful Walk
Переглядів 13День тому
The idea of taking a mindful walk, also linked with Forest Bathing, is not a new idea. Many people go for walks in the park alone, with others, to walk their dog etc. However, a mindful walk in nature is where you detach from your phone and other distractions and you connect with nature by being present and mindful whilst walking. My first proper attempt at taking a mindful walk was okay but it...

    I was raised by a single mother and was the youngest of 5. I am now retired, but still living with my childhood. I stay away from people because I at times over re-act to their comments.

      A negative childhood can really impact on how we are as adults. Have you considered accessing some therapy to work through things?

    Breaking the worry habit, Marian Hanson Counselling Service. Hey. I"m back. And I'm back. And I'm back and I'm watching you. I'm seeing you. That is half the battle right? Getting seen. That is what it is all about......... I like what I see. The rabbit hole of worry. Very cool. Very cool. You did a good job with this one. Great video! I am and I continue to be a proud subj7scriber to your channel. I am and I continue to be. Hopefully I look familiar to you. I want you to recognize me as a returning person to your stuff. I am an advocate on this platform for engaging with others and supporting one another. And returning love and reciprocating feedback. I think that kind of community on here is what we need. If there were more people like me, you might have an extra 1,000 fans and friends to your channel; right now. Extra. I truly am being sincere when I write that. I am a content creator, just like you. Let me get half the battle too. Who knows you might even like one of videos there.

    Tension sometimes arises when the partner with a child/children is not honest about the fact that he/she already has an out-of-wedlock child. This pretense is often common with persons who live in different countries. Finding out the truth after marriage leads to bitterness.

    • @mariancounsellor
      @mariancounsellor Місяць тому

      I agree that honesty is always best so that people can make the right choices for them. However, this is still not the child's fault and as adults, we can always make the choice about how we respond to the children and incorporate them into our lives.

    Dealing with Procrastination, Marian Hanson Counseling Service. Hey. I"m back. And I'm back. And I'm back and I'm watching you. I'm seeing you. That is half the battle right? Getting seen. That is what it is all about......... I like what I see. Procrastination is a thing. I've struggled with it before. It's all about motivation, I think. If you are super motivated you will get it done. If you are not super motivated then you have to plan. Planning means writing it down on a sheet of paper. Planning could mean audio recordings, video recording. Planning could mean a calendar; and writing in your calendar. Planning could mean writing lots of notes and etc. This is good talk. Very cool. Very cool. You did a good job with this one. Great video! I am and I continue to be a proud subj7scriber to your channel. I am and I continue to be. Hopefully I look familiar to you. Yes on Monday i will buring my 3rd brother and people ask me how im still going strong. The truth is im not going strong, im anxious, im scared, and i cant sleep at night. Each time i suffered a loss of a sibling it feels like a pie e of me is missing and than i go i to a shell. Not sure about what to do but the only thing i love is that i still have pieces of my 3 brothers because they passed on leaving small children for me to love. Children are miraculous at healing broken hearts. I can say this because this is my 3rd brother im giving back to God. But their Kids have been heaven sent and has help me heal. And although i will never get over the loss G od had given me the grace to survive as me and my family deal with big loss

      Oh so sorry to hear about your loss. It really is a difficult loss for people to understand. It feels like a piece of your family is missing. You’re such a nice aunty to take care of your brother’s children. Yes, children make you forget everything bad and embrace everything that’s good. All the best to you on your grieving journey.
