AMG GLE motor problems
After 6 or 7 weeks in the shop the new AMG GLE 63s Coupe motor has arrived. You can see from my previous vids that there were serious motor Much longer conversation., but there was foreign debris in the oil. It also looks like the oil they use is too thin. Plus other possible issues like the bores being out of alignment, debris under one of the bearing, etc.

Five weeks ago, took it into dealer with very soft knocking sound. Took motor out and replaced timing chain guides. That didn’t solve it. Took the motor out again and tore apart and found bearing issues. Working with Mercedes to decide next steps.

They have a replacement Timing guide(s) that corrects this noise. Sounds more serious to me. Like rid bearing or wrist pin. Please comment with your thoughts

Still there. Engine is out of the car. Hopefully Tuesday
Still don’t have the whip back from dealer yet. Been there for 5 days and won’t get it back for at least a few more. Heading there to check out the situation this afternoon. Not sure if this was the best idea to let them tear apart the whole front of the motor on brand new amg without knowing if that will even fix it.

So what did the dealer say
One more bit of info…. The knock is the worst on a cold start after the idle comes down. As it gets warm, it slowly gets less prominent to the point that, after you drive it, it’s barely audible. Going in for service next week (May 24th) to get the timing chain guides replaced. This is what the engineers think the noise is.
Thank you for your reply. I bot it certified with 850 miles on it. So, I can’t speak for the previous owner, I did baby it until the posted 1000 mile break in.
I’m AMG product expert, sounds like the first 1500 miles were not followed to a T (not blaming you just from my experience when I hear this tick) Few questions are, have you been letting the engine fully warm up before getting on it? These engines (very rarely) will have issues within the first 3k miles when proper break in period isn’t followed. I can tell by the head lights you have a 2024, I haven’t heard of issues with these yet, please keep us posted. Edit: just read your description, glad to hear that they have a fix coming in your way. I agree with you, this sounds pretty bad from my previous experiences with AMG engines. I’d definitely baby her for the time being.

Hi Tony. Sorry for the late reply. I bought the car used with 850 miles. So, it had the certified warranty which is an additional year, unlimited mileage. I added an additional 2 years for something like $3000. So I now have 7 years unlimited mileage.

Thank you Tony! Well, Mercedes is pretty conservative all around and that includes their paint colors. I find them mostly boring. However, this is by far the best of the choices! And…. I love it! I really do. It is different than most of the primer grays that are out there. I will definitely say that this color does not take a picture very well! In everything I have seen, including my own videos, it appears to be lighter, and in most cases much much lighter than it really is. I have seen it where it actually looks white in pictures and videos. Again, love it
@@scottbaer8072 you’re very welcome!! You are absolutely spot on with your take. When you see the color in person, omg.. beautiful and I got to say videos and pictures don’t do the color any justice. It appears way lighter which clearly is not. I got to say, your combo with the red and black interior is just stunning!! Please do more videos because you don’t see too many 2024 gle coupes owners review on UA-cam. Try and do more videos showing your beautiful ride and also nighttime driving showing the interior. Once again congratulations on your beautiful ride!!!

I’m sorry please explain what is orange pill?
Orange "peel"... It is when the paint does not lay down perfectly smooth like a mirror or a sheet of glass. It has little raised "bumps" (although you cant really feel them) and they look sort of like an orange peel. If you look at the paint of almost any car closely, you will notice it.
It's an effect that paint gives off when the sun shines on it , after washes over time, and paint wears over time. If you look at an actual oranges outer skin, that's the effect it gives you

How's the cornering stability?
Well, I might not be the best to ask that question. I LOVE driving aggressive (fast), but I am in no way a professional driver and I have never drifted or anything like that. That being said, I am not afraid to push it on windy back roads but I have never tracked anything so, of course I am gonna say its GREAT, right? like on rails and that kinda crap. but do I really know? probably not. I only took it hard into a corner twice so far, and it was impressive (for me). I think for the first time I have experienced oversteer when accelerating out of it. Perhaps from the rear bias (I was in sport+ mode)? That all being said, and for what its worth, I was highly impressed! Oh... should prolly add that NO BODY ROLL AT ALL!
