I've experienced crippling anxiety, being in fight or flight for long periods at a stretch, since my late teens. Only over the past 5 years, or so, have I been able to regain some mastery over my triggers and causes. I was triggered today, in the form of someone pulling the emotional carpet from under me which, admittedly, is not hard. The result of that is a constant sense of "ain't safe here, need to be moving". Once in that mode, it becomes hard to step out of it. .. along comes this video.. Thank you, from my almost 40 years younger selves, as well as my current one. My shoulders have dropped an inch and a half.

Man, I appreciate this video and I appreciate your honesty. Maybe sharing my experience will help. Let me just say keep in mind I am not finished with the path. Had a massively deep awakening almost 20 years ago. Honeymoon was a couple months. Once my ego realized its days were numbered…started having massive debilitating panic attacks. There was no UA-cam back then so I didn’t know what was going on. Intuitively I knew that my ego sensed its end and was fighting for its life. I don’t think I had the ability at the time to surrender and go through the fear barrier. The resistance was off the charts. It was not a fun time to say the least. I did work in the relative for 20 years doing a ton to address my selfishness, live authentically, etc. there’s a lot more to the story but for the sake of brevity I will say that I just kind of forgot about awakening (although you’re never the same after it and something never leaves you). 20 years later just through authenticity and a drive for truth I had another awakening. It just felt like a massive death. Literally felt like I died. Whatever repressive mechanism was holding down all the trauma got blown off and ALL the emotion stuff I had been unconsciously running from my whole life came right up to be met. There was no ability to bypass or reason. It just needed to be experienced. (I’m still in it) I’ve been grieving deeply for 10 months now. Feeling all the terror, the dying, the guilt, the seemingly infinite sadness. You wouldn’t wish it on your worst enemy at the same time you know this is where money is. I say all this to say 1) It’s good to do shadow work and really do the best you can but until this happened I didn’t have access to this stuff. I don’t think the person gets to decide when this comes. (I don’t think the person gets to decide anything lol) . Just be gentle with yourself…if I had to go through this at 20 after I had my awakening I may not have lived to tell the tale. Lots of stuff needed to be addressed and experienced in the relative. Trust the process. Love.

Ya but when you been sitting in your grief for almost a year watching your life pass you by, can’t complete basic tasks, ect. I have to force/push myself to continue to take care of myself to cook for myself and go to the gym. I can’t just continue to sit in this.

True. I try to read, scrawl, listen to affirmations, smoke a cig...anything to take my mind off. I'm scared of the fears themselves. I'm constantly in resistance with what is and what I wish it would be or think what it should be or could have been. Then come the WHAT IFs and the anxiety attacks.

What about shame and unworthiness? Do I do the same thing or something different with them?
