    The last minute of this video feels like a punch in the gut for me. I grow up in a very conservative religious organization. Nowadays I find myself contemplating the past; how the lie and abused of me and my family, how ultimately that drive me to leaving the church and becoming an atheist, how I build up resentment towards the concept of God. While I heard the last phrase of this video I can stop thinking about my last therapist, who told that I should revisit church again. Whatever the decision I may take from now on, I find myself questioning my own morals and values.

    I watched Six feet under as a teenager, young teenager, and seeing Claire impacted me so much, She was my favorite character and I related to her as she seemed like a real person, and she wasn't perfect she had issues and didn't always make the right choices, I loved that about her. I wanted to be a writer and her later being an artist I kind of looked up to her in a way. I almost wish more teenage characters were given the nuanced portrayal she was given I think not just for people my age but teens now it would be so great. Because like yeah she was a little alt, a little goth but mostly she was just Claire, and like a real person reflected both her upbringing, her family and the times it was and it was. I feel like most other characters are given a mold first then a personality to fit inside that stereotype, especially teen girls.

    “How to discern a moral from a value is the type of lesson learned from a specific encounter versus what motivated it in the first place” You’re a smart person but your script is doing too much. Interesting thoughts here but they are disjointed to a viewer Thanks for making and posting this

      Thanks, but that doesn’t really tell me how to fix it, so unfortunately I’m not sure what you mean. When I have other people read what I’ve written they seem to follow it just fine, so it would help if you’re more specific. when i said “how”, i didn’t mean a step by step process. there are triggers and reactions to encounters. what triggers an encounter has potential to be different than the reaction. i spoke respectively, a moral would be the trigger and the value would be reaction. people’s morals are defined by what they value. i hope that provided some clarification, and i will keep it in mind to be aware of statements that may come across as confusing :)

    Imo Mr. House is definitely the true canon ending and what really matters in the grand scheme of the Wasteland, and if Bethesda stopped trying to bury everything that's not East Coast there's no way he wouldn't reach NY. Personally I think House is an even more poignant and complex metaphor for this sentiment of holding onto the past while building the future, with his motives being worth exploring deeper for all their faults and benefits. In his mind he's thinking he will build a scientific utopia of prosperity, but he ultimately uses the same methods that lead to the initial downfall of the Fallout world. Is he traumatized by all the centuries of decay and isolation, and what we see is a broken reflection of that, is he an insidious showcase of greed never stopping, both?

    • @TheStarsAndGod
      @TheStarsAndGod Місяць тому

      right, ultimately what he tried to outlive - people - were what he needed to rely on to stay human; fallout is about how inhumanity tears us apart individually and the follow-the-leader-to-survival mentality results in sacrifices that aren’t heroic. you become what you’re surrounded by, and even the brightest of folk isolating themselves from who they see as the masses inevitably take on what they notice the most as part of their behavior patterns. isolation prevents them from exploring those patterns in a way the people who surround him could not, and where he could have evolved further into true saviorhood, he became a legend in his own right by remaining an idea or a myth to most. unfortunately i believe one of the lessons in fallout is that in times of survival a living legend needs to act as much as they can with the thing they have or die dissatisfied. that’s what happened to da vinci

    I loved 6 Feet Under. Alan Ball is the master of dark Humor. I miss it and other memorable series, like "In Treatment". HBO was once the dominator in the addictive series genres, now they are just blah. The only series I've truly enjoyed since the greats of the 90's - 2K's is Game of Thrones. House if Dragons is okay, but there's no Sopranos or Boardwalk Empire or Sex in the City. Please HBO, save us from eternal boredom.🙏

    The movie's streamlined narrative isn't a weakness; it's a strength. By cutting out the book's irrelevant subplots like Brody's wife's affair and the mafia connections, Spielberg zeroed in on what truly matters: the primal fear of the shark. This focus creates a relentless, edge-of-your-seat experience that the book simply can't match.

    • @TheStarsAndGod
      @TheStarsAndGod Місяць тому

      It's a weakness. The strength is that it made the story appeal to the lowest common denominator when every American that could hold a conversation in the 70's was perfectly capable of discussing the book's themes, and yes that includes the affair, it includes the ecoterrorism - just because you are unable to follow, doesn't mean the rest of us are. I'm not reading any replies you feel like you have to give, grown men seem to get some sick pleasure in sitting, arguing with me, and comparing me to their ex wife.

I would explain my opinion as he did "nothing" in the way of, he has nothing to show for it at all, although he could Choose to have had a better attitude about it all. The entitlement without dedication is basically my point, he was used to being treated a certain way and having a certain status and he saw others as beneath him, and now he's complaining about being a regular jack-off as if he never actually was.
