[4k] Crossing the Three Valleys - Courchevel to Val Thorens - Full Day of Skiing
This is a video of a full day of skiing across the 3 valleys resort from Courchevel Moriond (1650) across to Courchevel, Meribel, Les Menuires, Val Thorens and on to Orelle (the fourth valley). This was filmed in early February 2023.

This route is from the top of Grand Fond on the peak of Rosael, down Gentianes and Mauriennaise to Plan Bouchet in the Orelle Valley. We then take the Rosael chairlift back up the mountain and ski back towards Val Thorens via Chamois and Eterlou.

From the Top of the Bruyeres gondola, this route goes down Pluviometre and Plein Sud into the town of Val Thorens. Through the centre and to the base of the Caron gondola into the Cime Caron cable car. At the top, we slide down the icy hill from the viewpoint.

This route begins at the base of the Tougnettes gondola, before hopping across to the Tougnettes 2 chairlift. From the top, the route goes down the Gros Tougne and La Violette runs into Les Menuires. Next we get on the Menuires chairlift and head down Boyes to the base of Bruyeres. My GoPro broke towards the end of the last run unfortunately.

This route is the Loze chairlift to the top of Loze from the Meribel side of the ridge, straight down towards Courchevel via the runs Col de la Loze and Anemones.

This trip is from the top of the Altiport button lift, along Prameruel to the Roc Mugnier chairlift. From there, we ski down Lac Ariondaz, Gentianes to the Signal chairlift. The final run goes from the top of Signal down Easy Way, Gentianes, Indiens and Marquis to reach Courchevel Moriond.

This route goes from the summit of Loze, down Col de la Loze, Lac Bleu, Loz-Est and to the Biollay chairlift. From the top of Biollay, we head down Pralong to the base of the Altiport button lift.

This run takes us from the peak of Signal, down Easy Way into Gentianes, before turning onto Petites Bosses and heading down Gravelles to the Aguille de Fruit chairlift. From there we go down Rama to the Marmottes lift, which takes us near the peak of Saulire. The route goes over the ridge into the Meribel valley along Biche then Chamois. The run stops at the mid-station of the Saulire Express ...
[4k] Legends (Meribel) to St Martin

This route goes from the top of the Legends chairlift in Meribel, to the bottom of Tougnettes 2 along Grive, which then takes us to the top of the ridge between Meribel and Les Menuires. From the top, we ski down Gros Tougne, Pelozet and Biolley to reach the village of St Martin before jumping on the St Martin 1 Gondola to head back up. Music by Bensound (Bensound.com)

GDP 52 - Variable Stability Demonstrator

Project video detailing the conversion of Sherwood Scout light aircraft to a variable stability demonstrator by using an elevator output modification system. We are able to mimic pitch responses of other aircraft or different CG locations within the same aircraft
was this from the top to the foot of the mountain 🏔️ 1 hour 20min?
This was from Courchevel 1600 (far left of the piste map for 3 valleys) down to Orelle (4th valley furrther to the right on the piste map). So it wasn't one mountain, but zig-zagging up and down to move across the whole resort. This is 1hr20, with most of the lift time cut out, and using a fairly direct route. Most people would take time to do a few more runs in each area, but I just wanted a challenge to get across and back with lunch in one day.

Nice one! Thanks for making this video. Planning a trip there this season. Is the route you did here feasible for 1 day ? i.e did you have enough time to make it back to base? I notice your ski time is over an hour but this doesn't include lift times etc

Yeah I know! But I was on my own on this trip, so wanted to play it safe
what did you use to record this with the GPS speed?
I filmed all this on my (now slightly outdated) GoPro Hero 7 Black. If you connect that to the GoPro App on your phone, you can add various widgets, one of them being the GPS speedometer you see here, you then export that from the app on your phone and take those files from your phone to your PC for editing. It's an annoying work-around, the GoPro desktop app used to be able to do this but for reason it's now unable to. You can also extract the GPS data from your files and use an external programme to represent that in graphs and gauges like the one shown, Garmin have a good programme for that I think. You need to make sure though that before you start recording, the camera is turned on for long enough for the little GPS symbol to appear on the screen otherwise it won't record GPS data for your run.
@@Trihawk7 Yeah that's one of the other options, I think there's also a GPS map type of thing, but I thought this was the simplest and cleanest looking one
@@Trihawk7 The graphics are added afterwards, but you must make sure your GoPro has the little GPS indicator on screen before you start recording
At 41:17 mark is a reminder to ALL skiers, no matter what your skill level is, please be careful on the runs, and don't tackle a run your skill are not sufficient for. I wish that skier a full recovery.
100% agree, skiing is much more fun when you are in one piece at the end of the day. Happens to expert skiers too, all it takes is one mistake and anyone can go down. Enjoy the mountains but stay safe out there.

@@gerardolivier5250 You cannot change the weather or the snow conditions, you can grumble about it, but you have no choice but to cope as best you can the conditions the mountain offers you.
