This channel started as a way for Mike to save and share some fun videos flying his L-16. Since then, a few of us got together and had some fun ideas for small adventures we could have in aviation that we would enjoy documenting. Fast forward to present day, and we are starting to finally share some of the things we have been getting up to. At this point we are a small channel, just a couple friends, and some low budget shenanigans. Hope you all enjoy.

Ep10 Escorting Rare Biplanes to Osh24 Airventure.
In July the the Western Antique Aircraft and Automobile Museum sent two of their rare aircraft to Oshkosh for Airventure 2024. Lars got to tag along in the Support ship as the mobile tool box, and oil carrier.

Ep9 : A backcountry lesson and first "solo"

Recently Lars and his coworker Christian took a Super cub to the world famous (locally) backcountry airstrip known as Chukar Flats for a bush flying leson. After a bit of Practice Lars got out and Let Christian get a few Solo laps in to really get comfortable flying in and out of this somewhat technical little strip.

Back in April Lars got the chance to check off a life long goal (that he had only had for 6 months) to go visit one of the best private collections of golden age aircraft on the west coast. and with several other Museum crew members help bring back to hood river 2 Very special vintage aircraft. as well as getting to see with a couple other surprises.

Its been a while. So I decided to take a few minutes to give everyone an update about all the things taking place behind the scenes at Low Lead. mostly its Airplanes, and Airplanes, and more Airplanes! But there is also, building stuff, and making things, and art projects, and even a hot rod.

After an unexpected complication developed involving Lars' choice of paint on a set of hand painted valve covers for a J-3 Cub restoration. Mike came to the rescue with his L-16 to fly out to one of his favorite private airstrips so Lars could fix the problem.
Ep6 : Stunning formation adventure with a Ford Trimotor

Back in May of 2023 Lars stumbled into a once in a lifetime opportunity to fly formation with a Legendary Ford Trimotor through the scenic Columbia River Gorge. Flying escort to a vintage airliner into PDX for Alaska Airlines aviation day event. In so doing we got to participate in a flight of two arrival for a Golden hour landing in formation with an icon from the golden age of aviation.

Mike and Lars set out on an overnight trip to procure parts for Lars' build. Along the way we visited a couple really fun mountain airports with our buddy Tor Bieker of Great Wave Aviation www.greatwaveaviation.com , Before Stopping for the night at a private strip that is the home of Bushliner. The Next morning we set out to visit Dan at Old Aire in search of elusive stock 1940s Grumman Widgeo...

Sharing some of the highlights of the 2023 Hood River Fly-in. Including some behind the scenes of the event and some formation flying, also Lars was given the opportunity to fly an airplane he has dreamed of getting to see for over a decade, and then to cap off an amazing weekend got to fly the oldest Flying Waco biplane in the world.
