Theme from Jurassic Park - Musescore 4
As soon as Musescore 4 came out, I started working on copying over this masterpiece by John Williams, "Theme from Jurassic Park". I wanted to see how realistic the orchestral sounds (Muse Sounds) are in Musescore 4... It's amazing!!
The main thing that I found a bit strange was what happens between measures 46 and 47... For some reason, that transition is very weird, at least from the audio perspective.
Other than that, Muse Sounds with Musescore 4 are amazing!!

Clair de Lune (by Claude Debussy)

My attempt to perform this beautiful work by French composer Claude Debussy. This is the third movement of his "Suite Bergamasque". You will pardon my not-so-great technique... =) Enjoy!
My piano cover of Fase-1 (by Pino Forastiere)

I couldn't get a hold of a better camcorder, thus the poor quality of the video. So, since the raw sound would've been worse, I connected the audio directly to the computer and captured separately. Then I combined the lousy video with the better audio. Pardon my lack of technology!! =). If you would like to give it a shot, the sheet music can be found here: musescore.com/user/50499/scores/190045

This is my Piano Cover of "Into the Ocean" by Andy McKee. Since this is my first recorded performance of anything, I was very nervous. I hope you forgive the mistakes here and there. Also, the quality of the recording is not the best. I hope to get better equipment as I learn more about this digital video stuff. You can find the sheet music for this transcription here: musescore.com/user/50499/...

A short clip of this great street pianist, Jonny Hahn. He can be found at Pike Place Market, in Seattle, WA. This is an awesome pianist, you have to see it live. I will try to get more clips of him...
David's Second Goal on a Soccer League game...
Переглядів 31418 років тому
This is the second of two goals that I scored on a game in one of the soccer leagues I used to play. A friend happened to be recording the action. I'm testing the video uploading service here.
Does anyone else get frustrated by the slightly too fast main string/flute part at 1:00ish onwards? It's played with a much nicer cadence and slower tempo in the film but every live performance or other recording I've seen almost seems to rush through this bit like they just want it done. But it's actually the part where you can really feel the majesty of the animals
thats so bealtiful! Can you send me this sheet music?
how did i find this
For a free software this is frobiddingly good! Even if it was payware.
dynamics is all over the place, it needs work! :)
Ok... so I downloaded this and all the new sounds but the harp still sounds like garbage. Can anyone help where to find the new sounds?
I still prefer dedicated sample libraries within a DAW. However, the progress of Musescore is coming along nicely.
the trumpets would probably work better if they were put to the "trumpets" sound
I'd say the main issues nowadays are that the top range of each instrument tends to be a bit too low, sudden dynamic changes don't sound particularly good, rapid notes often don't sound natural, and dynamic balance is frequently quite inaccurate. Especially annoying are instruments like harp or vibraphone (where there is a huge jump between mezzo-forte and forte) and the oboe and violas (which are far too quiet and often need to be written one or two dynamics louder than in real life).
How to add two sounds in one track? For example two horns in one track?
If the two horns are using the same rhythms, then notes can be stacked like chords. If they are playing in different rhythms, then you need to write them using different voices. The top horn gets voice 1, and the bottom horn gets voice 2.
2:36 - 2:52 i play this on rewind, it gives me chills every time
46-47 sounds like something is pizzicato that's not supposed to be, to me...
Yes. I think that's one of the few bugs I have encountered. I think there's a glitch in the engine that maps the sound library with the notation symbols.
BUEN TRABAJO. FELICITACIONES. DONDE PUEDO CONSEGUIR EL SCORE PARA FORMATO XML O MUSESCORE. GRACIAS. SALUDOS MUSICALES

Teach us how to compose orchestration using muse score
Amazing software. Did you rewrite the notes or just importing file sheet?
I have a copy of the original score, but I did not import a copy. I manually re-entered it note by note.
How do I get mine working this good?
It really needs to work out the marching sound, it can't really do it yet, especially in the strings... but to think this is free. Amazing.
You use horns a6, trumpets, a trombones a3?
at 4:19 I wish the lower notes in the harp could project that well 🤭 that would change the game for us soo much and like oml having a boomy lower notes/chords would be dope af but irl that part is absolutely drowned out by everyone else 😪 we have such a big instrument yet our sound projection sucks ahh
Impressive! I've been using Musescore for years now. Because of NotePerformer I have bought Dorico Pro and Note Performer 3. But had no time to start using it yet. Maybe I will never do it 😅, with the realease of this amazing Muse Sounds.
Great ! Is this the original orchestration or your own ? Amazing anyways.
This is not my orchestration. This seems to be the original. I found a PDF version of it somewhere online. 😅
@@sergeidave Can you possibly please send link maybe ?
Has anyone ever wondered what grade level this would be?
The dynamic markings, crescendo, and decrescendos are too abrupt, but that's my only real complaint.
theme foro jurassic park Muescor4
I was so damn annoyed - I got my first composition commission for an orchestra and had nothing else than musescore 3, bc it also would've taken too long to learn a different program until deadline. MuseScore 3 was so old that I wasn't able to get a nice format of the score, bad sound recordings, unbelievable hard function-management. Right after the concert MuseScore 4 arrived, completely reworked, a sound which reaches modern orchestral libraries in quality and realism - completely free. Man, I was really insulted :D MuseScore 4 is absolutely fire, as well as your arrangement, great job!
It's SO tiny. Note performer is far superior. I feel bad for those of you that don't know any better.
No shit, note performer actually costs money
Don't get carried away... I just heard this same piece played through Note Performer on three different videos and it's NOT far superior. Sure, the trumpets sound louder, but less realistic. The flute vibratoes sound exaggerated and artificial. The overall orchestra often blends poorly. Marcatos often sound like staccatos. There are Pros and Cons with both softwares, but to say that NotePerformer is FAR superior is pushing it quite a bit.
I mean none of these notation based programs are remotely close to what you can achieve in a DAW, the lack of fine tuning of CC1 and 11 data on its own is enough for one thing...
@@trackhero2714 Correct, because they are notation software, not digital audio workstations. Still, as notation software, the approximation to realistic sounds helps composers tremendously by giving them a better idea of how their compositions would sound. Especially for composers that are more old school and used to creating the actual music scores, not just recording the midi orchestration.
@@DavidBadilloMusic Yup I agree 100%, my reply was really only in context to the other guy's opinion about the sounds -- you can only go so far within a notation program.
Listening on March 18, 2023...Fantastic arrangement...🎺
It feels to fast for Jurassic world
Hello! This is amazing may I please acquire the mcsz file so i can test it out as well ?
You can download it here: musescore.com/user/50499/scores/9891109
i love bugscore 4
It sounds pretty good ! Williams composed impressive music…
The trumpets still need work in MuseScore 4. But I'm often amazed at just how good the french horn sounds
Definitely. As a trumpet player, I wholeheartedly agree. The trumpet's "tone" (and, of course, volume, but you can amp that up in the mixer) is much different than I was expecting. Hopefully, they work on that soon. The French Horns are gorgeous though, gotta agree with you there.
The french horn has always been a go-to instrument for me when composing. The fact I can now hear what's going on in my mind live while writing is magical. I must admit it's helped me become a little more bold. There's just something magical about getting a proper live mockup while writing, adds another joy to the process.
Agreed. They did well with french horn and trombone IMO.
The best trumpets I've heard are in noteperformer 4. They're so amazing and real!. If musesounds had the brass they have in noteperformer, It would be the perfect notation program, at least about sounds.
Wow, this is just epic! I love it! Congratulations!!
I love the new sounds! I do get frustrated with the levels though. The instruments that are a little too loud are the flute and piccolo (especially when they play really high). And the instrument that isn't loud enough is the trumpet.
I agree. They do have a few things to fix. I think it's a great start, though!
In general, the brass are the weakest section in the new sample library, and the trumpet is probably the worst. The strings, however, are as good as a $1,000 library IMHO
@@daleandelaineartsEven so, I still really love the brass they have for free and I think it’s also, just like the strings, on par with some high budget plugins that usually cost a lot of money. The brass might not be on par with something you’d get for $1000 but it’s an amazing start for the price of only a few minutes of download time.
@@daleandelainearts I agree that the strings sound amazing. Probably the best thing of the sample library.
Tuba can only go down to E… Cringe… I can go an octave lower on a real tuba
Well, I thing there is a serious problem in dynamics, there is no balance. The sound increase and decrease uncontrollably between sessions. I don't know if there is problem especially on this video.
They definitively have a few things to fix here and there (for example, the one I noted in the description of this video), but this is a great start for what they are trying to do. Remember this is a notation software, not a DAW.
@@DavidBadilloMusic Certainly it's not a DAW. I agree it is very good notation program as far.
compared to Every musescore file I've heard since 2018, *it's an absolute Amazing* upgrade and is near DAW tier in sound quality now, which makes me insanely happy
How much Wagner, Richard Strauss and Holst is involved in this wonderful piece of music.
It's plagiarism!
@@omegamale7880 Classical music (I use that term broadly) has always been predicated on using sounds (harmonies, orchestrations, etc.) from other composers. This is not anywhere close to plagiarism by music standards. In fact, I would argue it would be both silly and nearly impossible to try to create music that doesn't sound like certain composers of the past. Why reinvent the wheel? Anyway, I'm just a music nerd who jumps at the opportunity to be a nerd and defend John Williams at the same time.
Not much? Please cite instances outside of "it's neo-Romantic music".
Very good!
This sounds so good
hey... is this really the sound of the Musescore show? or is it some audio? because it sounds amazing!!
This is the new big thing they introduced with Muse Sounds as part of Musescore 4. So, yes, this is pure Musescore sounds, nothing else added. It's awesome!! 😃
@@DavidBadilloMusic Wow, Musescore seriously outdid themselves with these realistic sounds.
Yup, this is really the sound of Musescore 4.
