SPS Coral Spawning in the home aquarium Ep 1
You need another hobby as when you get bored - let’s try coral spawning; try a different way of dosing and now let’s plumb in a 5 foot tank 🤣🤣 Was gonna say the macro algae could well be pulling out minor elements and def hoovering up phos and nit
@@fishpalace That's so true, I do get bored super quick 😅
Another great video .. I have been also doing bolus dose w/ bi carb but haven’t seen much ph improvement .. I am also doing Kalk at night .. I ordered some sodium hydroxide but may ease into it .. I like your honest straightforward videos !!
@blaynebrain5525 Thanks, sodium hydroxide is potent stuff doesn't take much to raise the alk or the pH. I mixed mine 160g/L of RO and used to dose about 70ml a day.
Another top video Rob!! Bolus lasted long!! 😂 Another tank means more fish & coral 👌🪸🐠
When it rains it pours mate 😩🤦🏻♂️ make sure you turn the valve closed & anyone else shouting Rob close the tank Lid before the wrasse ends up on your lap 😂😂😂 have a good week fella .
Love to see big stags in a reef tank
How did you dose kalk before I really like to mix up a large container 6.5 grams per gallon and dosing that as a solution easy no mess way to do it
@xhongxina286 I have a kalk stirrer it's just not really big enough as I had top it up every few day
Another belter of a video. Thanks Rob!
Full tank shots :) Looking great mate, very nice! I'd love a fish room that I could just be by myself in to potter around. I have planns for a sump room this year.
yes pro and cons like most things Dan, nice not having to not worry about slopping water all over the place, or in constant hum of MP60's. Not scrambling about under the tank is the biggest win for a sump room, you will love it.
ouch, fixing that calcium reactor lid looks hard
Shame about the abyzz mate but I’m sure they’ll be back 🤞🏼
@dazsboxofwater yes, gutted really but that's life sometimes
@ you’ll have a great time away with the love of your life mate , always a positive
Good to see you are better, sleep easy now the backup is working
Great video as always!
@ReefRondo Well at least the broken breaker saga is sorted 😀
Not just a cold, Rob...MAN FLU...glad you survived... 😂
@richh6790 Thanks, was a tough battle 😄
Great video Ron keep us posted
Great video Rob!! Tanks looking stunning, that algae is fascinating!! Very odd!! Love the Chineseium reference to 🤣
You need a mini trident body
What a T-Shirt LOL! Love it! I'm sitting here giggling like a child 🤣
😂😂😂
I expect with that many fish with high food input (CO2 output), pH will struggle on Bolus Rob. That's why we started using kalk. Beautiful tank.
@garf4125 yes that's entirely possible, I'll see where to gets to over a few months, if it doesn't get over 8 consistently I'll probably revert back.
Chinesesium 😂😂😂
I heard it to!! Cracked up laughing !!
@ 😂😂😂
You not worried that leak will get worse when you are not around!
@ScallyWagSohalTang It's possible but I've had a very similar leak on the same bulkhead before, I did eventually fix it properly so will probably do the same here. Just need to be in the right mood😁
Never a quiet moment for you Rob 🤯. I will stick to the nano for now 😇. 1500ml per day 😳
Yes, it can feeling like a never ending series of failures sometimes 🤣 I still love having the tank, but my lifestyle allows it.
Its calcium hydroxide.....yeah ok Rob
Honest!! 😄
A small annoying drip what like the one on a Friday live occasionally 😂😜 I’ll resume watching now 😂
Wow you’ve been a busy man mate & sounds like you was even busier on Monday with all those jobs to do, hope everything is going well & jobs got sorted, I’ll await to find out on Monday mate. P.s. what about a black tang 👀 😂😂😂
Probably a good Idea to ICp test your mixed up Cobalt to see if there are any contaminants in it like Arsenic. Also have you tried CT1 sealant in your leaking fitting?
Yes ICP are very handy to check, the cobalt is the only element that didn't come with a spec sheet so will check it. I do have a tube of CT1 sitting on the side so it's a possibility
Cool, never heard of that bolus thing, gonna take a look
I switched to bolus 2 months ago and the tank seems to be so stable and has never looked so good. It can take a bit for the PH to recover after using kalk.
Excellent, this is what I'm hoping for.
Brilliant video Rob. I'm sure this new method will work out in time but I totally agree it's a little squeaky bum time!
Its 4:00pm at my place. Smoking Cigarette and sipping tea while watching your video. Really enjoying the journey.
Love it, that is random
HI thanks for video, how do you do water changes? or how big of water change can you do?
@ronniebona359 I do 300litre water changes, I have a autowater change on a peri pumps, or I can do it quick by pumping water out and pumping fresh salt water in. I have two ibc so can have 2000 litres of mixed salt water ready if I need it.
Hello what did you do to get a pin morbius is asking for ? i cant conect to morbius because of a pin ( got it sec. hand) with no pin ( so maby there is a standart pin form new )?
Isn't there a reset button on the versa by the power port where you can insert a pin to factory reset the device.
Probs find test B soliniod valve has seized up alittle mate, easy enough job to solve 👍
Yes, going to take a closer look at it, probably a simple fix.
Nice update. That is why I moved back to small tank and whilst the max nano has been a pain it is a pleasure compared to my previous 450L tank. Of course nothing compared to the beast you have 👌🏻
yes I can see the appeal now I have this one
Lee would get 12 tangs in that little tank 😂
That awesome feeling when everything is just working and on point. 😊
Never lasts, had a leak on my salt holding bin today !!! this hobby
Tank is looking amazing. Have you tried the full DIY trident refresh kit? I do it once a year on my tridents.
I have done a service kit on it, have to check how long ago that was.
Wow you’re fish look so healthy, just watched some of your videos, awesome set up you have there.
Thank you, took some time with the fish, definitely worth the effort.
At last!!! a week you have been waiting for, everything just working
Another great episode Rob!! Nice to hear a positive one aswell!! Not that my advice is worth a lot!! I would wait… change one thing at a time, giving it some time to settle before the next change !!
really appreciate these videos Rob! Can't wait to see what the new year brings us from your legendary fish brain!
£140 in salt every 3 weeks ! Holy moly 😂 that's more than I do for a year !
Here is to another amazing year of content from you! Thank you so much for keeping this going. I really enjoy them.
Minimal effort Ron, that's why I can keep them coming :P
Happy new year to you and your family great vid also hahaha...
Morning , HNY, yeah I’m that person 🥴🤣 I’m not hungover you are 😂 just making bacon & egg baps 👌🏼 listening to you waffling , cool t shirt 👍🏻 back to continuing listening , have a great day Rob.
I’m sure I could hear the violins 🎻 at the end mate 😂
Happy New Year mate, glad I can be the white noise in the background :P
What’s your thoughts on the ABC reagents
Been using them for about 2yrs, never had an issue, saved me a small fortune, will be buying my next batch this year sometime
What bio pellets you currently using, used TM version in the past and thinking of firing it back up use the largest octo bio react
HNY, so I just use the Tropic Marin ones, I don't think there is much between brands really, I like them because I find them pretty low maintenance
Nicely done 👍
A lot of thought and time went into the fish room 👍
Great project 👍
Impressive 👍
Another top video Rob, Glad to hear it was a good week!!
thanks Matt, just want to have some no drama time over xmas :)
