VHC Crooked River, Blue Rag Range & Devils Hollow | Wheel Lifts, Sweeping Views, 20+ River Crossings
We're back for another Victorian High Country adventure, this time in a bigger convoy!
In our crew is @meet_the_metchers in their Y62, @usandapup in their 79 Series towing their Trackabout Camper, @adventureroundoz in their Y62 and @rileydoesthings @bethdoesthings in their Barra GU Patrol.
We started things off by rolling late into Dargo with an overnight stay behind the pub which was then followed by tacking 20 something river crossings along the Crooked River Track then spending the night at an UNREAL campsite high above the clouds. Come Sunday, we get straight into 4 low and tackle the Blue Rag track, which threw a few curve balls our way.
What an epic weekend, with pristine river crossings, a few cheeky wheel lifts, some track building, epic sunsets and sunrises all with a great crew of people to experience it with!

How long did it take for you to get from bindaree hut to Wonnangatta
It took all day, probably around 6-7 hours, King Billy was slow going as it was very rough and rocky! Zeka Spur wasn’t too bad. Not sure on the condition of King Billy now
How was the Zeka track could you get a trailer down there?
This was a year ago that I was there, so I’m not sure if the condition of the track has changed since then. You could get a trailer down however it would be difficult in the wet though and I wouldn’t recommend if it is wet.
Despite the hurdles, this was still a beaut video to watch! Love the high country!

Cheers mate! I could definitely do a rig run through! I’ve got a Somerville Metalworks barrier cage mount, keeps it up out of the way!

Can’t help but think we are so backwards in this country compared to say Canada or the USA. I think more of the main roads should be sealed (Jamieson - Woodend -Matlock). So 2WD can drive on a main road through the mountains. And the 4WD tracks need to be maintained in far better condition by Parks Victoria than they are. Just lazy.
I’ve watched a few videos of 4wding in the US and I was blown away how well maintained the tracks and areas surrounding is! Our Parks Vic definitely need to up their game!

Nice Vid. No staged Bullshit, great quality, just like we all do it. If I had my regular Stilh chainsaw, I'd have cleared that track. Shame, Shame. Otherwise a great unadulterated video. Keep it up.

How was the condition of Zeka Spur when you went? Just wondering if I need to install a 2" lift before I head there for hose washouts. I haven't driven the track for a while and not in the new vehicle.
I had heard horror stories of Zeka Spur, but for us it was pretty tame! But I would not want to attempt the track in the wet and coming back up it would be a bit of a challenge. I don’t think there was any sections where a 2” lift or higher would be needed, however, I do believe they had recently done some track grading and repairs.
@@tashlucasadventures thanks for that. I had heard the same about the track years ago but did it easily in an old 90 series Prado. Now in a 120 Prado but without a lift and it has been into Wonnangatta via Myrtleford but not Zeka. Sounds like I should be able to drive it! Cheers
