I was living about 20 minutes from where this was build at the Henderson Shipyard of Austal Ships. This design was of boat was also use for the US military luteral combat ships.

It looks to have been a good trip. Our daughter is going in a couple of weeks with her friend and they are certainly looking forward to it. There was an offer on and they are only paying about £25 each, which includes breakfast on the first day only, as well as bus transfers to/from Amsterdam. The evening buffet looks good, but it is very expensive. Good luck with your UA-cam channel

Have great memories of working on her in the 1970's and 80's - from New York/Fort Lauderale to the Caribbean and Vancouver to Alaska - plus 2 World Cruises - Also worked on HAL's Statendam, my first ship, in 1973 sailing from New York & Fort Lauderdale to Caribbean and Bermuda (lol - felt seasick on my first night aboard while we were still tied up to Pier 40 in New York!) - the little Prinsendam in 76/77 from Vancouver to Alaska and crossing the Pacific to Singapore for its Indonesian cruising season - Also Nieuw Amsterdam in early 80's Tampa/Caribbean and Vancouver/Alaska. Loved them all - but my favourite was the SS Rotterdam - She just had a timeless down-to-earth elegance and, like all HAL ships, the most friendly and welcoming crew & officers you would ever find on the high seas... I'm so glad they saved her. She was, and still is beautiful - and your film did her justice. Thank you for this.

We sailed on the Cotentin for the first time in June to Le Havre and was surprised by how small the lounge and the shop were. We spent most of the crossing sitting in the restaurant. The food was good, though. We prefer the Bretagne which is more spacious and more comfortable.

A year on and we now sense it is a sea-banana. It's not fit for purpose going by its erratic/intermittent sailing record. IOMSP should hang on to the Ben as a just-in-case.

Hot and cold food is available on the ferry. Why duplicate in the ferry terminal? Typically you would only be in the terminal an hour or so before you boarded the ship!

Excellent video, well done. I've done this return trip many times. In my experience, the Pride of Rotterdam was better than the Pride of Hull. if ever you take the same trip with a vehicle (I aways did) another video showing loading and disembarking procedures would be valuable to viewers.

I’d love to see this ferry operating from Liverpool old port (not Birkenhead) to Dublin and with direct train services on SailRail from Manchester Victoria - if a smaller foot passenger only ferry were to operate on a SailRail basis from Salford Quays and along the Manchester Ship Canal via Liverpool to Dublin, it would mean easier connections via Metrolink Trams from anywhere in Manchester

Irish Ferries and Stena need to have these lounges at both Dublin & Holyhead ports - I use the Stena Plus Lounge on the Stena Adventurer and the Club Class Lounge on the Irish Ferries Ulysses, WB Yeates, Isle of Inishmore and the Dublin Swift Fast Ferry

We know the Clyde quite well, (living in Scotland) and have seen the Waverley on the river a few times, but have still to take a sailing "Doon the water" ourselves. Your video has beautifully captured that experience, and is a real inspiration to anyone to take that trip themselves (ourselves)

We really enjoyed this video, and mostly because we often create videos with just natural sounds and some onscreen captions, and just let the pictures do the talking as you have done here. Some really nice scenes here in your videos, and the ship looks amazing of course.

Nice to see (for a change), a positive video of such a historic gem of a building! 👍✨ As long as the bedroom/sheets & en-suite bathroom are clean, I much prefer a stay in an old-style, character hotel (which retains many of it's original features and decor 🎩🌆) to most modern ones, with a less 'aged' atmosphere! A well presented and edited video, enjoyed. 👌✨

To be honest, I could do with a ferry like that, big enough to have your own house and garden on the ferry and you can travel anywhere in the world, no council tax, no road tax and even other taxes won’t apply because you are on international waters

Finlaggan is such a sophisticated vessel, that interior is exquisite.
