    I came back to this to see if you had answered a question but can see the dreaded "where the eck" has the comment gone scenario has happened..lol. Anyway, re the camera - at the time I was looking to replace my old go pro and hearing you say you use an action 4 I could see from the shadow you appear to have a mic attached - is it a dji mic or a rode, if its a rode I wonder can you attach and record to it using the action 4? I see you have watched Daves 1st ep of the Cambrian way - it's a great series and I reckon sometime in the next few days he should be finishing the walk (spoiler alert, lol) He records on the go and if you see he released that video 5 days ago - yet I commented on it 13 days ago... 😉 atb Al

      @@TheWalkingKev Morning Kev. Dam, I tried looking to see if you could use the rodes with the action 4 but only found one video and I didn't think his audio sounded very good - probably set it up wrong. I purvhased the action 4 recently and bought the mic to go with it. (I bought the 3 battery combo and added the mic with it) but there is no transitter so I guess you can only use it with the action 4? I will keep the rodes now then & use them on my pansonic S5 for talking heads... if I ever get back out n about. Its many years since I been up on Twmbarlwm but not got fond memories of it - me and a mate had a run in with two off road motor bikers who became quite agressive after they whizzed passed us quite closely and my mate shouted after them - they stopped and was looking for bother.... tossers.

I would imagine the flattened area below it was where the spoil tip was and over the years nature has reclaimed it... below you I am guessing might have been shale ? The auhority of most waterfalls in the South Wales Valleys (and beyond) is a gentleman by the name of Martin Ress. He has wriiten a few books compiling lists and if they have a name he will most likely know it. He is a BB warden and is on IG & Twitter. He's welsh speaking and will undoubly help you with anything re waterfalls/ pronounciations etc... I have found him to be most helpful. Loved the light on Graig Fawr as you stood there.. hope you got a shot of it I have walked in that area but not that immediate area - more northerly but know the area you parked I think. Also, if looking for camping spots someone else who knows the valleys very well is my mate Morgs - the guy I spoke to you about nefore. I have this bivvy and love it , Its solid built bigger than youd think and one of the best out there imho . Part of the problem with bivvy bags is the user they come from tent backround stuff sitting all around them in the tent room to sit up etc . It requires a different aproach you now dont need all that stuff so theres nothing sitting around you and you sit up outside ( a small tarp or even polythene sheet is perfect for this ) Getting in and put is actually a dawdle dont load ypur sleeping bag the lengh of the bivvy bundle it at the head stand in it and shuffle in pefect fit every time . The puter bit at head folds back over the hoop so doesnt hang on your face . All that said if i was out n abt for more than two days and it looked like id be spending a lot of time under cover id opt for a tent but for a quick deploy shelter guaranteed to keep you warm n dry this bivvy is as good as it gets others have other features but this has the correct combination Of lightness hydrostatic head and simplicity . The pack size and weight is a huge plus Its tiny . If your over 16 stone and 6,5" forget it though It will be like a sock Othermanufacturers make larger bivvys Get one of those or a one man tent . I have no idea why you would buy a bivvy that isnt waterproof might aswell sleep outside in sleeping bag under a tarp 🤷

    Just a caution with this brand - I purchased a similar model of jacket, a Verge Extreme, which has similar specs to this one. When I went to leave a review, I found that reviews were all 5 star and reviews are only allowed by invitation from the company. I sent an inquiry to provide a review, and got no reply. My verge jacket, rated to 20,000 mm head pressure, wetted out after less than an hour in normal moderate rainfall and subsequently wetted out in under 5 minutes in a heavy rainfall.

    Amazing sharing. I would like to know how it performs in low light. The tropical area of zoo, where there isn’t enough light. Would it be able to capture sharp photos of small as well as big creatures (covering a distance of 1-15 m roughly)? Would you recommend this or some other bridge / point & shoot camera? Thx in advance.

    • @TheWalkingKev
      @TheWalkingKev 12 днів тому

      As it has a 1" type sensor it does better than most bridge / point and shoot cameras, but the sensor is still a lot smaller than an APS-C or full frame camera so low light performance is going to be a weakness. As far as I know the best bridge cameras only have a 1" type sensor so to do better in low light you'd have to step up to bigger sensor cameras with an interchangeable lens system.

      @@TheWalkingKev Thank you very much for the reply. I wanted to avoid the DSLR / mirror less & huge telephoto lens as that would be quite a bulky combo. But I understand it's needed to take sharp photos in low light. To give you an idea, I'm sharing a link of my son's UA-cam Channel. It's here (& similar locations) we want to take the photos. You'd be able to see the low light (on LHS, ground with brown bark). This video is taken with iPhone 13. But normally, we use Sony FDR -AX43a camcorder. Please have a look & help me suggesting camera equipment that we can use. My kid is there 4-5 times a week & he loves to be around chimpanzees. Thanks a million in advance. @@navinspoetry_ for that kind of location and shooting it doesn't look like you'd need the huge zoom range of the RX10 so you'd probably get a more compact and lighter setup with a full frame camera and small and fast prime lens - which would also let in more light than the RX10 lens. I'd be tempted to go with a cheap Sony A7 camera, like the A72 or 3 and then pick a small prime lens or an f2.8 zoom. It'll be less size / weight than the RX10 and will be a lot better in low light.
